The Scripture, instead, says the gates of hell (mouths of heretics) will not prevail against Christ's Church. Matthew 16:18. From the start, much of the church was Greek-speaking. Hence, Greek Orthodox Church. It also spread the gospel for a time in Latin. In Aramaic, Syriac, Coptic, Georgian, Arabic, Armenian, Ge-ez (Ethiopic).
The true Church did not need to be restored because the true Church never fell away into apostasy.
Hence no need for a Protestant Reformation. Rome became a false church after it started believing in its own authority. All authority is given to the Church by JESUS. Therefore, it is the PILLAR AND GROUND OF THE TRUTH (1 ST. TIM. 3:15). Amen.

Well, I doubt I would convert to the EOC, though I do believe Jesus' church would continue past the last page of the Bible. Bought a book from Amazon this weekend on the subject, early Christians.

Eastern Orthodoxy is NOT the church, Roman Catholicism is NOT the church, Protestantism is NOT the church.

Jesus is the rock the church is built on, even Peter said that.

The body of believing Christians is the church.

The church he was talking about is not the Greek Orthodox Church.

Apparently since you're Eastern Orthodox it did need to be restored since your own church broke off over a dispute over doctrine.

Actually if what you were drawing attention to is the part you bolded that is in fact true. All Protestant churches can be traced either directly to a schism of one the original churches of the men he mentioned, or to the faith they expounded.

If there is no identifiable, visible Church, then, Matthew 16:18 is false, and so is 1 Tim. 3:15.
The body of believing Christians all believe the same thing.
Protestants all believe differing things. And Catholics believe differing things from the Orthodox Christians.
The body of believing Christians is the Orthodox Church.

There is a visible church. It is calls a lampstand. A light into the world. A light which draws people to God.

what it is not is a church which uses the armed forces of the roman army and judicial system to force people to believe as they do for fear of death..

Sorry Scott. You can mistranslate those passages all you want wiht your "private" interpretaion. But it does not make your church the truth church!

You don't understand history.
You also would say Romans 13 is false. With no government, there would be chaos. Anarchy. Yes the Constantinian era did introduce Christian government.
As per Romans 13. Before then, the Church was being persecuted. After then, people were free to practice faith without being persecuted for it. Except by heretics, who assail and speak against the Orthodox.

Yes you do follow private interpretation. you follow the interpretaion of men who interpret the bible for you.

what makes you any different than the jews who had to go to the pharisees to have scripture interpreted to them? They were wrong. Your willing to make the same mistake?

And don't try to separate yourself from rome to soon my friend. The separation did not happen until long after rome perverted the gospel with paganism.

Your futurist religious 'kingdom of God' on earth will be doing exactly the same thing EG, in a global communistic 'millenium'.

Nah, actually it wont. Why do you think this would happen? You think God is going to rule with an iron fist and force everyone to believe in him?

Oh wait you already do. I forgot!! No one can believe unless God draws (forces) them.

Your kingdom will be of this world....and your god who will rule it will be of this world too. It will be a bloodbath.

Jesus Kingdom is fully established and has been since the cross.....it is not of this world.

People draw us by offering stuff we need or want. Like my wife. She offered what I needed, and this drew me to her. Like a job. It offers what I need and it draws me to it. Or sin. It offers me what I THINK I need, and draws me to it.

Or God. He exposes my sin, Shows me he is real. Shows me my need for him. and my lack of hope with out him. and this draws me to him.

I know many people who have been drawn to God. but at the last minute decided it was not for them. Does this mean God failed? No.

Like scripture says, the Law was a tutor to bring me to Christ. But one must understand what the law really is to come to Christ.

or I could use the defenition you use, "Drag by force". Which is a valid interpretation of the word. but not the only one.

yeah it will be a bloodbath. As scripture says the rivers will flow with the blood of people destroyed by God for their evil.

But God will not force anyone in the 1000 year kingdom to worship him. This is all a lie to help your case. with no proof.

God is my king. But satan is still king of this world.

As Scripture says, Satan walks around like a routing lion seeking whom he may devour. Satan is not bound.
