The church seems to be awash with prophets and prophetesses all prophesying wonderful things concerning the church in the end times. Magnificent she will be, glorious, bedecked with majesty, all powerful she is ready to seize the reins of power. All around her as earthly rule and power fail she alone will stand.

Get you underground ... that is what I would be shouting from the rooftops, do it now while you have the time or at least get yourself into a position of readiness whereby you may vanish from the public view. The storm is about to break and it will sweep away all before it.

Imagine yourself a prophet to the Jews in the Germany of say 1930, imagine if you were trying to warn them of the horror which was about to unfold and engulf them. Hardly a one of them would believe you, certainly they would not believe the scale of the tragedy about to engulf them.

"We've been through it all before" they might say, "it could not happen, Germany is a civilized country, there is too much respect for law and order, the rule of law, any way German society would collapse without the Jews" those are the kind of arguments you would have met.

You say "have you heard from the Lord brother?"

I read my bible.

I see that Antichrist is imminent, even in the wings. He will oppose [says Paul] everything god so called or is worshipped as God. That is a systematic program for the total eradication of all religion ... and largely he is going to succeed before he can march into the temple and declare that he is himself God. Whatever pact he had going with Israel will be reneged on.

People say it is the Pope, no Catholics will among the first to go, Islam? no they also are too visible, they will be at the front of those to be cleansed. Antichrist is almost certainly a military dictator.

If any Christians are to endure to the end, they will be those who lean upon the Saviour's bosom who hear His secret counsels.
Oh prophets yeah.. Christ said it and to lean upon Christ bosom.. amen. Endure to the end ... the way I think your saying is not the way I understand it :) One could apply that to every believer that has ever lived. We all struggle with trials and temptations we fall we get up and we all endure to the end. When some fall and can't get up other believers gather around and help.. no one is lost.

If I was a prophet? NO no thank you. I know the price. A prophet today can not tell any believer what to do since that spirit that use to be only in the Prophet (OT) is in every believer so He GOD talks directly to His kids. The prophet today does like well with Paul "the person that wares this belt". Told only what would happen. The do from time to time not often tell whats coming. Yeah SO many try to do this every day haha. God have mercy

Your initial premise is wrong. The world didn't ask the questions. There were no such things as Christians yet. Until you find the correct audience, you will assume upon its meaning. Scripture has to first be understood by its original audience. That's the context. Otherwise, scripture is broken. Which time is being spoken of when the greatest tribulation ever takes place? It can't be both. But it's talking to a 1st century audience. Either the greatest was then or Jesus deliberately answered a question He wasn't asked.

Who was asking Jesus questions? It wasn't the world or Jews - it was Christians asking Jesus questions. The apostles followed Jesus Christ did they not? Then they're Christians even if the word didn't exist then (like "rapture" or the "trinity"). The audience are Christians - why would the world or Jews listen to Jesus or read His word? Only Christians would do that.

Also note that Jesus wasn't talking to any particular generation of Christians - He was talking to all of us throughout the generations. As such, every generation would wonder if they were the last generation. This is why it's so important to study the end times in the Bible and see if any of that can be possible in the times that we live in. If you don't want to do that, how can you be sure not to take the mark or follow the end time Antichrist? You just might. Do you really want to live with the dire consequences of siding with Satan against God because you didn't believe what the Bible said about the end times?

Frankly, if any of us were prophets we don't know what we would say because God has yet to put His words in anyone's mouth. A prophet isn't told he is a prophet and then look around and see what he should talk about. True prophets speak what God is declaring.

Was Jesus really just talking about Israel anymore and the old covenant? No, it's about Christians and the gospel. He makes no mention at all about ending the old covenant. And who was He talking to? Not the Jews, but to His followers, the Christians (even though His first followers were indeed Jews).

Read it again:

Matthew 24:4 Jesus answered: “Watch out that no one deceives you. 5 For many will come in my name, claiming, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and will deceive many. 6 You will hear of wars and rumors of wars, but see to it that you are not alarmed. Such things must happen, but the end is still to come. 7 Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places. 8 All these are the beginning of birth pains.

9 “Then you will be handed over to be persecuted and put to death, and you will be hated by all nations because of me. 10 At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other, 11 and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people. 12 Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, 13 but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.

So yeah, no mention of the old covenant. And a few verses later Jesus tells that the end times will be the very worst, even worse that what you're referencing (since the fall).

“For all the prophets and the law prophesied

until John.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭11:13‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The law and the prophets were until John:

since that time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭16:16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

One covenant was broken this covenant was broken by the people

“Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The result of them breaking that covenant is it was fulfilled as the curse

“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.

Fear, and the pit, and the snare, are upon thee, O inhabitant of the earth. The earth shall reel to and fro like a drunkard, and shall be removed like a cottage; and the transgression thereof shall be heavy upon it; and it shall fall, and not rise again.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭24:5-6, 17, 20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But before hat happens God promised to make a new covenant not according to the one they broke to save from that cirse they caused by breaking the covenant

a new covenant in place of the broken one not according to it

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Judah: not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; which my covenant they brake, although I was an husband unto them, saith the LORD:”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭31:31-32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’ll make a new covenant with them not according to the one they broke

The old covenant was a binary choice it could be a blessing if they obeyed it all but it would surely be a curse if they didn’t if they broke his covenant Al the curses would come in fulfillment

thier salvstion from the breaking of the old covenant is the new covenant the messiah came to save them and the gentiles but israel rejected him o my a remnant received him

“And he said, It is a light thing that thou shouldest be my servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved of Israel: I will also give thee for a light to the Gentiles, that thou mayest be my salvation unto the end of the earth.

