Speaking of interesting speculations, did you know that before she appears at the beginning of each performance in her 'eras' tour a huge snake is projected onto the audience and it squirms and wiggles all over the people in attendance. She also mimics the actions of a snake striking when she parades out at the beginning of her performance

Like we do not already know that. AI is going to be unleashed in ways you cannot even dream of. Nude women are always clickbait for men (not saying you went and saw them, just saying what we all know to be true)

I am reasonably proficient with Photoshop and can spot a lot of fakes on still shots through a close look with the Photoshop program but AI generated videos really concern me with the election coming up.

I agree that it is trash news, however we actually need to be aware of what can be done with computer editing software.
Sadly lot of folks will simply believe what they see.

There have been other threads about AI and it's all over the news, including generated fakes and so on

I'm actually a photographer/artist so I am very familiar with photo editing software and have an ongoing interest in AI tech with regards to what is happening in the world of fine art/photography. Some time back there was actually an AI generated painting that one a top award (sorry forget all the details of where and what exactly) and actual artists were outraged and I don't blame them

It's kind of like intact males saying they think they are female and letting them compete in women's sports

That was my attitude, but the reason is because of the deep fakes that AI can generate now in order to create chaos. We should all be aware of this. I would have chosen the news story where Elon Musk blocked access to these on X as the "news" article, but whatever, it is definitely a worthy topic for the news thread.
