Who destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD?
Of course I know of your so-called eschatology.
And it is an horrific dumpster fire of unbiblical madness.

Nothing could be more certain than Christ's return to redeem Israel.
Not destroy.....make alive.

How do you get the future.
"until"
Thats how.

Luk 13:35
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Act 3:21
“whom heaven must receive until the times of restoration of all things, which God has spoken by the mouth of all His holy prophets since the world began.

Luk 21:24
“And they will fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive into all nations. And Jerusalem will be trampled by Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles are fulfilled.

Luk 22:16
“for I say to you, I will no longer eat of it until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”

Mar 14:25
Verily I say unto you, I will drink no more of the fruit of the vine, until that day that I drink it new in the kingdom of God.

Yes we are grafted into THEIR vine, and the branches which were grafted out will be grafted back in.

Folks say "uh oh only if they believe" but they will believe, they will look upon Him whom they have pierced and mourn for Him. Israel will be saved at the coming of the Lord.

We are made co inheritors and fellow citizens of their commonwealth.
I disagree with what you wrote, Evmur.

Gentiles are grafted into Christ not the nation of Israel.

Romans 11:17
But if some of the branches were broken off, and you, being a wild olive,
were grafted in among them and became partaker with them of the rich
root of the olive tree
.

The root is Christ and the Gentiles were grafted in among them and not
into Israel.

In Christ there is no Jew or Gentile.

The nation of Israel was certainly grafted out of Christ.

The letter to the Romans was written to show why Israel failed.

Romans 9:11-13
For though the twins were not yet born and had not done anything good or bad,
so that God’s purpose according to His choice would stand, not because of works
but because of Him who calls
, it was said to her, “The older will serve the younger.”
Just as it is written: “Jacob I have loved, but Esau I have hated.”

Here is where Paul explains why Israel failed.

"according to His choice would stand, not because of works but because of Him who calls"

God's choice was salvation through faith not by works, not by legalism.

God has called everyone to be believe in His Son for righteousness and not by works.

Israel persistently pursued a path of self righteousness via legal works.

Israel can only be grafted back in, if and only if, they believe in Jesus.

But which Israel?

The remnant of Israel or all of Israel?

Under what covenant?
Luke 13:35
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate...

In AD 70, the house of Israel was indeed desolate.

For over nineteen hundred years Israel did not even exist as a nation.

Is modern Israel the old covenant nation of Israel?

Modern Israel has a population that does not believe in God, over 60%
of the population.

The million dollar question then becomes whether Paul was correct?

Romans 11:25-26
For I do not want you, brothers and sisters, to be uninformed of this mystery
so that you will not be wise in your own estimation, that a partial hardening
has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in
; and so
all Israel will be saved
...

Obviously, old covenant Israel will never exist again.

The 2nd verse isn't speaking about the human mind. Also, a closer look at salvation finds God dealing with the heart, mind, and will...Acts 2:37. Lastly, the circumcision made without hands that physical circumcision pointed toward is a necessary part of conversion.
Incidentally, a persuasive orator can persuade the minds of men void of the gracious work of God upon the heart. This is where many legalists come from, who merely bring reason to salvation and render impotent the grace and power of God.

Let's assume the verse you speak of is "Spirit" and not "spirit" then I accept your correction. In looking at it I'm not even certain it's the verse I intended to post.

But you're not addressing the first or third examples, so, do we need to look at them more closely, or do they substantiate what I said concerning the connection between the heart and the mind?

Also, your reference to Acts2;37 does not substantiate what you've attached it to, and what I was discussing is how we interpret faith and whether or not God gifts it.

So, other than your first sentence, you've lost me.

And all Preterists thus find themselves consigned by their theological opponent for their hard work and conclusions to madness in a dumpster fire.

My goodness.

When Spirit is capitalized in scripture, it is generally accepted to mean the Holy Spirit.

I'm not opposed to the idea that the mind and heart being inexorably linked. I would also include the will. But just because the Bible speaks of them interchangeably at times, that doesn't negate them being spoken of separately. Acts 2:37 says they heard. Hearing involves processing sensory information, and so speaks of the mind. It also says they were pricked in the heart. This is an inward work at the core of one's being, our affections. Last, they asked...what shall we do? This indicates that the hearing and the pricking resulted in a change of volition. So while God may use the terms interchangeably at times, in salvation He distinguishes between them. This also becomes the pattern for life in the Spirit...Romans 6:17...but ye have obeyed...the will...from the heart...the heart...that form of doctrine...the mind.

Most people's conception of total depravity is total inability, but total depravity is simply that every aspect of man was corrupted in the fall. And that's what God deals with in salvation: every aspect of man...mind, heart, and will. I believe this is what occurred with Lydia. Acts 16:14-15...the Lord opened her heart...heart...and she attended to the things Paul shared...the mind...and she was baptized...the will.

Why not 1st century?
"I will heal their backsliding, I will love them freely, For My anger has turned away from him. I will be like the dew to Israel; He shall grow like the lily, And lengthen his roots like Lebanon. His branches shall spread; His beauty shall be like an olive tree, And his fragrance like Lebanon. Those who dwell under his shadow shall return; They shall be revived like grain, And grow like a vine. Their scent shall be like the wine of Lebanon.

- Hosea 14:4-7

"But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people. "No more shall every man teach his neighbor, and every man his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they all shall know Me, from the least of them to the greatest of them, says the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and their sin I will remember no more."

- Jeremiah 31:33-34

This will happen when Jesus returns at the 7th trump and the Millennium age begins. The earth will be cleansed of all evil.

It’s pretty bad when people say “If you would study up on this you would see what it’s all about.”

If Calvinism and the anti-Calvinists have to study up on it to understand it, then why do it? Why not use that same energy to go on a fast, and seek God for a breakthrough?

It’s just sad that arguing on an intellectual level devoid of anything spiritual or worthwhile is more satisfying than seeking or working to obey God n any form or fashion.

Sounds like new covenant language, but I don't see anything in those passages about timing.

All that took place after the cross.
Yet another preposterous assertion rooted in profoundly stygian ignorance.

You would think that the 70ad pundits would be extinct seeing the latest geopolitical machinations and goings on in Israel nowadays. Totally obvious as it relates to prophecy.

Buuuutt....no such luck.

Preterists would have better spent their time at the slot machines in Vegas than such an horrifically vain undertaking as kicking Israel to the curb over and over again.
