Can someone love because they have been commanded to do so? Can (those) commandments change a heart? No, the heart must be
changed by God for those commandments to be satisfied - one must first be saved, and from that, does a change of heart occur.

[Eze 36:26 KJV] 26 A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh.
Yes, you can only bear the fruit of the Holy Spirit, if you have first received the Holy Spirit.

Jesus performs the heart surgery on us.

Takes a long time to learn that.

Takes a long time to realize that any progress in your love for others, is not due to your own effort.

Yeah, nobody reads the Word of God and becomes calvinist, lutherm or catholic.

They have to be indoctrinated by one of these groups to follow that group.
1 Corinthians 2:1-5
And when I came to you, brothers and sisters, I did not come as someone superior in speaking ability or wisdom, as I proclaimed to you the testimony of God. For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I also was with you in weakness and fear, and in great trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, so that your faith would not rest on the wisdom of mankind, but on the power of God.

What has been happening within Christianity for 2000 years?

What has been happening within Christianity for 2000 years?

It's been getting infiltrated by demonic teaching, that's what.

Matthew 24:4,5
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
For many shall come in My Name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.

*Many includes those claiming "I am anointed" that are deceiving many (false teachers)

1 Timothy 4:1,2

Now the Spirit speaks expressly, that in the latter times some shall depart from the faith, giving heed to seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils;
Speaking lies in hypocrisy; having their conscience seared with a hot iron

("depart from the faith" is not referring to sinners in the world who never came to faith in the first place)

1 Timothy 6:3-5 (see Luke 11:23 and 2 Peter 3:2)
If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, even the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness (holiness); (Doctrine of Christ, aka Doctrine of the Apostles)
He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof comes envy, strife, railings, evil thoughts… Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

2 Timothy 4:3,4
For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine (teaching); but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

2 Peter 2:1-3
But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying (contradicting, Not agreeing with) the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
And many shall follow their pernicious ways; by reason of whom the way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
And through covetousness (idolatry) shall they with feigned words make merchandise of you: whose judgment now of a long time lingers not, and their damnation slumbers not.

Jude 1:4
For there are certain men crept in unawares, who were before of old ordained to this condemnation, ungodly men, turning the grace of our God into lasciviousness (no self control, living after the flesh), and denying (contradicting, opposing Jesus’ teachings) the only Lord God, and our Lord Jesus Christ. (referring to false teachers and false brethren - see Matthew 13:24-30)

Jude 1:17-21
Remember the words which were spoken before of the apostles of our Lord Jesus Christ;
How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.
These are those who
separate themselves, sensual, having not the Spirit.
But you, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost,
Keep yourselves in the love of God, looking for the mercy of our Lord Jesus Christ unto eternal life.
("those who separate themselves" is not referring to sinners in the world who were never joined unto the Lord in the first place)

Acts 20:27-30
For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God.
Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.

Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.

What has been happening within Christianity for 2000 years?
The enemies of God, Christ, Christians, and Christianity have been hard at work to sow tares and spiritual confusion in Christendom. In order to stand against this onslaught, God has told His people to put on "the girdle of truth". and God's truth is found in only one source -- the uncorrupted Holy Bible.

So all Christians were required to make a choice: "Shall we believe the Word of God exclusively, or shall we also accommodate the doctrines of men and demons?" But without the indwelling Holy Spirit, no one can comprehend God's truth. So that is another problem.

At the same time, the letters to the seven churches in Revelation tell us that the corruption and undermining of churches had already commenced in apostolic times. But why did God all Satan and his demons to attack and deceive Christians, when He cold have easily cast them all into the Lake of Fire? The only feasible answer is to test His people. Just as Christ was tested in the wilderness, God wants to test all believers to see if they are willing to stand all alone for the truth. Daniel and his companions were also tested severely. Paul was severely persecuted, the apostles were even martyred. So there is no escaping the testing of God. But there is a good outcome in eternity.

But each one must make choices, and some people choose to be indoctrinated by others. Only some are forced to be indoctrinated (such as in Communist countries). However, every individual can mentally reject indoctrination, especially if they have access to the Word of God.

well commentaries can be like the insertions put into the amplified version of the bible.

Which is misleading and confusing
If you struggle with the AMP translation, do you also struggle with commentaries? The AMP is a respectable translation, unlike "The Message." Now, that is a completely different book. I don't know what that thing is, but it isn't the Bible.

He doesn't pay attention.
Only at christian forums do "christians" nit-pick each other so much. I can't imagine what it's like for brand-new Christians to come to places like this and just get smashed by what are supposed to be their leaders and guides. I wish I were a moderator. This evil would be extracted and permanently dealt with.

And since pretty much everyone has access to the Word of God, this shows that don't study God's Word.

Most Christians read it like it's a story book or something and don't take it seriously.

That's because some "christians" are speaking in behalf of the devil and are actually the tares Jesus warned about.

