First, I would like to thank the people running this forum for allowing me to participate. Let me introduce myself. My name is Phillip LaSpino. I’m 86 years old, born in N.Y., moved to Alabama in 1992, am reasonably healthy, have no cane, crutches, or walker, and take Prevagen every morning. I get up at 5 AM, put on a pot of coffee (I love my coffee), pull my cat’s tail, feed him, and then exercise for one hour. My cat’s name is ‘Hay you.’

Am I denominational? No! I prefer being independent. I have maintained a website for 25 years and enjoy writing. On 12/17/23, my first novel was published; it's a fictional story with Daniel’s end-time prophecies woven throughout. I call it, 10-22-27.

From birth to teen, I was Catholic until someone told me, “Call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven.” It was then I moved on. I have always believed in God but never understood who he was. Knowing who Jesus Christ was parament. When I understood who he was and why he came, I moved on to a year-long study of the Holy Spirit. That’s when I started my journey. When I quote scripture, it’s usually from the K.J.B.
I served in the Marines, then went into professional Harness Horse racing as a driver and trainer. In 1982, I became interested in the Bible. Down deep inside, I knew something was missing, so I decided to try the Bible on for size. Someone told me, ‘Every Christian has a gift,’ but most never use it,’ so I set out to find mine. Strange enough, it turned out to be researching the Bible.

The sole purpose of Bible studies is to turn mirrors into windows. I am a stinker for timelines, context, and supporting scripture with scripture. I refer to Bishop Ussher, John Lightfoot, and Hales’s chronologies for timelines. I will not argue, only discuss. I believe there is one Bible and one truth. If two people disagree on a subject, and both are honest and the proper questions asked, the truth will be revealed. If not, they will beat each other to death with meaningless quotes and insults.

I enjoy studying and writing about end-time prophecies. I believe Daniel, Hosea, and Matthew have hidden truths that are only now being understood and revealed. Well, that’s it; I hope to hear from you.

Welcome sir, context surely is key.

Take a brick from a wall and call that the wall .. happens when we get a verse on its own without its surrounding chapter and book.

Well, thank you all for your kind words. Hopefully, after a year of debate and discussion, you all still feel the same way. What drew me to this forum was the article concerning ‘Daniel 9 already fulfilled.’ Daniel is a book, in my estimation, that can never be exhausted. It’s a beautiful work that grows as man’s history moves forward.
I read some 15 or so comments, and what amazes me is the many different thoughts on the subject of tribulation and the catching away of the church. My approach to any discussion concerning any doctrine is, there is one God, one word, and one truth. Two people can be wrong, or one is right and the other wrong, but when two teachers come at each other like two ten-wheelers doing 70 miles per hour, something is terribly wrong.
We are all brothers and sisters in Christ. Those of us who know the Bible understand the world is heading headlong into destruction. How bad is it going to get? Matthew wrote in 2:21-22, “For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. Except those days be shortened, there should no flesh be saved:”
We need to give these verses a great deal of consideration. Our war is not with each other. We must all take a deep breath and understand what the Lord expects from us. It’s truth. We have to search out the truth. Too many walls separate us; we need to work together, one team, one goal, one mind, and one with Christ. There are a whole lot of people out in the world looking for answers because they’re scared. But if the Christian community continues in these selfish divisions, we will lose them. Common sense is lacking. Who would put their hand on a hot stove? Who would try to run across a six-lane highway in rush hour? Nobody in their right mind would do either. We can learn together if we set our minds to it. I’m old now, but darn, I still want to learn more. How do I learn? First, I will go to someone I can trust with God’s word, then ask my questions, sit down, and become a good listener. Well, I bored you enough, so let me thank you all for that warm welcome, and if I forget latter, have a Merry Christmas and a safe New Year.

Correct it.
Matthew 24:21-22
24:21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
24:22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

No one can change the prophecy, especially the prophecy of the Bible.

So sometimes I get confused. Even if you understand what things are, there is nothing you can do.

Thanks for that, not sure how to correct it.
Generally, you can modify the post within 5 minutes after posting, and you can't modify it after the time.

In my opinion, according to the context in Matthew 24, the Great tribulation here refers to the wrong teaching, and no one finds such teaching problematic.
Is there anything more terrible than wrong teaching? I don't think so ..
People are taught the mistake and embrace it. Once someone tries to break it, someone will be attacked by many.

Such as pagans and enemies.
How does God teach these?
1.No longer recognize people according to their appearance.
2. Love your enemies.

When it comes to the second coming of Jesus, people will still make the same mistakes, and people will mistakenly believe in mistakes.Even if Jesus did come, people still thought that he would come late.Still the same problem, people usually believe the wrong teaching.

What does this mean? People usually want to believe what they want, and false prophets and false Christ and false teachers are willing to give them what they want.

Even if the teaching is clear in the Bible, people are as blind as the Bible says.

Welcome to CC!
Please be patient with me. I read your post 3 times, know you were a devout Catholic at one time & have done a lot of studying, but I didn't see if you had accepted Christ as your Savior & Lord. There have been many devout Catholics that never did that, & I wanted to be sure. You see I quit making judging assumptions that folks are already saved a long time ago. I hope that you are, & that we can be both brethren & friends.

Wrong doctrine.
False doctrine.
Maybe.I just said what I saw.
What is more terrible than the False doctrine is that believers use the False doctrine to blame anyone of being a false prophet and false teacher.
Actually, for false doctrines,I am usually very cautious about such topics.
This will be really worst Great tribulation ever.
I mean that when a false doctrine is accepted by most people, on the other hand, false prophets and false teachers will become true in people's eyes, and true will become false.
