Matthew 18:10

King James Version

10 Take heed that ye despise not one of these little ones; for I say unto you, That in heaven their angels do always behold the face of my Father which is in heaven.

Just for you Charly the king James version your favourite,

What this is saying is all children are given a guardian angel at birth for protection as they grow.

This is all people being worthy of Gods grace
This is not the gospel message, again this is a perversion of the gospel

I'm sure you're a delight in person too.
I'm actually a really nice guy, I'm even willing to help old ladies cross the street. I have given money to homeless people and handed out gospel tracts, so yeah. Nobody can say that they are "holier than thou"

if you do not have eternal life. are you really saved?

also interesting that in the greek. the word translated "saved" in english literally means to be rescued, to be delivered, to make safe.
Yes, I agree the gift of eternal life is spiritual salvation which is 100% a done deal and cannot be undone.

I do know that eternal life or “aeonian life" does also mean quality of life, but I think both are true and one does not negate the other.

And yes agree on saved, that is why in Matthew 24:13 we read ...But the one who perseveres to the end will be saved.

This means physically saved in context of the wider passage.

I am not able to stay on top of this thread, I would need to go back and carefully read the discussion between you and Paul to really comment further. There are things he says I agree with also.

Sorry but this verse is unrelated, for many reasons. For a start, it's speaking in the past tense. Like someone telling the story of what they observed. It says "when the wicked man" and not "if the wicked man" so you lost the plot there again as you do every other time.

Please don't put your words in Gods mouth, He never said "the ones who listened to the Father".

Every time you add and take away from Gods perfect Word, you become more and more confused and further from the truth.

If you want God's perfect Word you better learn to read the Hebrew, Chaldean, and Greek....

I kid you not.

hes called me the devil for days and many others.

He's evil
Well you can report, ignore and /or disengage.

But engaging just leads to escalation, what is the point.

There are other threads and things like this do not get resolved except people get banned that is all.

I don't report anyone here never do.

I settle disputes for myself.

The fact is since he's been here everyday he's told someone there the devil.

The count is many many people.

The other fact is he's evil

Yes it helps, but only if you can also understand the style of expression/use of idioms within that culture.

In my first language there is a lot of intensity and hyperbole, I think this can be a challenge to understand for those who have been raised speaking only English.

Satan did not know God as his savior. The lengths you go!

But before he fell? He could know the Lord in a state that only a regenerate person can know.
I believe that was the point being made....

Angels come from a unique perspective concerning God.
Adam before he fell was able to know God in a manner that no unregenerate person can know...

Satan before he fell had a perceptive capacity for God that was quite strong....

That discipline is called "isagogics."

My pastor was always studying Scripture and ancient writings. The ancient writings, in part, to gain a grasp for idiomatic expressions, that when we interpret literally? Could cause much confusion if not understood. Earlier today I heard him teach how Paul used a term found in the Greek that we have no English equivalent for and he needed to explain, what in the Greek might require one word, but to make clear in the English, would need several sentences to try to convey what was written to our thinking.

Very interesting!

Exactly, in my first language so many things get lost in the translation to English, it is very difficult to convey that nuance. I feel like it is different than an acquired language because as much as you study and learn the language the nuance is really only understood within that culture, just my sense of it.

I will need to look up "isagogics" :)

Why must I believe those things. I'm not a Calvinist. I take scriptures in context.
If you do not believe in the Fall and that every man is born spiritually dead and enslaved to sin then you do not really need a Saviour and His resurrection and do not believe Scripture which makes this truth very plain.

Eph 2:1 And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins,

Eph 2:5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved),

Mat 8:22 But Jesus said to him, "Follow Me, and let the dead bury their own dead."

Luk 15:32 It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.' "

Eph 5:14 Therefore He says: "Awake, you who sleep, Arise from the dead, And Christ will give you light."

I'm still waiting for you to select one proof-text from your posted menu to discuss taking into account its context. Have you selected one yet?
you need to take into account the whole counsel of God throughout the context of all of Scripture and not any one verse to take it out of context to suit your man-centred perversion of the Gospel.

Isn't predestination an oxymoron at best? This term implies OSAS, and so does Perserverance of the saints. It almost seems that there is a conspiracy to point out the faults of Wesley to defend Calvin's arrogance.

You do not need the doctrine of predestination to be secure in your salvation...
All those the Father draws to completion He then gives to the Son....
And, its the Fathers will that none he gives will become lost!

John 6:37-39
All those the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away.
For I have come down from heaven not to do my will but to do the will of him who sent me. And
this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all those he has given me, but raise
them up at the last day.

He will lose none that come to Him!
Keep reading and you will learn that none can come to Him unless God draws him and it has been granted to him do so.

Joh 6:44 No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.

Joh 6:65 And He said, "Therefore I have said to you that no one can come to Me unless it has been granted to him by My Father."
