Isaiah 56:1 Thus says the Lord:

“Keep justice, and do righteousness,
For My salvation is about to come,
And My righteousness to be revealed
.

2 Blessed is the man who does this,
And the son of man who lays hold on it;
Who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And keeps his hand from doing any evil.”

6.“Also the sons of the foreigner
Who join themselves to the Lord, to serve Him,
And to love the name of the Lord, to be His servants
Everyone who keeps from defiling the Sabbath,
And holds fast My covenant
In regard to Isaiah 56:2-7, foreigners were to "join themselves to the Lord;" and "love the name of the Lord;" and "be his servants;" and "take hold of God's covenant." The OLD COVENANT. But to do this they had to be circumcised, for God said: “No foreigner uncircumcised in heart and uncircumcised in flesh, of all the foreigners who are among the sons of Israel, shall enter My sanctuary." (Ezekiel 44:9) When Gentiles thus "joined themselves to the Lord" they ceased being Gentiles and became proselytes to the Jewish religion. They kept the Sabbath AS JEWISH PROSELYTES, NOT as Gentiles.

But where are Gentiles as Gentiles ever commanded to keep the Sabbath? Furthermore, if the Sabbath was of universal application, why were the Gentiles called "strangers?" The apostle Paul, speaking of the Gentiles during the Jewish age, says they were "strangers from the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without God in the world?" (Ephesians 2:12)

And when God gave the Sabbath commandment at Sinai, why did he make it binding ONLY on "the stranger that is within your gates?" (Exodus 20:10) Where is the passage that proves the Sabbath was binding on the Gentile OUTSIDE the gates? All this shows the Sabbath was NOT universally applied. If it had been, there would have been no "strangers from the covenants of promise."

No wonder we have this warning about misunderstanding Pauls words 2 Peter 3:16. Only God can reverse His blessing Num 23:20 and there is no thus saith the Lord that we can forget the Sabbath commandment that He said to Remember and keep holy. Exo 20:8
Oh the irony.

Who did God tell to REMEMBER? Exodus 20:2 - I am the Lord your God, who brought YOU out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage -- The Israelites.

Moses gives the reason the sabbath was given to the nation of Israel: “REMEMBER that you were slaves in Egypt and that the Lord your God brought YOU out of there with a mighty hand and an outstretched arm. Therefore, the Lord your God has commanded YOU to observe the Sabbath day.” (Deuteronomy 5:15)

Sabbath observance was a sign between God and Israel: “The Israelites are to observe the Sabbath, celebrating it for the generations to come as a lasting covenant. It will be a sign between me and the Israelites forever, for in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, and on the seventh day he abstained from work and rested.” (Exodus 31:16-17)

You need to stop conflating the old and new covenants and learn how to rightly divide the word of truth. Sadly, you remain on the old covenant plantation of law.

i found history to be a strong point as to why i believe what i do.

History can be painted in false shads but if you can see the truth as far as the history of Gods people and God's and the prophesy in the bible up until today, it is amazing.

Wikipedia states..... Historicism is a method of interpretation in Christian eschatology which interprets biblical prophecies as actual historical events and identifies symbolic beings with historical persons or societies in the history of the church. This interpretation was favored by the Protestant reformers such as John Wycliff, John Calvin, and Martin Luther, as well as other prominent figures such as Isaac Newton.
According to this interpretation, the beast and false prophet were most commonly identified with the papacy in its political and religious aspects.
If we were to look through church history since the time of the Reformation for the church’s consensus, we would soon find that all roads, or most roads at any rate, lead to Rome. But people are quick to forget...History can teach us lots.

People are quick to forget but also want to stay blind to the truth.

Please read.... A list of quotes from some of the great Reformers and spiritual giants of the past concerning the Roman Catholic Church. Note that these lives before the SDA church and EGW.

