I do not disagree with any of this. But I don‘t know how this relates to faith being the responsibility of God on behalf of the believer. Faith is our responsibility and God holds us accountable for failure to believe on Jesus Christ. God is not the one at fault for our failure to believe or endure. God calls us to faith because we are capable and responsible moral agents with freedom to trust in Jesus, or not.
I agree.

There are many who would indirectly lay the blame of damnation of our souls at the nail scarred feet of Jesus instead of the gift of salvation.

The Lord does not pick who will believe and who will not believe. We do not serve such a god.

In the Greek, faith and belief are the same word.
They are the same word, and faith is only spoken of as gift to strengthen the use of the gifts of the spirit in Corinthians, saving faith is not a gift.

Agreed.

Such a god does not even exist.

Saving faith is the faith that leads a person to stop working for their salvation.
Amen.

Therefore, leaving the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ, let us go on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works and of faith toward God,

Yes!!! Otherwise this would be a circular argument...

For since, in the wisdom of God, the world through wisdom did not know God, it pleased God through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe. (1 Co 1:21)

This is just not true. I encourage you to read again the entire book in its entirety.
The book begins with showing how Jesus and the message of the Gospel is greater than the angels and the message of the Law. In fact, the author states in chapter 2,

So, obviously, the topic here is neglecting “such a great salvation.” I.e. if the Israelites rejected the message of Moses and angels died as a result, how much more will we be judged if we (the Hebrew readers) reject the message of the Son? The author goes on to show how Jesus is greater than Moses and compares the Gospel to the message Moses spoke to the Israelites as they wandered in the desert. The author goes on to say,

So again, it’s clear the message here is about salvation. The comparison is between those God saved from Egypt who later died in the desert because they did not continue in what they heard. Likewise, Christian’s should continue in the faith of what they have heard lest they follow in the example of those who died in the desert and did not see the promises of God.

Continuing on, in chapter 4 the author says,

So, as we can see from chapter 1 through 4, it’s clear that the entire message and list of warnings being issued centers around salvation. Moreover, after this warning in chapter 5, the author describes the dangers these immature believers face if they turn away from the faith…

In sum, to suggest that these warnings do not pertain to salvation is to completely ignore the context of these passages. It is obviously and clearly speaking of salvation as 6:9 states explicitly.

It is about salvation, but not spiritual salvation that is done deal it cannot be undone, the message is about the temporal consequences of not living in spiritual salvation but trying to go back to the old system.

What do you mean by “we cant maintain our eternal state”? I think you are conflating two ideas. There is a difference between Christ’s victory being imputed to us to save us and our responsibility to believe in him. If you mean that we cannot earn our own salvation and free ourselves from depravity and death, I agree. If you mean that God has to both save us through the cross and enable us to believe in his saving work, I strongly disagree. The Bible is abundantly clear that faith is our responsibility. Christ has done the work and we are called to believe in him and his work on our behalf. The Biblical message is filled with stories, exhortations and warnings about failure to believe on God’s word and God’s Son. God has done the work, but we are called to trust in his work. The idea that not only has God sent his Son to die for our sins and save us from our sins, but also that he must make us believe in his work as well I find nowhere in the Bible. The purpose of the Holy Spirit is not to make us believe, because we receive the Spirit as a consequence of our belief in him (Acts 2:38). So if your claim is that it is not possible for us to save and sanctify ourselves, I agree wholeheartedly. If your claim is that we cannot maintain our faith in him, then I would say the not only does the Bible not teach this, but it teaches the opposite by the continuous exhortations to believe and endure. Why would God give us such exhortations if it were not possible?
It does, but not to remain spiritually saved.

The new birth (born from above) is once and cannot be undone, this is clear in scripture as well.

I disagree strongly. The rest spoken of from Joshua was the rest from wandering in the desert and inheriting the promised land. This wandering is compared to the Christian and makes the parallel that we also wander in a desert, feeding on manna from above (the body of Christ) to sustain us. Thus, the “rest” being spoken of is the rest of heaven. The promise of inheriting that rest belongs to those who maintain their faith in the Word of God (the Gospel) unlike the Israelites who did not maintain their faith and were hardened by sin and died in the desert…never receiving the promises of God.

What do you mean by “a different kind of deliverance to eternal salvation?” Can you share a verse that distinguishes these types of eternal salvation you are speaking about?

