what scares you the MOST about getting married ?

Hi, nice to meet. I love to say that no one on earth is perfect and everyone of us make miss takes. Our ability to forgive one another is what God want us to do and this is what that makes us special as human being.So do not be afraid of anything my Dear, just believe in God and trust Him and He will send you the right person who will understand you the way you are.Thanks

Very true and honest answer, my favorite verse speaks of having a fear of God , ISAIAH 66:2. I want to emphasize spiritually speaking there is nothing to fear about getting married on the deepest level of knowing God, for He will protect us and keep us strong in the face of ALL fear. We need not fear things, fear only Him and revere the things we read from His Word (bible).

And, do note, God is a loving God, THE Loving God, the one and only, our fear in Him is not to he a scaredy fear but a fear of reverence in knowing His almighty power is real. His punishment (discipline) comes fo r just reason ALWAYS. THE 'UNJUST' reason , if you were wondering, comes from the one and only life destroyer, Satan. Such a snake, but God is stronger than He, infinitely so. So, what am I all saying by this regarding your fears of getting married???
Have no fear, for God is with you, always, if you hold onto Him, very, very, near. :) Hebrews 13:5

I think the thing that scares me most about marriage is what scares me most about getting into a relationship at all: giving up independence.

I know it will be worth it, but when I really think about the idea of giving up my independence I get a little anxious. I also know it's entirely possible I'll find someone who knows where my limitations are - I seem to have already met some wonderful people who enjoy my company but also respect my space with good balance. Nonetheless, it's scary.

I'm excited to meet the man that makes me want to give up that independence. :-)
 
I belive nothing wil scare me from ge tting married,so far it wz ordained by GOD.

I think that if he loved you enough, he would let you keep your independence. Yes, you should let him know where you are and how long you'll be gone, but that's just so he doesn't worry.

But you should be able to go where you want without limitation. Just as long as you compromise with him, spend time with him.

Actually, I don't mind having to answer to a man, but having kids, THAT'S when I feel I'm giving up my independence.

Just saw your post, makes sense, I am so selfish (I think it's a given to be 40+ and not be married, as they say you get SET in your ways, hmmmpf! :) )

Yeahhhhh.. I know it will work out. Hopefully I want to spend time with him, right? ;-) Actually, I was spending time with a friend a few months ago and started feeling suffocated. He noticed that I was looking at others across a circle - and I think he saw that I wanted to spend time with them. He then said, "You can go. You don't have to stay with me." The mere fact he let me know I could go was enough. I told him I was fine and stayed... until a little bit later when I left. Haha. Anyway, I still appreciate that he understood and demonstrated that people CAN understand independence at a healthy level.

Perdy, I think Proverbs says, ' The beginning of wisdom is knowledge.'

Well, now we know :D

But you keep your independence, milady, until God says, like Michael W. Smith sings in one of his songs....at the right time (pray about things near and dear to your heart all without ceasing), God (jamiecatlover, listening, 2 ? ) you can be submissive to God and give it away :)

Yep i think you're right, if we put too much attention on finding someone we will forget about God :o
 
What scares me the most about getting hitched? Lets see now... 1. Being intimate.. 2. That the guy will marry me..and end up regretting it.. 3. That I won't be good enough for him.. 4. That'll I'll mess up a lot.. 5. I'll end up annoying him so much that he ends up hating me.. 6. That I won't be the kind of wife that God wants me to be (thinking of Proverbs 31:10-31) ahhhhhhhh bleh I think that's all I'll say..

Or...... that she have no sense of humor whatsoever! *gasp*
What.... a truly dreadful life that would be....
 
the thing about marriage that scares me is the emotions that may run through me, im scared i wont be able to control them and cause my marriage to fail.
 
For me, I won't use the word 'scare' but looking back (1993), the thing that concerned me most was whether I can be a good father to our kids (we have three girls today).... :)

So far so good... that's what I am getting from my wife... :D

P.s.. your verse in your bio is cool, sweetnnotreallyshy . My bio verse is Isaiah too, we both have the words 'fear' and 'God' in our verses. Hey, it's not exactly Breakfast AT Tiffany's (song), but....it's one thing we got :D