Martin Luther (1483-1546) (Lutheran): “Luther … proved, by the revelations of Daniel and St. John, by the epistles of St. Paul, St. Peter, and St. Jude, that the reign of Antichrist, predicted and described in the Bible, was the Papacy … And all the people did say, Amen! A holy terror siezed their souls. It was Antichrist whom they beheld seated on the pontifical throne. This new idea, which derived greater strength from the prophetic descriptions launched forth by Luther into the midst of his contemporaries, inflicted the most terrible blow on Rome.” Taken from J. H. Merle D’aubigne’s History of the Reformation of the Sixteen Century, book vi, chapter xii, p. 215.

Based on prophetic studies, Martin Luther finally declared, “We here are of the conviction that the papacy is the seat of the true and real Antichrist.” (Aug. 18, 1520). Taken from The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, by LeRoy Froom. Vol. 2., pg. 121.

John Calvin (1509-1564) (Presbyterian): “Some persons think us too severe and censorious when we call the Roman pontiff Antichrist. But those who are of this opinion do not consider that they bring the same charge of presumption against Paul himself, after whom we speak and whose language we adopt… I shall briefly show that (Paul’s words in II Thess. 2) are not capable of any other interpretation than that which applies them to the Papacy.” Taken from Institutes of the Christian Religion, by John Calvin.

John Knox (1505-1572) (Scotch Presbyterian): John Knox sought to counteract “that tyranny which the pope himself has for so many ages exercised over the church.” As with Luther, he finally concluded that the Papacy was “the very antichrist, and son of perdition, of whom Paul speaks.” The Zurich Letters, by John Knox, pg. 199.

Thomas Cranmer (1489-1556) (Anglican): “Whereof it followeth Rome to be the seat of antichrist, and the pope to be very antichrist himself. I could prove the same by many other scriptures, old writers, and strong reasons.” (Referring to prophecies in Revelation and Daniel.) Works by Cranmer, Vol. 1, pp. 6-7.

Roger Williams (1603-1683) (First Baptist Pastor in America): Pastor Williams spoke of the Pope as “the pretended Vicar of Christ on earth, who sits as God over the Temple of God, exalting himself not only above all that is called God, but over the souls and consciences of all his vassals, yea over the Spirit of Christ, over the Holy Spirit, yea, and God himself…speaking against the God of heaven, thinking to change times and laws; but he is the son of perdition (II Thess. 2).” The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, by Froom, Vol. 3, pg. 52.

The Westminster Confession of Faith (1647): “There is no other head of the church but the Lord Jesus Christ. Nor can the pope of Rome in any sense be head thereof; but is that Antichrist, that man of sin and son of perdition that exalteth himself in the church against Christ and all that is called God.” Taken from Philip Schaff’s, The Creeds of Christendom, With a History and Critical Notes, III, p. 658, 659, ch. 25, sec. 6.

Cotton Mather (1663-1728) (Congregational Theologian): “The oracles of God foretold the rising of an Antichrist in the Christian Church: and in the Pope of Rome, all the characteristics of that Antichrist are so marvelously answered that if any who read the Scriptures do not see it, there is a marvelous blindness upon them.” Taken from The Fall of Babylon by Cotton Mather in Froom’s book, The Prophetic Faith of Our Fathers, Vol. 3, pg. 113.

John Wesley (1703-1791) (Methodist): Speaking of the Papacy, John Wesley wrote, “He is in an emphatical sense, the Man of Sin, as he increases all manner of sin above measure. And he is, too, properly styled the Son of Perdition, as he has caused the death of numberless multitudes, both of his opposers and followers… He it is…that exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped…claiming the highest power, and highest honour…claiming the prerogatives which belong to God alone.” Antichrist and His Ten Kingdoms, by John Wesley, pg. 110.

Charles Spurgeon: “It is the bounden duty of every Christian to pray against Antichrist, and as to what Antichrist is no sane man ought to raise a question. If it be not the popery in the Church of Rome there is nothing in the world that can be called by that name. If there were to be issued a hue and cry for Antichrist, we should certainly take up this church on suspicion, and it would certainly not be let loose again, for it so exactly answers the description.”

