I wrote a letter to myself and posted it online

People without my sentiments said I wasted time

Then I fudged and said they did not understand

That's what I do when others reprimand

I tell them they do not get what I have said

And blame them when I was off instead

So now 16 pages of blah blah blah

And still I carry on

It really is so hard you see

To admit when you are wrong

Poem by Niki and inspired by the op whose dogged determination to commit to a lost cause does inspire some admiration

Ha! I was looking at the wrong message earlier. What you wrote above is what I wanted to mention.

Why? You ask. We can only come to the Father if He draws us, meaning we cannot go to Him otherwise. My friend, this is about Power. The entire Old Testament establishes God's Almighty Power. Christians must learn about Him in the Old Testament, for perhaps by doing so, some might learn what it means to fear Him. God wants all the Glory. He wants to be fully responsible for our Salvation, for if He is not, then of what use is He? The moment He lowers His guard and gives us humans a way to not give Him credit, we will do it in an instant. So the Lord makes it clear that no one, not even by free will, has the internal fortitude to seek God. Their hearts must, absolutely must be prepared (drawn).

The other purpose and this is my opinion and definitely not Scripture, but the fact that the Jews could not obey proves how impenetrable the Curse of the Lord is. There is nothing any human can do to remove this Curse, this Power of sin that Paul said Jews and Gentiles alike are born into. Even when the Blessed Jews had the Law, they still could not obey. They could never figure out that forgiveness was greater than stoning a person to death, even though the Law demanded them both!! But they were Spiritually blinded. They could not see Spiritual Truths! Thus, they were unable to obey, and the Law was just misunderstood, especially that of physical circumcision. They were completely backward on that doctrine.
completely agree 😊

Before he was cast out of Heaven.......

While sitting on his Heavenly throne, alongside in the same area as of God's throne, before the Sons of God just beyond the Stones of Fire. Did Satan look over at God and think to himself, he was equal to God by administrating his ability to use "Free Will?"

Did he persuade 1/3 of the Sons of God to rebel against God using "Free Will?"

Did the 1/3 of the Sons of God who rebelled against God and chose to follow Satan do it out of "Free Will?"

I firmly believe in "Free Will."

Satan doesn't have any free will to be good. He never did.

And for the reasons you wrote above, I can certainly understand why you believe as you do. I once believed I was responsible for all things in my life at one point as well. However, I also believe in the Eternal Plan of God, and that Plan was established before the foundation of the world. That Plan would include all that you mentioned above, however.

Not what I mean. It's all of God's Plan. But when things happen it's up to me how I accept, deny, or view them. That's where "Free Will" exists at. God isn't making my decisions for me, He is putting me into position and places to make the correct choice. But I still can choose to do the opposite.

The Plan of God had to be followed.
… but this was before the foundation of the world—before Lucifer went bad. The plan of God to destroy death (Satan) would begin in this flesh age we live in now. Jesus Christ came to destroy death, which is the devil. Don’t you think?

Inasmuch then as the children have partaken of flesh and blood, He Himself likewise shared in the same, that through death He might destroy him who had the power of death, that is, the devil,

I love that! That is precisely what I mean what I say that our scope and range of beliefs are corralled. They're limited and restricted, for we are not able to veer away from His Holy Plan. So, while we that micro-level of free-will, we are not free to create new choices; new options. We are not free to quit the game. We are not free to start over. Christians have been Redeemed with a Purpose, and it isn't to sit on the sidelines. The Lord's Elect have been wired with hearts that will Love and seek Him, not to mention obey Him. Therefore, since Christians have been fueled by the Holy Spirit, they will fulfill the Plan established that no human can stop nor deny. I think that Jonah pretty much sums up what you and I are discussing.

It's God's foreknowledge. He did not make Satan do anything. He knew what Satan would do and made His Plan including that.
Here's what I know:
Acts 2:23-24 NLT - "But God knew what would happen, and his prearranged plan was carried out when Jesus was betrayed. With the help of lawless Gentiles, you nailed him to a cross and killed him. 24 But God released him from the horrors of death and raised him back to life, for death could not keep him in its grip."

When that Prearranged Plan begins and stops . . . I suppose that is up to debate, but there is Scripture that indicates the Plan has been in motion since the creation of the physical world.

It's basic yes I will do it or no I will not. Yea and Nay. But there's "Free Will" in that moment to choose which one we want to do.

But that is dealing with how Jesus was Crucified. It could have been Jesus just turning Himself in. But the Plan was for Him to be betrayed.

So even though the Bible claims "he thought/said to himself" that he was equal to God, he did it based upon he was forced to do it, according to you?
If he were ever slightly good, he would be redeemable. He was never redeemable.

Yes, it seems like free will, but what if the group next door is given more choices. Is the first fellah with just two as free as those with more? No. The rational thing, to me, is that we have a limited sense of free will. If we don't, then the whole Bible is a complete mystery because the Lord controls people, animals, and even creation all throughout it. The fact that God controls in a primary theme of His entire Work. So, again, if people and even animals are free to choose whatever, then the Bible makes absolutely no sense to me. And if that's the case, I'll be needing some help from those who care to help me.

Nah, we see this Plan of God in Genesis 1:3 & 4. Clear as Holy Day. Those two verses teach Spiritual Circumcision, the Purpose for which Jesus was sent to Earth. This is, as it is called in the Blessed NLT, the Eternal Plan of God.

Ephesians 3:9-11 NLT - 9 I was chosen to explain to everyone this mysterious plan that God, the Creator of all things, had kept secret from the beginning. 10 God's purpose in all this was to use the church to display his wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places. 11 This was his eternal plan, which he carried out through Christ Jesus our Lord."

My friend, those three verses above take us way back into our history, well before the world was created. This passage probably takes us the furthest back into "history" as possible. . . and it is unbelievable. It is claiming that the world is the stage and we are the act. Power. That's what this is about. And we are going to do all that He has predetermined, for He is proving Himself to those Rulers and Authorities in the Heavenly Realms. They are on borrowed time, for they know that we are deep into the Last Days. We cannot go on line this much longer. So all that has ever taken place, and all that [is] taking place, is about Power. I could write a book on this subject, there is so much more. This is only the beginning.

I agree we see it. It worked how God planned it even if His Plan just happened to be another way.

Hmmm . . . I don't see God's Sovereign Power that way in the hundreds of stories to choose from. But maybe words sometimes get in the way. :D
