Men are logical; women are emotional

Oh yes there are many illogical emotional men as well as women I do not belive God made us this way it is by our upbringing and self doubt or self conviction that we become emotional. I.E. we feel very strongly about a certain subject and if what we percieve as an attack on us or something we love it is our natural defense to respond (usually without much thought)

I would have to disagree. It's part of a woman's biological make up to be more emotional because their brains are wired differently. It's called hormones.

I would have to respectfully disagree chemically your brain is wired the same as everybody else as well men and women also have the same biochemical makeup albeit in slighly different ratios mens bodies posess estrogen as well just not the amounts of a woman and testosterone is the vice/versa the only difference between a man and a woman is women carry their genetalia on the inside and men carry them on the outside for as the scripture states woman was taken out of man so how can she be truly unlike him

The whole were different thing or individualism concept is selfish in it's conception and only serves to put up barriers between the sexes.
Are we not all children of God? Yes we can come up with cases to prove either side of the coin on this one

Bottom line is all men are created equal that means WOmen too according to scripture woman was created to be a helper for man this isn't to say we should treat them as property or second class citizens they are our equals TOP to BOTTOM

The thread is not an attack on whether we are equal or not? It is simply to ascertain whether God has a designed purpose for the differences that exist within between men and women.

If we don't understand our differences and the purpose for it, then we could have inappropriate expectations from each other.

I whole-heartedly disagree. While yes, there are differences involving brain chemistry and hormones, whether or not one is logical thinker has less to do with their sex and more to do with their intelligence. I for one consider myself to be fairly logical (I have to be considering I'm a physics major =P) and most women I know are very logical as well. I think the difference boils mainly down to gender roles: women are allowed to be more emotionally open while men are much more restricted. Environment also has a lot to do with it. But you can't just say "Guys are primarily logical and girls are primarily emotional" because both sexes tend to be balanced mixtures of both.

Besides physical ones you mean? Not really. The main differences in terms of behavior between men and women come mainly from the gender roles prescribed to them at birth. Most people tend to follow them pretty strictly, but there are a large number of people from both sexes who don't really fit into a pure gender binary. Many girls behave in ways that are "traditionally" called male, and vice versa.

Again, I'm not saying there is no difference between men and women, as that is not true. There are not only physical, but behavioral differeneces as well. However, I posit that most of these differences arise from the environment, while the biological effect is rather small in comparison.

Once again your focus is on the differences this only serves to put up barriers look for the similarities it's all perception you know.....is the glass half full or half empty

i think so...
we are different of course , women are the weaker vessels we tend to be more emotional now emotion is not bad , overemotion is . the problem is when we become overemotional maybe due to hormones and stuff but God can restore the balance between emotion and logic we have . men's too but with women that's more frequent i suppose..
men are usually the decision makers, the head of families so they are designed to be more to the point .
i'm talking of course about restored men and women , the ones that regained their original balance

Uh thanks. I mean, I'm a feminist, so I kinda care about this kind of thing.

I have worked in retail for 15 years, selling a very emotional product. And I can tell you for certain, in my humble experience, that in most (not all) cases, females make emotional decisions, and men tend to make logical ones. This is not to say that either gender is smarter, but men definitely seem more able to separate their emotions from a decision. Women, on the other hand, will seldom listen to recommendations if they go against the choice that she feels emotionally attached to. I am convinced that God made men and women to think differently, it's just part of His plan. I think it would be terrible if we looked at life the same way. And, yes, I am aware that there are many logical females, and plenty of emotional men. I am only saying that my personal experience largely supports the theory that men and women are fundamentally different, and that it's not a bad thing.

Thanks for your contribution, not just because I agree, but because I am in utter shock that it is not as obvious as I thought to persons, that men and women are different, physically and emotionally and that our approach to situations while both significant tends to be different.

more importantly it has nothing to do with spirituality, which is the only sexless aspect of our being....