The initial salvation we receive is not a different “type” of salvation. It marks the beginning of that journey of salvation. In fact, Paul speaks of the Israelites passing through the Red Sea as a “baptism” that is to be compared to Christian baptism (1 Cor. 10:1). We enter the New Covenant with God by passing through that water just as the Israelites began their covenant with God by passing through the Red Sea. However, to suggest that once they entered that covenant that they were guaranteed to enter the Promised Land is clearly not accurate as we see the Biblical narrative teach otherwise. Likewise, the Christian is not “guaranteed” to enter God’s rest because of their entering into the covenant. They must continue in the faith. Without faith it is impossible to please God. The only way to finish a race is to start it. However, this does not mean that all who start are guaranteed to finish. If this were the case, there would be no need for the stark warnings in Hebrews that speaks of “burning” and “no sacrifice left for sins.” In the same way, Jesus is speaking to CHURCHES in Revelation where he warns them that the must repent or hold fast to what they have in order to recieve the rewards of the faithful.

Here is the full context of 1 Cor 10 that I think is instructive in this regard and aligns with the warnings of Hebrews…
indeed .

“John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of

repentance

for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“for this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭26:28‬ ‭KJV‬‬
“And Jesus said unto her,

Neither do I condemn thee:

go, and sin no more.”
‭‭John‬ ‭8:11‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

and that repentance

and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭24:45-48‬ ‭

“Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins,

and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭2:38‬ ‭

repentance is part of it as well as remission of sins is the point. Repentance comes because of the warnings throughout the word whether Jesus words peters words or Paul’s words of dire warnings to the church the warnings intent is to press on the believer through faith and produce the fruits of repentance

Paul’s writings also consist of repentance and remission of sins in Christ

often like Jesus in chapter 8 of John it came to a sinner as remission of sins offered freely and then instructions to repent and follow him.

Paul actually details a lot of the warnkngs just like the other aspects of his teachings in tbe epistles

“But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience. Be not ye therefore partakers with them. For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light: (for the fruit of the Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth;) proving what is acceptable unto the Lord. And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done of them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made manifest by the light: for whatsoever doth make manifest is light. Wherefore he saith, Awake thou that sleepest, and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give thee light. See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord is. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ; submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”
‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭5:3-21‬ ‭KJV‬‬

This is a clear informative and instructive section of his letter but often we won’t read what’s there or talk about what’s there as a whole and what it’s really saying because it shakes up our faith a little bit if people told us other things like “ you don’t need to do anything youe already saved and have inherited the kingdom you can’t ever lose your inheritance don’t worry about it .don’t think you need to do anything or stop doing anything “

The messages in the world sound like a sheep’s voice but really it’s a hungry wolfs message “ your saved by faith this means you don’t need to hear Gods word or do anything he said you need to do now “ it’s counter productive to what Paul was really teaching which was in his words

“but shewed first unto them of Damascus, and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the coasts of Judæa, and then to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, and do works meet for repentance.”
‭‭Acts‬ ‭26:20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

That’s part of his message always It’s that yes the lord is our savior and promised salvation but it’s a promise to Jesus disciples those who learn from and follow him not those who dismiss him

That be correct. So God picked all ( Hebrews 10:10), hijacks none gave, gives free choice to believe God in Son for them or not (Believe God, Receive from God and see new) and newer, daily as one grows up into maturity. Son is risen where new life in God's spirit and Truth is given, and governed Spiritually by God, the Holy Spirit, never forcing anything on us, waits patiently for us to see and agree, whatever one is /has done is not good for them to continue in

I, hear you see to not ever take for granted God's grace given us all by his Son's death for us all to receive and believe we are forgiven in his one done work for us all?
Thank you, I see that too. I also see the taking it for granted, is a debauchery.
That is what the Corinthians did, they got the thought from the evil realm, to go ahead and do as they wanted to do,. hey your forgiven, go ahead take her, them, have sex, it is okay, since you are forgiven. Oh and all that food, go ahead eat, who cares if others need it.
That is what Paul wrote to Sosthenes 1 From: Paul, chosen by God to be Jesus Christ’s missionary, and from brother Sosthenes.
The leader of the Corinthian fellowship gathering this letter was given him to read it to the people for them to see this grace given is not meant to be taken for granted as was being done
then, Written, spoken and repented of by them, Read 2 Cor 7 about that
Thank you for standing up for truth, Brother in risen Son, that unifies us

“we are forgiven in his one done work for us all?”

yes we are forgiven because Jesus died for our sins and rose for our justification but also what he said about forgivness is eternally true and will always be true Jesus death which pays for all sin makes it possible for him to say this with Gods authority

“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you:

but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭6:14-15‬ ‭KJV‬‬

jesus paying for our sins doesnt then make his judgements irrelevant or non binding his death and resurrection are what makes his word binding and final bout these things

Do you see how this can’t save a sinner ?

“Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.”
‭‭Ezekiel‬ ‭18:4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

But this can save a sinner

Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful. Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall be given into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭6:36-38‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus dying and rising up is the source of why he’s able to forgive us and give us eternal life but his words are the ways of God

Yes, the scriptures teach that a person can lose his salvation. As w

yes, definitely, you can lose your salvation. And here are the scriptures that prove it:
EXODUS 32:33-“The Lord said to Moses, “Whoever has sinned against me, I will BLOT HIM OUT OF MY BOOK.”
REVELATION 3:5- Whoever overcomes (sin), “ …I will not blot out his name from the book of life.”
Galations 5:4-“ …you are FALLEN FROM GRACE.”
2 JOHN 1:8-“ Look to yourself, that we do not LOSE those things we worked for.”
1 CORINTHUABS 10:12- “Let him who thinks he stands, take heed lest he FALL”
HEBREWS 6:4-6- For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have BECOME PARTAKERS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT, and have tasted the good word of God…IF THEY FALL AWAY to renew them again to repentance…”
HEBREWS 10:35- “therefore do not CAST AWAY your confidence…so that after you have done the will of God, you may receive the promise.
Verse 38- “but IF anyone DRAWS BACK, my soul has no pleasure in him.”
HEBREWS 12:15- “…lest ANYONE FALL SHORT. Of the grace of God…and by this many become defiled.”
HEBREWS 2:1- Therefore we must give the earnest heed to the things we have heard, LEST WE DRIFT AWAY.”
HEBREWS 4:11- “Let us be diligent to enter that rest, lest SOMEONE FALL according to the same example of disobedience.”
Romans 11:22- “…consider the goodness and the severity of God. On those who fell, severity. But toward you goodness IF YOU CONTINUE IN HIS GOODNESS. Otherwise you also WILL BE CUT OFF!”
Read the example of Simon the sorcerer in Acts 8:9-24. He had become a Christian in verse 13. Then he sinned. Peter told him to REPENT and PRAY for forgiveness. The Bible is true and God does not show partiality. If that is what Simon needed to do , then that is what WE need to do when we sin after becoming a Christian. We can trust God’s word.
Not one of these verses speak about losing salvation. Why did you list them?

It does, but not to remain spiritually saved.

The new birth (born from above) is once and cannot be undone, this is clear in scripture as well.
If you could post those Scriptures, that would be helpful. I’m not sure the teaching on this is as clear as you propose…as I certainly have never seen a Scripture that supports this position.

So what do you think it means if God says someone can have their name blotted out of the book of life? It seems to me that their name WAS in the book of life (they had life) and it was blotted out (they no longer have it).

Or, if someone “falls from grace” it means they had received grace (unmerited favor from God) and they fell away from that grace due to their acceptance of a false Gospel of works.

Or if someone is “cut off” it means they once belonged to the vine and were attached to Christ, but then were “cut off” such that they are not longer part of that family tree.

If someone ”loses“ what they have received or if Paul claims to have “wasted my time on you” it means that they had what was promises and “lost” it. Or that the Galatians had received the Gospel (to the point that they were willing to pluck out their own eyes and give them to Paul due to the gratitude they had for the message they had heard and believed) but now his preaching appears to be a “waste of time” because they were “abandoning” the gospel for a false gospel. If their salvation was indeed once for all, then why would it be a waste of time? Even their abandoning the gospel would result in their salvation since they had received it at one point…so their eternal salvation would certainly not be a waste of Paul’s time even if they had turned away from the Gospel at a later date.

The concept of “perseverance of the saints” is based on a philosophical view, not a Biblical one, imo. It was based in the idea of total depravity and that God must quicken the unbeliever and cause them to believe. Thus if God quickens someone, it is his work, not theirs. Thus if God quickens and saves someone, they cannot be lost because God had chosen to save them. However, this philosophical progression is based on a faulty starting point and philosophical conclusions. Biblical texts are explained around this basic presupposition rather than accepting these texts at face value.

Again, if those who are arguing that the Bible “clearly” teaches eternal security and that God grants faith would like to post there passages, I’d be happy to discuss further and change my mind based on what the Bible says. However, to suggest these verses do not teach on the issue of salvation and the dangers of wandering, falling, or embracing a false Gospel I think is false. Please explain what they are teaching if not salvation.

I have a couple of questions:
...how is someone unborn from above?
...how does one get separated from the love of God in Christ Jesus?

Neither of your twisted and loaded questions can negate what is written.
