I’ve always pondered this one - Hope deferred makes the heart sick. Prov 13:12

I think this could mean seeking God and falling back either through weakness or thinking “I’ll put it off a little longer.” Trying failing trying failing… After awhile the heart gets sick and there’s a barrier after a certain point that seems impossible to get past.

Anyway…

Hello Burn .:). I did a general search of this and found:

Proverbs 13:12 is a verse that reads: "Hope deferred maketh the heart sick:
but when the desire cometh, it is a tree of life" The verse suggests that the
delay of something that is eagerly desired and expected can be an affliction
that is similar to a lingering disease. However, when the good that is desired
and expected is obtained, it is most sweet, satisfactory, and reviving to the soul.

If your really hoping and counting on something and then it falls flat and doesn’t manifest it can really affect your heart and mind and being a lot of grief

it’s best to Hope in truth that cannot fail and will never disappoint

“And not only so, but we glory in tribulations also: knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope: and hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5:3-5‬ ‭