They shall not hunger nor thirst; neither shall the heat nor sun smite them: for he that hath mercy on them shall lead them, even by the springs of water shall he guide them. And I will make all my mountains a way, and my highways shall be exalted.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭49:6, 10-11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The Old Testament has been fulfilled and e gospel has been declared for salvation from the curses coming from the ot breaking of the covenant

theres a new covenant and there was an old one the old one was broken and became the curses promised in it it was never that zgod would fulfill the blessing of they broke his covenant he promised curses if they did that and they did it for centuries as he plead fornthier repentance they worshipped every god of the ancient world but for him

the worshipped golden cows and praised it for saving them from Egypt , they sacrificed thier children gods chosen to molech , they made idols of a brazen serpent and named it as a god , the built altars on all the high mountains of israel and burned incense to repham and many other gods they made the star of repham thier national symbol ect

osrwel did everything Hod told them would bring them a cirse that would destroy them but for a small remnant he would spare

“Hear ye this word which I take up against you, even a lamentation, O house of Israel. The virgin of Israel is fallen; she shall no more rise: she is forsaken upon her land; there is none to raise her up. For thus saith the Lord GOD; The city that went out by a thousand shall leave an hundred, and that which went forth by an hundred shall leave ten, to the house of Israel. For thus saith the LORD unto the house of Israel, Seek ye me, and ye shall live: but seek not Beth-el, nor enter into Gilgal, and pass not to Beer-sheba: for Gilgal shall surely go into captivity, and Beth-el shall come to nought. Seek the LORD, and ye shall live; lest he break out like fire in the house of Joseph, and devour it, and there be none to quench it in Beth-el. Ye who turn judgment to wormwood, and leave off righteousness in the earth,”
‭‭Amos‬ ‭5:1-7‬ ‭

The Old Testament needs to be read thoroughly through it’s always a binary option they could be blessed or cursed

jerusalem could be destroyed or it could have been saved if they had received the messiah and annointed him as king they just kept rejecting everything God did and called then to sonthoer covenant was broken and the corse came that th ey were warned of but he offers salvstion by the gospel before the end to them then to gentiles

Read about the blessings and cirses of the law and you’ll see how and why the Jews have had such a terrible path for thousands of years and still are hated and despised today by so many who n the world all thoer plight is written on the mosaic law the things they e gone through is all because of the broken covenant

Matthew 24? It's his disciples asking. There were no Christians yet. The new covenant wasn't in effect.

It's just wording, if you don't like the word "Christian" then "disciples" is fine.

The new covenant wasn't in effect, but Jesus was already talking about it - not the old covenant - and what will happen to His followers in the future and in the end times.

It's fine if you don't want to believe that the end time prophecies will happen and has already done so. I'm actually more interested in what YOU and all the other unbelievers will do when all these things do come to pass. I'm wondering who will be so blind as to take the mark of the beast, not believing it is, and follow the antichrist as the savior of the world. :)

It is impossible the RESTRAINER is the Holy Spirit. Christians have been given the Wonderful Counselor to restrict evil in this world and to guide us. Have you ever done wrong and felt the weight of the Spirit upon you?

And the scripture tells us the Day of the Lord cannot come till the antichrist takes his seat in the temple of God and yet you deny what is plainly written. It is when the christians are removed can the antichrist rule in the last half of the seven years.

The Bible doesn't say that it is the Holy Spirit that is the restrainer. It doesn't say Christians will be removed before the antichrist comes to power.

It's all good if you don't believe this, but I AM concerned how you will deal with the situation when the antichrist shows up and you're still here.

Yes, his disciples. So whatever He tells them must concern them? What is their big concern?
In fact Jesus is talking about how the old covenant will end and what that means for Israel.
Question: what did God say would happen if the stipulations of the covenant were not kept?

2 Now concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our assembling to meet him, we beg you, brethren, 2 not to be quickly shaken in mind or excited, either by spirit or by word, or by letter purporting to be from us, to the effect that the day of the Lord has come. 3 Let no one deceive you in any way; for that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness[a] is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

If that is your view then I'll leave your there as there is no point in arguing the matter and is a waste of time. It will be interesting how you deal with it all as these prophecies come to pass. I'm especially wondering whether you'll take the mark of the beast or not.

Anyway, I'd rather discuss these issues with other people who believe about future fulfillment of these prophecies.

Matthew 24? It's his disciples asking. There were no Christians yet. The new covenant wasn't in effect.
you don’t make a connection between Jesus disciples and being a Christian ?

“and when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭11:26‬ ‭KJV‬‬

what Jesus taught them beforehand is what he told them to teach everyone after what was said to them covers all nations

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The whole concept is flawed because that was Gods design to teach a remnant of israel the gospel and send them out to teach everyone the same gospel whoever believes would be saved whoever rejected it would be damned

“And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭24:14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

if Jesus hadn’t said the thing s he did to them we wouldnt know anything Jesus said and then sent to all the world for salvstion

Gods design was to first preach to israel and then send those who believed him out to the rest of the world. It’s sort of a straw man idea that “ Jesus said this to a Jew before he died so it doesn’t apply to Christian’s”

he specifically says “ go teach all nations to observe everything I commanded all of you “

All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”

The whole idea of this audience and that is flawed when your talking about the gospel he’s the same to everyone and his words don’t change for anyone

Frankly, if any of us were prophets we don't know what we would say because God has yet to put His words in anyone's mouth. A prophet isn't told he is a prophet and then look around and see what he should talk about. True prophets speak what God is declaring.
Exactamundo.

Judaism also waits for the fulfillment of prophecy when the messiah would be born and come to restore them …..
Dude, that ship has sailed, lol!

I can't take a mark that has passed, but I do appreciate your concern. Grace and peace.