May I ask Soyeong, what is the gospel?

What is the good news?
In Matthew 4:15-23, Jesus began his ministry with the Gospel message to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand, which was a light to the Gentiles, and the Law of Moses is how his audience knew what sin is, so repenting from our disobedience to it is a central part of the Gospel of the Kingdom, which is in accordance with Jesus being sent in fulfillment of the promise to bless us by turning us from our wickedness (Acts 3:25-26), which is the Gospel of the Kingdom that was made known in advance to Abraham in accordance with the promise (Galatians 3:8), which he spread to Gentiles in Haran in accordance with the promise (Genesis 12:1-5).

Paul also taught the Gospel of the Kingdom/Grace based on the Law of Moses. In Romans 15:4, Paul said that OT Scripture was written for our instruction, and in Acts 15:18-19, his Gospel message involved bringing Gentiles to obedience in word and in deed. Likewise, Romans 10:16, 2 Thessalonians 1:8, and 1 Peter 4:17 all speak against those who do not obey the Gospel.

Acts 14:21-22 When they had preached the gospel to that city and had made many disciples, they returned to Lystra and to Iconium and to Antioch, 22 strengthening the souls of the disciples, encouraging them to continue in the faith, and saying that through many tribulations we must enter the kingdom of God

Acts 20:24-25 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God. 25 And now, behold, I know that none of you among whom I have gone about proclaiming the kingdom will see my face again.

Acts 28:23 When they had appointed a day for him, they came to him at his lodging in greater numbers. From morning till evening he expounded to them, testifying to the kingdom of God and trying to convince them about Jesus both from the Law of Moses and from the Prophets.

In Titus 2:14, Jesus gave himself to redeem us from all lawlessness and to purify for himself a people of his own possession who are zealous for doing good works, so becoming zealous for dong good works in obedience to the Law of Moses is the way to believe in what Jesus accomplished through the cross (Acts 21:20), which is again in accordance with the Gospel of the Kingdom and with him being sent in fulfillment of the promise to bless us by tuning us from our wickedness. Jesus repeatedly taught about the Kingdom of God, such as in Matthew 7:21-23, he said that only those who do the will of the Father will enter the Kingdom of God in contrast with saying that he would tell those who are workers of lawlessness to depart from him because he never knew them. The Psalms express an extremely positive view of obeying the Mosaic Law, such as with David repeatedly saying that he loved it and delighted in obeying it, so if we consider the Psalms to be Scripture and to therefore express a correct view of obeying the Mosaic Law, then we will share it as Paul did (Romans 7:22) and will consider the Gospel of the Kingdom to be very good news, so it is bizarre that people commonly think that it makes sense to interpret Galatians as being in opposition to the Gospel of the Kingdom as being another Gospel.

I don't really subscribe to your outcome here. As respectfully as I can put it across, I think it's possible that the reason Satan and other fallen angels aren't in the lake of fire right now is because they haven't done anything to warrant that happening yet. Satan will be bound for a thousand years and I think it's reasonable to assume that it's a punishment for what he's done, he's not in the lake of fire right now, so I think it's reasonable to presume he hasn't done anything to warrant that outcome.

It takes a lot of hard work to study the Scriptures and make the connections. "A WORKMAN" that needeth not to be ashamed" means exactly that. Just like a miner expends much energy and sweat to dig out gold.

The amp is full if insertions of how peoole have understood what's being said.

In scripture it says do not add to the word of God.

If the Lord Jesus is the love of your life and you have forsaken all for the hunger for the things of God... His yoke is easy and His burden is light. I have nothing other than the Lord Jesus to live for. All else is human excrement and meaningless!

For me it's much joy to study the things of the Lord. It's the way of the transgressor that is hard (Proverbs 13:15)

Well the lake of fire is pretty terrible if you think about it, and unless I'm wrong we do every sin we commit ourselves. We can be deceived by Satan and if I'm correct maybe influenced by him (I think those begotten of God are possibly not affected by Satan directly through "spiritual" means based on 1 John 5:18), but thousands of years of deceiving and possibly influencing people and whatever else he might have been up to might not be enough to warrant the lake of fire or maybe even any punishment in God's eyes right now, though it may cause wrath to build up in God. If Satan turned right now and said to God, "I'll stop, I'm sorry" maybe God would say "I don't like what you did, stand on this moon for 500 years and then you can come back to heaven" but as things stand right now maybe God is like, "I don't like anything he is doing, but he's free to do what he wants" and punishment isn't anything that's even considered. If he deserved punishment right now I think God would punish him.

Actually the lake of fire was prepared for the devil and his angels, so I guess he does deserve it, but perhaps God doesn't see him deserving it RIGHT NOW.

Edit: Ack, this might be stretching what Jesus said, but maybe it was prepared in God's foresight knowing the Satan and his angels wouldn't repent.