“Popery is contrary to Christ’s Gospel, and is the Antichrist, and we ought to pray against it. It should be the daily prayer of every believer that Antichrist might be hurled like a millstone into the flood and for Christ, because it wounds Christ, because it robs Christ of His glory, because it puts sacramental efficacy in the place of His atonement, and lifts a piece of bread into the place of the Saviour, and a few drops of water into the place of the Holy Ghost, and puts a mere fallible man like ourselves up as the vicar of Christ on earth; if we pray against it, because it is against Him, we shall love the persons though we hate their errors: we shall love their souls though we loath and detest their dogmas, and so the breath of our prayers will be sweetened, because we turn our faces towards Christ when we pray.”

A Great Cloud of Witnesses: “Wycliffe, Tyndale, Luther, Calvin, Cranmer; in the seventeenth century, Bunyan, the translators of the King James Bible and the men who published the Westminster and Baptist confessions of Faith; Sir Isaac Newton, Wesley, Whitfield, Jonathan Edwards; and more recently Spurgeon, Bishop J.C. Ryle and Dr. Martin Lloyd-Jones; these men among countless others, all saw the office of the Papacy as the antichrist.” Taken from All Roads Lead to Rome, by Michael de Semlyen. Dorchestor House Publications, p. 205. 1991.

These are but a drop in the bucket. It would not be difficult to fill a book with similar expressions. Protestants have long held the Roman Catholic Church as the antichrist.

History has so much to teach us...

The papacy was wounded by a series of stabbings over a period of three hundred years, beginning with the Reformation and culminating with the imprisonment of the pope in 1798. What was it that wounded the' papacy? There were five significant developments:
1. The discovery in the Bible of the true way of salvation,—justification by faith,— and the growth among the common people of implicit confidence in the Bible as the word of God.
2. The gradual alienation of its political friends—such as Austria, the German States, France, and England—through both political and religious causes.
3. The passing of penal laws against its followers, and the proscription of its secret societies.
4. The growth of democracy.
5. The final violent overthrow by the armies of France.

How will the papacy be healed? Obviously the papacy will be healed by the reversal of the conditions that brought about its collapse. 1. By loss of faith in the Bible as God's word through the rise of evolution, materialism, and the new paganism, and thus the passing of the "protest" from Protestantism.
2. By the renewal of its political friendships.
3. By the repeal of the penal laws against its members and secret agents.
4. By the passing of democracy.
5. By the restoration of the full sovereignty of the pope.

It is scarcely necessary to demonstrate that these five happenings rank among the great events of the last one hundred thirty years.

The problem is that the Protest has been dieing and the Pope has been riseing, people have forgotten history and the truth is presented with tradition.

“The authority of the Church could, therefore, not be bound to the authority of the Scriptures, because the Church had changed…the Sabbath into Sunday, not by the command of Christ, but by its own authority.”
Canon on Tradition (p. 263)

“You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation, and you will not find a single line authorizing the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday.”
Cardinal Gibbons, The Faith of our Fathers (p. 89)

“Had she not such power, she could not have done that in which all modern religionists agree with her; – she could have substituted the observance of Sunday the first day of the week, for the observance of Saturday the seventh day, a change for which there is no Scriptural authority.”
A Doctrinal Catechism (p. 174)

“It’s the MARK of our authority to over-rule God’s law.”
Father Enright C.S.S.R. of the Redemptoral College, Kansas City, Mo., History of the Sabbath, p. 802.

“Sunday is our mark of authority…The church is above the Bible, and this transference of Sabbath observance is proof of that fact.”
Catholic Record, Sept. 1, 1923

“Of course the Catholic Church claims that the change was her act. It could not have been otherwise, as none in those days would have dreamed of doing anything, in matters spiritual, ecclesiastical and religious without her. This act is a MARK of her ecclesiastical power and authority in religious matters.”
Letter from C.F. Thomas, Chancellor of Cardinal Gibbons on October 28, 1895

Who is the beast, and what is her mark?

All of this has already been explained to you multiple times, but unfortunately, you are unable to see anything beyond your SDA church indoctrination and there is a reason for that. (2 Corinthians 3:13-18) Don't make the same error that the Israelites made. (Romans 10:1-4)

Jesus did not keep the Sabbath according to the understanding the scribes
and Pharisees had. Like you, they believed anyone who worked on the Sabbath
was breaking the law. They also believed His disciples broke the Sabbath.

