There can't be any unity. The country is too far apart. Sadly.
We failed to see Rome and how it fell.

The old saying united we stand divided we fall is lost on this country.

all we care about is money and power. and will do whatever we can to get it. no matter who we hurt..

that is american politics.

Hate to say it but, televangelists have more influence than any politician.
imo yeah, it was radio preachers and televangelists making last minute pleas to their congregations that got trump his first term

I can;t fathom where this country would be if Clinton won.

I doubt there would be a country.

we have once again two terrible candidates.
i did vote for Haley in my primary; she was preferable imo
Well she's out now and apparently holding out for "something" before throwing her support to Trump.

Didn't think they were allowed to do that...
lol technically and morally, no.

but was trump going to say anything about it? heck no. he bought them with a promise of supreme court appointments.

and was Obama in a lame duck presidency going to say anything? nope. doing so would have just added fuel to the fire for the RNC that had already spent 8 years dividing the country over him.

I know my pastor didn't say who to vote for. I believe he voted for Trump, not sure this time. Actually he started prayer groups with churches in the city. We have just a small country church. But we hosted and then move on to the next church where there were simply prayer meetings for people to pray about the election. No one was talking or preaching, just come in and pray as long as you felt to and leave. The we met at the capitol building with other churches and prayed. I have never seen nor felt anything like it since. People were everywhere praying, walking in groups around the building. No one was talking outside of praying, just an amazing spirit. Then several groups put their hands on the building and prayed against abortion. I hope pastor does the same thing this year.

She just doesn't have what it takes from a character or personality perspective on America Season 12.

Honestly, and the women here are gonna let me have it, I don't know of any woman I would vote for president. Not even sure for VP. It's hard enough job for a man, just don't see a woman doing it.

I know what you mean and it's a complex topic. But in today's political climate she's very mild for where the rhetoric should be. So everyone's bored. Who wants to hear any politician saying things that make sense? That's boring.
This is why A Politician is a person who's an actor not based on any real-life skills.

But in a perfect world, a woman would be able to run things just fine though.

Well they always said that Thatcher was successful ( if you saw her as such) because Reagan backed her. Don't know enough about that history to comment further.

I was a bit too young to remember the actual political details, but the political climate back then was waaaaaaay more professional than it is now.

Right, same with me. We might be close in age. I remember Reagan, but just. Too young to be thinking on politics or able to understand. But conservatives seem to love him.

To me he was the best president of my life.

He won the cold war without firing a shot

did so much that it was not until the second term of Clinton that the positives he created ceased to be beneficial anymore..
