What's the common reason of lose sight of God?

On my personal opinion...

The most common reason people get apart from God is because they lose sight of Him,and focus on "What is my brother or sister (from church) doing? How is he doing it?" and also use them as a model instead of Jesus.

We should use the Bible as our only guide ..and focus our sight on Jesus.

I think that if we get distracted with the things of this world and neglect praying and meditating in God’s Word we will definitely grow apart from Him. I know someone who was a great Christian and a great preacher, but he started neglecting the spiritual things and then fell into sin. He grew apart from God, the church and his family. The key is to “set our minds on the things above, [and] not on earthly things” Colossians 3:2.

Yes Sarah , the key is keep praying and meditation on God .and set our mind to reject bad influences.

For me, I didn't "lost sight of God" I got angry at Him because I didn't understand why a God who says He's a Father of me to neglect me as I constantly pray to Him. I found out through the Scripture that God said "I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show mercy on whom I will show mercy." Exodus 33:19. He said that as He was being very close personally to Mosses. and it's 100% all the way good and right because it is grace to even let the world continue to exists to give me life. We don't understand how badly we commit crimes against all that is right and true and lovely. Love is eternal. To rebel against love is nothing short of depraved. His purposes are difficult to understand. I don't know a lot. I have to admit that or I will not be humble before a perfect God who gives grace to the humble, but opposes the proud (James 4:6)

For me it was a lack of faith. I had trouble believing, and because of that I was never connected to Jesus, and if you're not connected to him then it becomes even harder to believe in him, and seeing the way I was being treated by church members and even my own family well I gave up

I have a fantastic Idea for you it might sound crazy but read me out have you ever tried having a personal relationship with Jesus without the church or your family you know just you and him I know I know the whole faith issue thing but hears the good thing ITS NOT THAT HARD just seems that way many people who claim to be christian seem to have this holier than thou thing going but they are only misleading themselves to their own detriment and we ourselves perhaps place too much emphasis on outward appearances and status so that when we see others indignations toward us we percieve them as looking down upon us. This is not to say we should be indignant to correction if we err either but rather accept it with grace however it be given to us with holier than thou attitude or other.
We all have our own crosses to bear and it's only when we realize our mistakes that we can correct them.

You sound like a woman who has a good head on her shoulders so be not discouraged and regain your faith in Jesus and don't give up, fight the goof fight I didn't always speak this way cause I was once just like you

Many do believe reading the bible is relationship with Jesus, but that is not true at all. As many read the bible, but are on their ways to hell.

Jesus did not come as a bible, he came as a man. He was fully of God and came as a man. Those who killed him knew scriptures very well, but they did not know God at all. These are those that hate the truth. Their righteousness was in their knowledge of the scriptures, and not as righteousness should be wrought, in well-doing and the fear of God.

They did not fear God enough to have mercy. So they perish.

If anyone wants to SEE God, they must seek his righteousness, and his kingdom. Keep his commands.

Well said Ramon and I agree but I think a soft voice of encouragement may be of more effective in winning her back to the Lord Than the fire and brimstone from the pulpit faith procured through positive reinforcement and love will reap 100 fold that of trial through fear you know the old adage you get more flies with honey than vinegar

I agree with you in this point. However, it is important in our daily lives as Christians. James 1:22-25 tells us that we should not only listen or read the Word but obey it. If we don't, then our relationship with Jesus will go downhill. Jesus tells us that we love Him when we obey His commands (John 14:21).

I think that sometimes having problems wears ppl down and they their faith starts weakening because of them. We surely can't follow the Lord without a strong faith.