Jesus wasn’t keeping the sabbath of the Pharisees He was keeping the Sabbath according to the commandment.
The Pharisees were keeping their own rules which is why Jesus condemned them, not who I would want to side with.

Isaiah is a prophetic book. Salvation has not come, we don’t know who is written in the book of Life until Jesus comes and reveals Himself, which every eye will see Rev 1:7. We have not been brought to His holy mountain which is heaven so these are all things to come.

One thing is for sure-God's righteousness is unchanging and we should never want to stop loving or serving Him. God's blessing is not something man can reverse Num 23:20

SDA's point to Jesus' Sabbath keeping yet ignore the rest of His Jewish lifestyle. Jesus also kept Kosher laws. He kept the Passover, Sukkot, Hanukkah, and worshipped in the temple. Are we to follow everything Jesus did under the law?

Galatians 4:4-5 says that Jesus lived under the Law to redeem us from the Law. But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, 5 to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.

Whenever people today set out to keep the sabbath day, are they truly "keeping the sabbath?" To "keep the sabbath" as it was required under the old covenant of law involved compliance with specific regulations (Exodus 16:23; 35:3; Leviticus 23:32; Jeremiah 17:21) that were strictly enforced.

If sabbath day observances are still required today, then so would the burnt offerings which went along with them (Leviticus 19:30; 23:2-3; Numbers 28:1-10; 29:39-40; I Chronicles. 23:30-31; II Chronicles 31:2-4; Isaiah 1:13). So, no kindling a fire in any of your dwellings on the sabbath. (Exodus 35:3) Every man must remain in his place on the sabbath. (Exodus 16:29) No trading. (Amos 8:5) No marketing. (Nehemiah 10:31; 13:15,19)

*These regulations were commanded by God to Israel. (Exodus 35:1-3)

If keeping the sabbath day is still in effect today, then why don't sabbatarians seek to obey ALL that the Lord has commanded? How can someone keep a certain law when they only keep part of it? If the sabbath day laws were still in effect today, then according to Exodus 31:12-18; 35:1-3; and Numbers 15:32-36, anyone who profaned the sabbath was put to death and any person who does any work on it, that person shall be cut off from his people.

Now who is going to enforce that? The Jewish synagogue? The Seventh day Adventist church or perhaps the government? Since we do not live under a theocratic state as ancient Israel did under the old covenant of law, no sabbatarian today can live consistently under these Mosaic regulations.

Biblical hope is not some cross your fingers hope I win the lottery kind of hope. Unlike the English word "hope," the N.T. word contains no uncertainty; it speaks of something that is certain. - Strong's #1680 elpís (from elpō, "to anticipate, welcome") – properly, expectation of what is sure (certain); hope.

Strong's Greek: 1680. ἐλπίς (elpis) -- expectation, hope

If we have saving faith in Christ, then we have this hope. Faith is the substance of things hoped for.. (Hebrews 11:1). So that being justified by His grace we would be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life (Titus 3:7).

These were not genuine believers in Matthew 7:22. Jesus never knew them which means they were never saved. (verse 23)

People who trust in their works for salvation/trust in their best efforts to obey the 10 commandments etc.. could not have assurance of salvation because they would always be wondering if they measured up. Yet ONLY Jesus Christ measured up.

What is eternal life?
You don’t have to agree with me, I’m okay with that. I know what salvation and eternal life is. God is the one writing in the Book of Life, not us. Many believers who think they are saved will not be in His Kingdom- He said so in His own Words, we don’t judge ourselves Christ does. Many never come to the light of God’s Truth, because they want to stay in darkness and only the Truth will set us free. I leave the judging to God, He is our righteous Judge, He knows our hearts and many want the promises of scripture, but don’t want to follow His teachings and there will probably be a lot of surprises in heaven- people who we thought would make it but didn’t, people who thought wouldn’t but did.. Only God knows, I have faith in His judgement.

1 John 5:11 - And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. Praise God! :)

We are not saved by keeping the law, the law is kept though the salvation of Jesus Christ.
