I generally like to ascribe things to God, even though they are accomplished through human agency. So I would say that God established David's throne for the good of Israel. In doing so, He pictured His throne and the nature of His kingdom.
understood but you know David was forbidden from building the temple anyway.

Solomon called it the throne of David in memory off his father.

So yes it should be called something else your right.

But Jesus Took the throne anyway 😊

“And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS. He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: and he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭1:31-33‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The messiah was promised to be the son of David David was made king , God swore he would raise up his son to be eternal king and sit on his throne

“Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:30‬ ‭KJV‬‬
I'm not arguing with what is written, just what it actually means. What makes the throne eternal isn't David's presence on it, but Christ's.

I don't think we need to change the language; just understand what it means.

I think it would be better to change it,

Jesus said I will tare down the temple and replace it with his temple in 3 days

So Jesus took over the throne 😊

Jesus has always been on the throne. Jesus has always been the Shekinah glory that filled the temple. That's never going to change.

Brother I quoted that to support your point haha the the eternal throne was for David’s promised son David was king on earth for a time then he died his son was a different promise

It’s just how the prophecy constructs it everything the ot promises comes to oss later as it’s constructed

It’s coming from the promise God made to David as he prepared to die

“Now therefore thus shalt thou say unto my servant David, Thus saith the LORD of hosts, I took thee from the sheepcote, even from following the sheep, that thou shouldest be ruler over my people Israel: and I have been with thee whithersoever thou hast walked, and have cut off all thine enemies from before thee, and have made thee a name like the name of the great men that are in the earth.

Also I will ordain a place for my people Israel, and will plant them, and they shall dwell in their place, and shall be moved no more;

neither shall the children of wickedness waste them any more, as at the beginning, and since the time that I commanded judges to be over my people Israel.

Moreover I will subdue all thine enemies.

Furthermore I tell thee that the LORD will build thee an house. And it shall come to pass, when thy days be expired that thou must go to be with thy fathers, that I will raise up thy seed after thee, which shall be of thy sons; and I will establish his kingdom.

He shall build me an house, and I will stablish his throne for ever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son: and I will not take my mercy away from him, as I took it from him that was before thee: but I will settle him in mine house and in my kingdom for ever: and his throne shall be established for evermore.”
‭‭1 Chronicles‬ ‭17:7-14‬ ‭KJV‬‬

in the ot there are a lot of promises made to Abraham and to David that thier son would bless all people and rule all people

thats what the gospel of “ the kingdom “is about the eternal kingdom promised in tbe ot to David’s seed and Abraham’s seed

David’s seed

“Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (which he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,) concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh;”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭1:1-3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Abraham’s seed

“Know ye therefore that they which are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham. And the scripture, foreseeing that God would justify the heathen through faith, preached before the gospel unto Abraham, saying, In thee shall all nations be blessed. So then they which be of faith are blessed with faithful Abraham. Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus. And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:7-9, 16, 27-29‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭1:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He’s only referred to as the son of David and Abraham because he’s the fulfillment of those prophecies about thier seed who would rule all nations as king through the kingdom promises to David and would bless all nations and peoples with the gospel through Abraham’s promises about Isaac

brother have you ever heard the term “ apocalyptic writing “ the Bible is designed as an apocalypse it’s the style of writing the Hebrews used who were inspired by the Holy Ghost it’s why the New Testament always answers and reveals the old

Jesus has always been on the throne. Jesus has always been the Shekinah glory that filled the temple. That's never going to change.
ot condition

“The heaven, even the heavens, are the LORD's:

But the earth hath he given to the children of men.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭115:16‬ ‭KJV‬

Because of genesis 1 , until jesus became a man this couldn’t happen to deliver mankind from satans dominion he took from man through sin

and after Jesus lived as a man died and rose from death having no sin

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18‬ ‭

God has always been God we know this but he always honors his word from the beginning he had made mankind the authority on the earth

Now he became a man lives like men were meant to live in the Will of god continually perfectly without sin now man regained the dominion through Christ the king of heaven and earth

He was before is now and will always be but he did become flesh and walk among us live as a man died and rose and was exalted as the promised son of man ( who was given earth ) who would sit on the throne of thrones

“And she brought forth a man child, who was to rule all nations with a rod of iron: and her child was caught up unto God, and to his throne.”
‭‭Revelation‬ ‭12:5‬ ‭KJV‬‬

He stepped off his throne to save us and sat down on the throne where he said the son would sit at his right hand until his enemies became his footstool

Of course not. That was Humpty Dumpty who fell.
I've changed my mind I believe @Pilgrimshope is in error.

I believe the prophecy of the lion of Juda returning to defeat the enemy of this world has already been fulfilled,

My heart is content 😊

And it's thanks to you again.

You said something that was totally unrelated to this prophecy that opened my eyes.

You sir are an absolute an blessing 😊

This is the lion identifying the man of lawlessness

Defeating the man of lawlessness

And fulfilling his prophecy

Matthew 4:1-11
At that time Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. He fasted for forty days and forty nights and afterwards was hungry. The tempter approached and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command that these stones become loaves of bread. He said in reply, “It is written: One does not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes forth from the mouth of God.” Then the devil took him to the holy city and made him stand on the parapet of the temple and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, throw yourself down. For it is written: He will command his angels concerning you and with their hands they will support you lest you dash your foot against a stone.” Jesus answered him, “Again it is written, you shall not put the Lord, your God to the test.” Then the devil took him up to a very high mountain and he showed him all the kingdoms of the world in their magnificence and he said to him, “All these I shall give to you if you will prostrate yourself and worship me.” At this, Jesus said to him, “Get away Satan! It is written: The Lord, your God, shall you worship and him alone shall you serve.” Then the devil left him, and behold angels came and ministered to him.

Reflection from the Preface of the Mass:
His fast of forty days makes this a holy season of self-denial. By rejecting the devil’s temptations he has taught us to rid ourselves of the hidden corruption of evil, and so to share his paschal meal in purity of heart, until we come to its fulfillment in the promised land of heaven.

Let’s keep in mind that there are TWO advents of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. There seems to be confusion regarding timelines in this thread.

And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment, so Christ was offered once to bear the sins of many. To those who eagerly wait for Him He will appear a second time, apart from sin, for salvation.

The thread asks the question has the lion of Juda Jesus defeated the enemy

And has the lion of Juda returned.

Returned? I’m trying to understand your question, Thunder. Are you asking if Christ has returned at His second advent?
