All Right Everyone,

Sound the Alarm!!!

The Just Desserts Thread over in Singles has started a side conversation about... instant coffee.
And let's just say, it's not exactly winning rave reviews.

What about you?

Picture a very early morning on a very typical day. You stumble to the kitchen, half awake, looking a bit like this:

1720276919700.jpeg

You finally make your way to the cupboard, pull out your trusty stash, only to find... *GASP!!*

You are OUT of your most TRIED AND TRUE BREW, and you have an ENTIRE day you have to get through!

1720276343917.jpeg

What do YOU do?!? :eek:o_O:cry:

(I'm going to include a poll, but please feel free to post your own answers! The poll only allows for a certain number of given answers, so there will be plenty of other things to be said -- and we want to hear it all! :D)

You can also choose as many answers in the poll as you like -- but just for fun, I'm going to make it so that we can see who voted for each choice!

Even if you are (*gasp!*) out of coffee, I hope you'll join us for a "jolting" good time! :D

Well I ran out of creamer which complements the coffee but seeing your thread @seoulsearch :sneaky: gave me an idea to try milk instead. Although I am trying something else like green matcha tea with honey BUT, if I still need the caffeine I'm gonna try milk with coffee.

Thank you for this thread. Fun times in these tough times LOL.

What is "out of coffee?" I have about 12 different ways to make coffee including a Nespresso machine. I order my regular beans online and always make sure to order when I open the last pound. The Nespresso store is also only 15 minutes drive.

Run out of coffee???

Surely surely, the apocalypse is nigh!

I always keep at least one unopened bag in my coffee cabinet! 😁

Seriously, running out of coffee is like running out of TP. Yet, there are many people that don't notice that they're out until they are sitting on the pot.

Well Holy Arabica Beans, Batman!!! Talk about being prepared! 12 different ways to make coffee??

I'm picturing NightTwister having a backup coffee machine in his car, at the office (because what if office machine breaks?!,) in his luggage when he's traveling, on a boat if he goes fishing, in his backpack if he's going for a hike...

If there's ever a Coffee Apocalypse, we know who to call -- and it ain't gonna be The Ghostbusters.

Psst... @RodB651, don't look now, but I'm pretty sure we've found your soul mate!! In a Jonathan and David kind of way!

If nothing else, NightTwister definitely sounds like the neighbor you would want to have.

TP is a topic worthy of its own thread!

Hi Poinsetta!

Great to see you! :) I'm so glad you enjoyed this thread.

Life is hard and every day has its challenges -- I'm so glad to be able to hopefully make people smile with these little threads.

And I like milk in my coffee too. :) I also use powdered milk as a quick, convenient (and possibly healthier) choice in a pinch.

Hope you're doing well and thanks for stopping by!

Hmm...

*The wheels in Seoulsearch's mind start turning...*

Creak, creak, creak.

I just might have to see what I can flush up.

I always get a kick out of the fact that coffee -- and lack thereof -- is consistently one of THE most controversial topics on the forum!

What is this coffee stuff of which you speak?

When I have to depend on coffee everyday, I will consider myself officially old. I'm going to hold off as long as I can though.

Yesterday I had instant coffee because I was being lazy after three days of work... but
today I am going to try to make it out to Starbucks, and venture further beyond, also!

Yes, for travel, it's called an Aeropress. It has a hand been grinder with it, because there's nothing like freshly ground coffee beans. It works kinda like a French Press (yes, I have one of those too).

If there's ever a Coffee Apocalypse, we know who to call -- and it ain't gonna be The Ghostbusters.
There's always coffee at my place.

Why do I have the feeling any confrontation with NightTwister over coffee is going to wind up looking like this:

By the way... Does anybody else find it almost depressingly fitting that toilet paper came up in the coffee thread?

This reminds me of those old Calgon bubble bath ads:

Except for Rodney, it's obviously going to be:

I would imagine Rodney's going to be in there for a while. :D

A true coffee drinker has to think beyond the just the brew.

Even the Bible tells us we have to measure the consequences of our actions!
