But you approve of the "moral uprightness" of the previous man and now the woman?
Hi
@NightTwister,
Yes. Faithful in his marriage. Seems to be of much better moral character than the other guy, to me. I can't speak for how you see it, and I wouldn't be surprised that you don't see the moral issues as I do.
Some seem to think that because one allows the government to work the way that it's supposed to work, that they are evil. I don't. Yes, is there abortion in the country and children are dying? Absolutely! It has been that way for at least the last 50 years and as our government works, it isn't going to change. I don't know why I have to keep reminding a remnant of supposed believers that a democratic republic means that, in general, the majority rules. Do you know what the position of most Americans is on abortion?
Yes, yes, yes. I get it, you're a staunch, "I'm going to save America by stopping abortions" kind of person. But it isn't going to happen friend. Pray for those who find themselves in a position that they would even consider one. Work with groups that will teach our youth abstinence so that we don't have a need for the vast majority of abortions, i.e., winding up pregnant out of wedlock.
Just like with drugs, we're not going to stop the drug problem in America by thinking that we can put all the sellers in prison. It's a lucrative business and there will always be evil people, remember what the Scriptures tell us about these last days, willing to fill in the gap. You're not going to stop abortion, but you can save a lot of young people from such tragedy by teaching them to save sexual relationships for after marriage.
Support has gone up post-Dobbs: polling from Pew Research Center finding that it went up from
61% in March 2022 to 63% in
2024, while AP/NORC’s
polling found a higher jump from 64% to 70% just from July 2023 to July 2024.
If the process of a democratic republic holds, then we're not going to get rid of abortions.
Now, you could try to change the minds of enough people that the government would make abortions illegal, but, pssst, you're still not going to end abortion. That's the whole reason that Roe v. Wade even came to be. It will just be relegated to a back room, and you might put some people in prison, but I doubt an appeal would uphold.
Pray for those who find themselves in such a situation. Share Jesus with everyone that you know. But you're listening a man who doesn't understand how our government works. That's why his first administration was such a failure on pretty much all of his campaign promises. But between the two men, Pres. Biden is a much more moral man and as far as I know, he does know about Jesus. He does know that he's a sinner in need of a Savior. He does know why he sits down to communion. The other man knows nothing of the christian faith, except that they've got some hot button issues that he can play to.
What happened to that promise last time that on day one he would rescind the ACA and give us the cheapest, bestest healthcare the world from eternity past has ever known. I mean that's literally how he speaks about everything that he does. But he gives it one quick stab and sulks back with, "Who knew that healthcare could be so difficult?" Really!!!!!!? It took 2 years to finalize the last one. What happened to balancing the budget the first year and getting the debt paid off in eight? Why do we still have illegals coming across our border now that the wall that Mexico paid for is up? Oh, that's right, he couldn't figure out how to work with the legislature to get it done. He thinks that our government is designed for a despot leader to just go in and tell everyone what they will do and it gets done. Don't you even realize that's why he likes Pres. Putin and Pres. Kim. They oversee governments where their rule is iron fist. You do what I say or else.
Pres. Kim of N. Korea actually made a law that no one in all of the country could name their daughter, his daughter's name. That's the kind of government that the GOP candidate wants to install in our country. No thanks!! While I don't believe that the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness are really what God tells us life is about, I do enjoy that my government allows me to do those things. How many N. Koreans do you think are enjoying the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. Or Russians? Certainly like we do.
But that really doesn't have anything to do with it so much as I just can't approve of all his moral failings and all of his untruths. But this is still the USA and we each get to pull the lever for the one that we think is best. For me, I can assure that there's not likely any circumstance that I would pick the GOP candidate over just about anyone else.
God bless you and vote wisely,
Ted
