Romans 10-13 + Galatians 3:5~ Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.Does God lavish His Spirit on you and work miracles among you because you obey the law, or because you hear and believe?

Of course not. There were plenty of people throughout the Biblical era and there are plenty of people now who hear/read the word of God, but unless God gives them understanding -- "ears to hear" -- it goes "in one ear and out the other".

It is obvious even on this forum that some people hear/read God's words/Word, yet they lack understanding.

You cant hear the Gospel Spiritually without being born again, regenerated. Faith is fruit of the Spirit Gal 5:22

Jesus specifically said one must be of God to hear His words Jn 8:47

47 He that is of God heareth God's words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.

Vs 43

43 Why do ye not understand my speech? even because ye cannot hear my word.

Faith is not listed as a fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5:22-23.

Is it because they’re not sincerely seeking God? I don’t know …

I think that if people sincerely seek God (and not their own righteousness), God will give them an understanding of who He is and an understanding of His words.

Faith is actually listed as a fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5. If you made the argument that the faith spoken of there is not the same as that in Ephesians 2 you would have a better case.

What we do is always a reflection of what we actually believe. We can say whatever we like, who we really are comes out in what we do. This was James point about the relationship between faith and works. He wasn't making works an avenue of faith, but a demonstration of it.
