Sounds like you’ve won your argument
Im speaking from experience .

I was Baptised in the holy spirit by God after believing the gospel I was reading.I received it Aug 31,1998 while I was praying in my home .There were no other humans in the house to lay hands on or Baptise me in water.God had done this on his own without assistance .

Mark 16
15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.

16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

I was reading the gospel according to Mathew at the time.

Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.

First, water is not the name of Jesus. So when someone is Baptised in water, they are not Baptised in the name of Jesus but instead are Baptised in water. If they were Baptised in the holy spirit, then they are Baptised in the name of Jesus because the holy spirit comes in Jesus name.Water does not.

Second, the gentiles In scripture received the holy spirit without being baptized in water which proves your teaching is false that man must first be Baptised in water before they can recieve the holy spirit.

You should ask for the gift of the holy spirit so you can be saved.
Note people do not have to be water baptized first. But both receiving the Holy Ghost and being water baptized in the name of Jesus are required in order to experience the NT rebirth. The experiences occur separate from one another as witnessed in scriptures relative to all groups of humanity. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Many are unfamiliar with the fact that the apostles administered water baptism in the name of Jesus in obedience to His command in Matthew 28:19. And it is by God's design that those who believe and obey His command receive remission of their sins. (Acts 2:38, 22:16) In addition, those who do not automatically receive the Holy Ghost must pursue doing so as Jesus revealed in Luke 11:13.

Burn, it's a bit strange, being saved is not done reciting a formula, do you believe this? I don't.

a rich man asked Jesus how to be saved, hear the Jesus words, the son of GOD has to say;

Matthew, chapter 19, verses 16-26 in the King James Version:

"And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life? And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments. He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. The young man saith unto him, All these things have I kept from my youth up: what lack I yet? Jesus said unto him, If thou wilt be perfect, go and sell that thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come and follow me. But when the young man heard that saying, he went away sorrowful: for he had great possessions. Then said Jesus unto his disciples, Verily I say unto you, That a rich man shall hardly enter into the kingdom of heaven. And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God. When his disciples heard it, they were exceedingly amazed, saying, Who then can be saved? But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them, With men this is impossible; but with God all things are possible."

Blessings
Only one problem with this

The rich man should have known he did not keep the commandments, so he should have repented and confessed that he did not *(like the tax collector) but he did not, he went away sad, because he could not keep the first commandment, He loved his money more than God

What? Idk. Romans 10:13. A person can just pray a sinner’s pray “Lord forgive me a sinner.”

Why do you ask? Are you ministering to someone and they asked you that? Or are you asking for yourself?
The tax collector did a prety good Job.

We do not need to say specific words. We have to just have faith that God will save us, Confess and ask for mercy like the tax collector did.

He went hime justified..

I asked the question to that particular poster because he believes unless you keep the law, you will not have eternal life.
Well then no one will ever have eternal life.

for all have sinned and fall short (miss the mark)

I was reading the gospel according to Mathew at the time.
You mention you have received the Holy Ghost. Have you been water baptized in the name of Jesus for remission of your sins?

The baptism referenced in both Mark 16:15-16, and Matthew 28:19 is water baptism. This truth is revealed in each of the detailed conversion accounts:

Acts 2:38-39, 42 "Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, AND ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call.
Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls."

Acts 8:12-17 (Samaritans-half Jewish-half Gentile)
But when they believed Philip preaching the things concerning the kingdom of God, and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women.
Then Simon himself believed also: and when he was baptized, he continued with Philip, and wondered, beholding the miracles and signs which were done.
Now when the apostles which were at Jerusalem heard that Samaria had received the word of God, they sent unto them Peter and John:
Who, when they were come down, prayed for them, that they might receive the Holy Ghost:
(For as yet he was fallen upon none of them: only they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.)
Then laid they their hands on them, and they received the Holy Ghost.

Acts 10:43-48 (Gentiles)
43 To him give all the prophets witness, that through his name whosoever believeth in him shall receive remission of sins.
While Peter yet spake these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them which heard the word.
And they of the circumcision which believed were astonished, as many as came with Peter, because that on the Gentiles also was poured out the gift of the Holy Ghost.
For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,
Can any man forbid water, that these should not be baptized, which have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?
And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then prayed they him to tarry certain days.

