Understanding foolishness
11 And he said, A certain man had two sons:
12 And the younger of them said to his father, Father, give me the portion of goods that falleth to me. And he divided unto them his living.
13 And not many days after the younger son gathered all together, and took his journey into a far country, and there wasted his substance with riotous living.
14 And when he had spent all, there arose a mighty famine in that land; and he began to be in want.
15 And he went and joined himself to a citizen of that country; and he sent him into his fields to feed swine.
16 And he would fain have filled his belly with the husks that the swine did eat: and no man gave unto him.
17 And when he came to himself, he said, How many hired servants of my father's have bread enough and to spare, and I perish with hunger!
It seems to me that this kid never experienced famine or want, instead he grew up on a family that was wealthy and hard working and thought "why is everyone so serious, we are rich, we should have fun". In his imagination he was going to have all kinds of fun only to learn he had been a stooge and taken advantage of and scammed. After all that a mighty famine arises and this guy descends to the most extreme poverty. Only then does he come to his senses.
I suspect we can apply this to the US. You have two parties in the US like the two kids of this man. One feels you are free to do whatever you wish, the "live and let live" thought. The other describes themselves as being older, they used to be "live and let live" until they got mugged. You don't wake up until you see where this road leads.
Let us be realistic, the US was a very rich country, but we have "spent all". Our leaders and elites have spent it all on "riotous living". And now what? They are being forced to spend all they have on "feeding swine" these ten million illegals the US government has brought in to replace them.

A big misunderstanding
28 And he was angry, and would not go in: therefore came his father out, and intreated him.
29 And he answering said to his father, Lo, these many years do I serve thee, neither transgressed I at any time thy commandment: and yet thou never gavest me a kid, that I might make merry with my friends:
30 But as soon as this thy son was come, which hath devoured thy living with harlots, thou hast killed for him the fatted calf.
31 And he said unto him, Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine.
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.
When a sinner repents and returns to God there is a big celebration. But look at what it says in verse 31 "Son, thou art ever with me, and all that I have is thine". This is in contrast to what is happening with the celebration over the salvation and repentance of the other son.
Yes, when we first come to the Lord we get covered with the best robe, that is the Lord's blood. We get a ring on our finger indicating we are sons of the king. We get our feet shod with the gospel of peace. But we are not "sanctified". That is a process that takes time, it doesn't happen instantly. Nor is it true that "all that God has is ours". It takes time to get the revelation on the various promises of God and to make those promises yours. Nor on day 1 do you have the days and years of fellowship with God.
I was at an event where a brother stood up and shared his testimony of being saved. He was a former felon who used Meth but became desperate, prayed, God answered his prayer and he got saved. Very often it is these testimonies that we celebrate God's salvation and sinners repenting. But I would never trade my fifty years of fellowship with the Lord for that.

Isn't that a weird sign of the end of the age? I get wars, famines and pandemics would cause people to repent and return to the Lord. But the problem with those signs is that many people die, perhaps before they get a chance to repent. So instead we get days and weeks and months and years of "rumors of war". Remember the whole "duck and cover", or the various color coded threat assessments after 9/11, or the doomsday clock, or "fear porn", or mask mandates? These are all rumors that are intended to let people know what is coming, give them a chance to repent, give them a chance to confess that they are not God, they are not all powerful, and they need a savior.

He mentions the Pact for the Future being held at the UN in September. Interestingly, this pact takes place on the 23rd of ELUL, the sixth month of the Jewish calendar, the 9/11 attack on the US also took place on the 23rd of ELUL. That is 23 years from 9/11, which was the 23rd of Elul and will take place on the 23rd of Elul.

This is the rebellion of Korah being replayed right before our eyes.
16 Now Korah, the son of Izhar, the son of Kohath, the son of Levi, and Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab, and On, the son of Peleth, sons of Reuben, took men:
2 And they rose up before Moses, with certain of the children of Israel, two hundred and fifty princes of the assembly, famous in the congregation, men of renown:
3 And they gathered themselves together against Moses and against Aaron, and said unto them, Ye take too much upon you, seeing all the congregation are holy, every one of them, and the Lord is among them: wherefore then lift ye up yourselves above the congregation of the Lord?
Moses is a type of Jesus. These famous princes who run the country have said the same thing against Jesus.
4 And when Moses heard it, he fell upon his face:
5 And he spake unto Korah and unto all his company, saying, Even to morrow the Lord will shew who are his, and who is holy; and will cause him to come near unto him: even him whom he hath chosen will he cause to come near unto him.
6 This do; Take you censers, Korah, and all his company;
7 And put fire therein, and put incense in them before the Lord to morrow: and it shall be that the man whom the Lord doth choose, he shall be holy: ye take too much upon you, ye sons of Levi.
The ones who the Lord chose as Holy was Jesus at the resurrection from the dead. At the end of the age the one who the Lord chooses as Holy will be those who are raptured. Saying these are the sons of levi tells us this is taking place in among the priests, the apostate religion that is in rebellion against the Lord.

9 Seemeth it but a small thing unto you, that the God of Israel hath separated you from the congregation of Israel, to bring you near to himself to do the service of the tabernacle of the Lord, and to stand before the congregation to minister unto them?
10 And he hath brought thee near to him, and all thy brethren the sons of Levi with thee: and seek ye the priesthood also?
11 For which cause both thou and all thy company are gathered together against the Lord: and what is Aaron, that ye murmur against him?
12 And Moses sent to call Dathan and Abiram, the sons of Eliab: which said, We will not come up:
13 Is it a small thing that thou hast brought us up out of a land that floweth with milk and honey, to kill us in the wilderness, except thou make thyself altogether a prince over us?
14 Moreover thou hast not brought us into a land that floweth with milk and honey, or given us inheritance of fields and vineyards: wilt thou put out the eyes of these men? we will not come up.

18 And they took every man his censer, and put fire in them, and laid incense thereon, and stood in the door of the tabernacle of the congregation with Moses and Aaron.
19 And Korah gathered all the congregation against them unto the door of the tabernacle of the congregation: and the glory of the Lord appeared unto all the congregation.
20 And the Lord spake unto Moses and unto Aaron, saying,
21 Separate yourselves from among this congregation, that I may consume them in a moment.
22 And they fell upon their faces, and said, O God, the God of the spirits of all flesh, shall one man sin, and wilt thou be wroth with all the congregation?
23 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying,
24 Speak unto the congregation, saying, Get you up from about the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram.
25 And Moses rose up and went unto Dathan and Abiram; and the elders of Israel followed him.
26 And he spake unto the congregation, saying, Depart, I pray you, from the tents of these wicked men, and touch nothing of their's, lest ye be consumed in all their sins.
27 So they gat up from the tabernacle of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram, on every side: and Dathan and Abiram came out, and stood in the door of their tents, and their wives, and their sons, and their little children.
28 And Moses said, Hereby ye shall know that the Lord hath sent me to do all these works; for I have not done them of mine own mind.
29 If these men die the common death of all men, or if they be visited after the visitation of all men; then the Lord hath not sent me.
30 But if the Lord make a new thing, and the earth open her mouth, and swallow them up, with all that appertain unto them, and they go down quick into the pit; then ye shall understand that these men have provoked the Lord.
31 And it came to pass, as he had made an end of speaking all these words, that the ground clave asunder that was under them:
32 And the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed them up, and their houses, and all the men that appertained unto Korah, and all their goods.
The first threat is that they would be consumed with fire in a moment, like a nuclear strike. Moses and the real priests pray for the Lord not to do that. Then He says get away from them and the ground opens up and swallows them up. This is a great earthquake. We often point out that the great earthquakes signify the resurrection from the dead or the rapture. But it also will signify God's judgement on the rebellious. The rapture is when God signifies who He has chosen, but in so doing He also signifies who He has rejected.

He mentions the last seven years would have start when a Shemitah starts. So then the question becomes does a Shemitah start on Nisan 1 or on Tishrei 1? But common sense tells you it must start on Nisan 1.
1. If you are going to let the land rest for one year you would not start while the harvest is still going on, you would start when people would otherwise be planting and plowing. That is Nisan 1.
2. The law of the Shemitah is for the Jews, not the world. Tishrei 1 is the world's birthday, Nisan 1 is the start of the year for the Jews from the time of Moses and the Exodus. Since it is part of the Law it should be part of the calendar that is based on the law.
