My question concerns the following verse in Daniel. Verse 27, "He shall confirm the covenant with many for one week (7 years) he shall cause the sacrifices and the oblation to cease,"
Who is the He? Be specific, I need to know where you get your ideas from.

Who are the many? Again, be specific,

Third, what sacrifices were to cease and when? Again, be specific.

You already know my take on it. The AC will allow the Temple to be rebuilt and thereby deceive many. Shortly after, He shall blaspheme within it. He will likely claim to be the ultimate fulfillment of all sacrifices.

The many are obviously the Jews, who still seek a Conquering Messiah.

Even today, the Jews are making preparations to renew animal sacrifices.

You want specific answers when the verse simply gives a general overview.
Good morning.
Do you think verse 27 of Daniel is a continuation of verse 26? If so, the "he" has to be, either Titus, the Messiah, or the Caesar of Rome. Not unless your jumping ahead 2000 years in the future and claiming it's the antichrist that's confirming some new covenant with the Jews.

Let me give you my thinking on the subject. My interpretation of Daniel 9:27 is, "And he (Jesus) shall confirm (his new covenant) with the (Jews) for (seven years): and in the (middle) of the week (3 1/2) years) he shall cause the (blood sacrifices in the Temple) and the (gift offerings) to cease,"

The Lord brought with him a new covenant, and for 3 1/2 years confirmed that covenant until he was cut off at the cross.

So, three-and-a-half years remain: enter the two witnesses of Revelation who will finish what Jesus started.
Once the Lord was put to death, buried and raised to life, from that moment forward, any sacrifices made by the Jews had no value whatsoever. He was the last sacrifice until the consummation, and the determined (destruction of the Temple and Jerusalem) had already been prophesied. And the dispersion of the Jews (now desolate) to Gentile lands had also been prophesied.

I realize it may be a new thought but give it some consideration. Verses 25 and 26 fit perfectly into that scenario, as does the revealing of the antichrist, the two witnesses and the 144,000.

Any question?

Good morning! You wrote, "The AC will allow the Temple to be rebuilt." From what verses have you drawn that conclusion?

You wrote, "Even today, the Jews are making preparations to renew animal sacrifices." All that is, is wishful thinking. Look around at what going on today in the Middle East. A full-blown war is coming, and America and Israel are in the enemy's sights. There be no Jewish Temple built at the top of Mt. Moriah, not if the Arab world is concerned.

Your thoughts.

Do you think verse 27 of Daniel is a continuation of verse 26?
Since verses were added after the OT was translated, this should have really been in verse 25: And after threescore and two weeks shall Messiah [Christ] be cut off, but not for himself:

And verse 26 should have read as follows: And the people of the prince that shall come [the Antichrist, not Caesar] shall destroy the city and the sanctuary; and the end thereof shall be with a flood, and unto the end of the war desolations are determined.”

Messiah is definitely NOT the same as the prince that shall come. And your interpretation is incorrect, because Christ prophesied of the Abomination of Desolation in the future, but He did NOT "confirm the covenant with many for one week". So this is reserved for the 70th week of Daniel in the future.

When the AC first appears, He will appear to be like a charismatic wonder-working wizard. He will establish a great peace treaty that will seem to make the impossible possible.

Matthew 24:24
“For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.”
(see whole chapter for context.)

2 Thessalonians 2:9
“Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,”

Daniel 9:27
“And he shall confirm the covenant with many for one week: and in the midst of the week he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease, and for the overspreading of abominations he shall make it desolate, even until the consummation, and that determined shall be poured upon the desolate.”

Concerning the abominations, there are two abominations. The first is the antichrists temple, the Dome of the rock that is Daniel 12:11, "SET UP."

The second is future, the antichrist that Matthew 24:15, speaks of is seen "STANDING" in the holy place, alongside his temple. To be STANDING and to be SET UP are not the same.

It's then Matthew 24:16-23 tells the Jews to run to the mountains, run for your lives when you see this man standing in the holy place. Why? Because the greatest purge of the Jews is about to take place, it's the time of Jacob's trouble.

Concerning, "And the people of the prince that shall come."

It wasn't the prince that came, it was the people of the prince. So obviously by saying it's the antichrist you're putting verse 26 into the future, even past today 2024.

And concerning, He did NOT "confirm the covenant with many for one week." Of course not, Daniel said he would be cut off in the middle of the seven years. My thinking is 3 1/2 years remain.

Thanks for the comments.

The verse never mentions the Temple. I asked, what verse are you using that concerns the rebuilding of a temple by the antichrist?

Matthew 24:
13But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

This is speaking of the time of Jacob's Troubles during the latter half of the Trib.

Good morning Komentaja: Thanks for your questions. You asked, "Would you say the antichrist will be a Muslim then?"
Yes, I understand he will be of Assyrian blood. Islam would be his faith.

You asked, "What is the temple spoken of?"
I understand it to be the Dome of the Rock. Keep in mind, it is the antichrist who will claim he is sitting in the Temple of God, and also claim to be God. On both accounts he is a liar.

There are two Greek words for the word Temple in the N.T. The one used in 2 Thessalonians 2:4 refers to the place where the altar of burnt offerings was set up in the court, or in the entrance where Judas could not enter. The word also refers to other shrines, like the temple of Diana. But it definitely is not speaking of the holy place inside the temple. The Strongs Concordance # is 3485, check it out.

This is what the bible has to say about Muslims.

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son, that whoever should believe him shall have eternal life.

So no the anti Christ is neither Jew or gentile the lord has made no distinction.

The anti Christ is a spiritual kingdom on earth full of spiritual beings.

Your quote, "whoever should believe him."

Muslims reject the teaching of the gospel. They reject Jesus as God. Walla! their corrupt Koran.

Isaiah 11:4, "with the breath of his mouth he will slay the wicked."
Revelation 19:15, "he will "smite (strike) the nations."

You said, "anti Christ is a spiritual kingdom." That's the teaching of the Jehovah Witnesses."

I did not say you were a Witness, what I said it's the teaching of the Witnesses. And if I am listening to voices, it surely won't be yours.

Your comments are like the gas a person puts in their car, the more you talk, the emptier the tank gets!

Muslims are not believers in the Lord Jesus. It is believers of whom it is said, "Neither Jew nor Greek," etc.