Acts 19:2-6 (Disciples who did not realize they had to water baptized in Jesus name)
He said unto them, Have ye received the Holy Ghost since ye believed? And they said unto him, We have not so much as heard whether there be any Holy Ghost.
And he said unto them, Unto what then were ye baptized? And they said, Unto John's baptism.
Then said Paul, John verily baptized with the baptism of repentance, saying unto the people, that they should believe on him which should come after him, that is, on Christ Jesus.
When they heard this, they were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus.
And when Paul had laid his hands upon them, the Holy Ghost came on them; and they spake with tongues, and prophesied.

Acts 22:14-16 (Paul's water baptism)
And he said, The God of our fathers hath chosen thee, that thou shouldest know his will, and see that Just One, and shouldest hear the voice of his mouth.
For thou shalt be his witness unto all men of what thou hast seen and heard.
And now why tarriest thou? arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling on the name of the Lord.

Just get baptized in water for cryin' out loud. Why do people fight this? It's a no-brainer.
If your not baptized By God being baptized in water will be of no benefit to you.

you will still be dead in your sin,

The word reveals that those who believe and submit in obedience to God's command of water baptism in the name of Jesus have their sins remitted. Receiving the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost is required as well. Both experiences are required as revealed throughout scripture. Detailed conversion accounts leave no room for doubt. (Acts 2:38-41, 8:12-18, 9:17-18, 10:43-48, 19:1-6, 22:16)

Saying a sinners rager does not in itself save you. I can say some prayer and never be saved.

It must come with faith.. James said if I claim to have faith. But have no work can that faith save me.. there are many who said a sinners prayer yet have no changed life. Zero works, are they saved?

then you have those who say a sinners prayer, but like the jew who said we must also keep the law (namely circumcision) say we must do work also to be saved (water baptism has replaced circumcision as the means of salvation) in that it is faith plus some sort of religious work, even if it is not falling back into sin. Do these people have faith? Their faith is in their works, As jesus said many will come in that day with all their works, and he will say depart from me I never knew you.

Billy Graham said his biggest regret is he had all these people come forward. Yet he never put then with the right people to be discipled or led to make sure that they were saved and knew what do do with that salvation.

how any people said that sinners prayer, and never entered foot in a church again?

Sorry my friend, Been here done this with you a thousand times, You misrepresenting a few choice verses does nto support your faulty legalistic gospel of works.

I will speak of the gospel. The true gospel that saves. Not a modern day pharisee gospel of faith plus works. Which will never save

I received the Holy Ghost first. It was years later that I became aware of the need to be water baptized in the name of Jesus and had my sins washed away upon obedience to the word of God.

If you were not baptized by God. You did not recieve the Holy Spirit (anointing)

The Holy Spirit must immerse you into his death and Christ (romans 6) His body (1 cor 12) and Christ (gal 5) before he can come into you.

We are dead in sin, the sin issue must be resolved before new birth can take place and God can come into you

No one is exempt from the requirement to lay a proper foundation as commanded by God and revealed in scripture. The items highlighted in the scripture below speak directly to the instructions given in the message first delivered to the Jews at Pentecost, as well as Samaritans, Gentiles, and 12 disciples of Ephesus.

Heb 5:12-6:2
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.

13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.

14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

6 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying AGAIN the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

The foundation is Christ.

You are either BAPTIZED into christ. Or your baptized INTO water.

I was baptized into Christ by God himself. I have a sure foundation.

You don't believe God washed away your sin when he Baptised(washed )you in his holy spirit?

But you believe a preacher was able to wash away your sin by giving you a bath in water years after God washed you?

Sounds very strange.

Paul's explanation in Romans 6 pertains to water baptism. He reveals the reality that comes about upon obedience to God's command.

1 Cor 12 speaks of spiritual gifts. Spiritual gifts flow from those who have first been indwelt by the Holy Ghost as part of the NT rebirth experience.

Gal 5 deals with the error that those who experienced the NT rebirth, as initially revealed by the Apostle Peter, had to comply with the OT mandate of circumcision as well.

Keep in mind that human beings are made up of spirit, soul and body. As such, I believe the requirements associated with the NT rebirth, as set forth by God, deal with each of these aspects. Consider Paul's words in 1 Thess. 5:23. They reveal man can be blamed in any one if not all of these areas:

"And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.:
