Misapplication ends up with the same result.....

Now, if misapplications become a noticeable and consistent trend? (n)
I proved myself so I knew what I said was truth.
I will not recant what I have proven as Biblical fact for anyone.

*whips out google to look up big words* ah! I see!
hah!!!

you shoulda seen us back in the old days ... big old dictionary that weighed a ton!

and my mom was pretty fierce. we'd ask her "mom, how do you spell ____(fill in the blank)"? ... she'd answer "look it up in the dictionary" ... now how do I look up psychology ... how would I know it starts with a "p" ??? after about an hour (probably more like 2 or 3 minutes), mom would say ... it starts with a "p".

but, we'd remember cuz we didn't want to have to go back and lug out that old dictionary ...

Just to let you know...

I was not speaking of you specifically.........

What I said (in principle) still stands.

That you have been abusing what you say and claim with a smokescreen of alleged exegesis.
That's an interesting claim. But should you not back up that kind of allegation by pointing to some actual evidence?

This is nothing but a strawman argument. Everyone who has posted in this thread agrees that salvation is wholly of/by/from God.

That you equate faith as some sort of "choice of men" does not transform faith into your stated claim.

Again, this is nothing but a strawman argument.

Because for some reason, some folks believe faith is some sort of work on the part of man even though God clearly states that faith is not works:

Romans 4:

2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has something to boast about, but not before God.

3 For what does the Scripture say? “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.”

4 Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

5 But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness
.
you fail to realise because of a man centred Gospel most today believe it is their choice that saves them and have faith in their faith as the condition unto salvation rather than the faith that God grants as a gift of His grace to trust in Christ and His work alone.

According to Scripture, those who believe in their faith for salvation are still under the curse and are not yet saved and those who die believing it is their faith that saved them will find out that they are in the same company of those who Christ warned about in Matthew 7:21-23 that were looking to what they had done and not Christ.

Jer 17:5 Thus says the LORD: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man And makes flesh his strength, Whose heart departs from the LORD.

Every morning you wake up and CHOOSE what to wear, eat, who to talk to, what songs to listen to… all day long you’re making CHOICES…

God CHOOSES or REJECTS us AND we get to CHOOSE or REJECT Him.
I do not deny that a man can choose anything according to his nature but Christ declared that all who commit are slaves to sin (John 8:34) which is also confirmed again by the apostle Paul three times in Romans 6:6,17,20. Does a slave truly have the freedom to choose whatever he wants?

The Scriptures also declare than since the Fall, man is spiritually dead (Gen 2:17) because of sin which is also confirmed in Ephesians 2:1,5. What can a dead person choose?

The only people who choose God are those whom God has chosen to do so. Please read the list of verses found below to confirm this.
