Good Evening,

Never been good at introductions so if this comes across disjointed...well it is.

I am a business owner and work pretty much 80 hour weeks and have done so for as long as I can remember...guess that makes me a work-a-holic just like my dad.

I have a wife and 4 children, three still under 18.

Jesus is King and I try to live by the motto: Who am I serving this moment in what I am doing.

A recent growth in the Lord has to do with prayer. I have always struggled with it. Always really wondered what the point is if God already knows everything and the end is already written, but knowing deep down that disregarding prayer is wrong and foolish. I am listening to a book called "Quiet Talks on Prayer" by S.D. Gordon and am seeing prayer in a whole new light. Interesting that it has taken almost 50 years to get some breakthrough in this area.

So that's a little about me.

Shane

Hi Shane, welcome to CC and actually that's a nice Introduction! God does know the beginning from the end but it's still up to us to grow in Him. I've been seeing Scripture in a way more dynamic mindset now than ever before. Jesus said we'll be going even greater things than Him and my goal is to grow in faith. Hope you find many Threads you'll want to chime in on so we can get to know you. God bless & keep you on this amazing journey🙏

Pray for knowledge of His will in your life, and for the the strength to carry it out .:D

" Prayer, a basic fundamental Christian participation.
And being widely regarded as being at the heart of Christian life.
And I believe being so prominent, purpose and intent of prayer has
lost the intended purpose."

Welcome.
So let's see...you are overworked and learning about prayer. Hmmm. Maybe it's just me, but I might pray about some time off.

Hello
first thing that came to my mind is praying just to praise God
He knows your needs yes..
But it also just be a time of worship..
Bring your sacrifice of thanksgiving and praise before Him and it will bring you closer in fellowship with the Lord.
Seeking after Him and just wanting to feel His presence. Read some Psalms during your prayer time. Glory in all he has provided and the blessings he’s given you. Praise Him for how mighty and wonderful He is and all he has created.

Hebrews 13:15
Through Jesus, therefore, let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise — the fruit of lips that openly profess His name.

Psalm 50:14
14 dOffer to God a sacrifice of thanksgiving,2
and perform your vows to the Most High,

Psalm 116:17: “I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and will call upon the name of the Lord.”

there’s also the format of “ACTS” which can be helpful:
ACTS is an acronym that stands for adoration, confession, thanksgiving, and supplication (or supply needs). Adoration: Praising God for who he is and what he has done. Confession: Saying sorry for the hurt we've caused God and others. Thanksgiving: Thanking God for all he has done for us.

Actually, you can read a message sent to you that way, but you can't initiate messages without the membership fee.
99% Is the format you are using now, so probably not a biggie unless you need to reach out to someone personally.

the #1 way to have a relationship with Jesus is to become a born again Christian. God knows everything but we don't. B.A. Christians have an advocate, the Holy Spirit to guide & lead us in life. in fact, the H.S is the only proof that God, Jesus & the H.S. are true. check John 3:33 14:13, 14 & 26, 16:13, 1st John 5:10,13 Romans 8:18, Psalm 119:18, 2nd Timothy 2:7,15, 2nd Peter 1:20,21 & Matthew 3:16,17 for starters.

Really good to know you Shane!!! And it is never too late to learn something. Until about 6 months ago I ignored God and did not have Him involved in my life for almost 20yrs😳. All this, even though I knew better! Anyway, glad you found this place👍
