How about this scenario

In church 100% all congregation speaks and knows only english. Someone speaks in Tongues in Russian. Unknown tongue to everyone present, even the speaker. ALL present need and Interpretation in English to know what was said. But both of the speakers are Speaking in Tongues
Then no one would need the Holy Spirit's Gift of Interpretation to understand it.

If it was a human language then it would "not require" the Holy Spirit's Gift of Interpretation.
Anyone could interpret it.
Since it requires the Holy Spirit's Gift of Interpretation, we know it's a Godly language, not a human language.

Without using Google translate, interpret this:

"Inang tua itu makan daging a dua.'

It's a human language. If someone spoke it, you should be able to interpret it.

Since it requires the Holy Spirit's Gift of Interpretation, we know it's a Godly language, not a human language.

And I agree with you (y)
Non sequitur. If no one. IN THE CHURCH understands the language, then it needs to be interpreted to edify others.

But we do NEED the Holy Spirit's Gift of Interpretation. That means it's not a human language.

Explain how a room full of English speaking people, with no understanding of Russian, are going to translate what was said without the use of the internet or any electronic equipment. There needs to be a interpreter.

Because ALL human languages have a dialect. And when you do not understand you still can know the dialect.
Speaking in tongues "has NO dialect."
It needs the Holy Spirit Gift of Interpretation.

Speaking in tongues ''has NO"" dialect.

Bible calls it ""Utterances and Groanings.""
You will NEVER hear a dialect in a utterance or groaning.

What does your theory have to do with the teaching on the subject of the Bible.

Since it is human language, tell me what I wrote earlier means, and then tell me what dialect it is in. I can tell what dialect that is from.

Where does the Bible say speaking in tongues has 'no dialect.' Acts 2 even mentions the people recognizing their dialects in tongues. Dialect is a word used in English translations there.

We are talking about speaking in tongues. You do hear dialects in utterances. Utterances are things spoken. Utter means speak. The word translated 'which cannot be uttered' means cannot be spoken. Compare it to the word used for 'speak' in 'speak in tongues' in Greek.

Acts 2 was the fulfillment of prophesy.

After that, Paul explained it is now utterances and groanings.

If you READ you could actually comprehend.

Btw, someone I know heard a European who did not know English speak in KJV English when he spoke in tongues. Isn't that a dialect?

If you speak a human language there will always be a dialect.
The true speaking in tongues, Paul wrote about, is utterances and groanings. A Godly language. Not a human language.

Romans 8:26
For we do not know how we ought to pray; the Spirit himself pleads with God for us in groans that ""words cannot express""

I think you could benefit from some in-depth studies. I've studied the Bible for 40 years. I memorized Romans and I Corinthians in the KJV when I was younger, the books that contain the passages we are talking about. I've done word studies on the Greek words used and took a semester of Greek (so I'm still a beginner.)

The verse that mention utterances in regard to tongues is Acts 2:4-- they spoke in tongues as the Spirit gave them utterance.

Romans 8:26 says the Spirit intercedes with groanings which cannot be uttered. But tongues CAN be uttered, proven by Acts 2:4. Also, the word 'uttered' just means speak, and the KJV just happened to use forms of the word 'utter' in verses like this and some people who don't know what 'utter' mean try to make a doctrine out of it.

I think you lack understanding. I've been doing this for over 50 years Teaching the Word of God.

My first sermon I preached was at the age of 7 and been in the Calling of God teaching and evangelizing since then. I am paid to teach. What do YOU do for God besides call His Word a Lie?

I think that has been well covered in this discussion. I speak 2 languages and understand some of another. If I speak a second language in church in a language I know but no one else does, that does not make it unknown.

Do you understand that there are almost 7000 known languages in the world today? Further, there are currently known to be 573 extinct languages. (information garnered from Linguistic Society of America). There are languages that sound like a series of clicks and whistles which if someone spoke would not sound real.

Do you have a verse or passage that indicates what you are saying? I would be interested in seeing that. Otherwise, I feel quite comfortable in what I stated.

ps...not really interested in debating with all the unbelievers cause I am pretty sure I have heard/read every excuse ever offered not to mention the nasty comments that often go with that.

8 For to one ""is given"" through the Spirit

10 to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another various kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues.

Verse 8 shows us the Holy Spirit issues Gifts. In verse 10 we see the interpretation of tongues is one of those Gifts.

oh my lands dude! nowhere does that mean it is some language never spoken on earth

I mean who made all the languages if we believe the Bible? something about tower of babble I think?

I usually kind of interpret or get a feel for what I was praying about in tongues.....to me, that would kind of be the norm if a person is to get some kind of idea of clarity about a situation or whatever

well, don't mind me, but if that is your 'proof' text I would disagree and further say to look into the subject better and one verse does not a doctrine make ;)

let me add:

if a person is going to speak a language they never heard well (duh) OF COURSE it would have to be given in a manner not usually achieved, ie through the Spirit.

I dunno, but it seems clear to me as far as understanding goes....
