My question to you Ted is: How can you justify Kamala Harris' position on open borders and abortion and LGBT-mania? No way a Christian would vote for those views
Hi @Komentaja

I don't have a problem with open borders. I don't remember the part in the Scriptures where God has said that He only loves people who stay where they're born. People move about the earth all the time. Jesus and his family went down to Egypt. I believe that all human beings have a desire to make their life better. I live in the nation that proclaims of itself to be the greatest nation on the face of the earth. That' its people enjoy a vast amount of freedom to seek after their heart's desires. Who wouldn't want that? Then we have a sign on our front door that practically commands all the other nations of the earth to send us their tired and huddled masses.

However, I do believe that we should have more control over our border than we do, but the GOP contender had a chance to fix it and he failed quite miserably. He couldn't get the legislature to work with him because of his combative and degrading attitude with which he treats others. I want a leader who can actually lead. Who understands that we're a nation of over 300 million people and we have established ourselves as government whereby generally the majority rules.

I believe that abortion is a personal decision that a person makes. I do believe that abortion is killing a fetus or baby, but the problem, as I see it, isn't that abortions are legal, it's that we don't teach godly application of the sexual union and so we wind up with this problem of women coming up pregnant when they quite obviously didn't want to be so. In my thinking, if you want to stop abortion, just like if you want to stop the drug abuse problem, you have to address 'why' there is a need for people to do such things. But abortion is a personal choice and it only affects those who make such choices. And I believe that Jesus died for that person, too.

I'm also not in league with the LGBTQ agenda, but just like abortion and drug addiction, it's basically a choice that people make. Now, I've read the Scriptures. I know... yes I know, that as we move along the line of time on this earth until God brings it all to an end, that mankind is going to grow more and more wicked. I know that there's nothing that I can do to stop that. It is as God's word says it will be. People will be doing all kinds of wicked and evil things. Not only will people be doing such things, but others will give approval of such things. God's word says that it will be so bad that people will even invent new ways of doing evil. That's exactly what I see going on.

But I also know that whoever we install as the leader of our nation, isn't going to stop what God has said is going to happen with the attitude and practices of mankind upon the earth. So for me, I want someone to be the nation's leader who is level headed, able to control themselves and is reasonably honest and caring about the people over which they have authority. When I look at the two major contenders, that person is VP Harris. The GOP contender is too mean and cares nothing about anyone but himself. His policies have tended to be more rewarding to the rich than the general population of the nation. He's enormously unwise about how things work. I still chuckle to myself when I recall his words, "Who knew that healthcare could be so difficult?"

Really!? What an idiot he must be to not have known that it took a couple of years of hard fighting to get the plan that we have. He knows nothing about how our government was established to run. He thinks that the U.S. government is some kind of monarchy where what the president says is law. That's not how our nation was established to operate. It was established with a branch, called the legislative branch, that makes the laws of the country. As the president he only gets to support and push for agendas, but it is the legislative branch that actually has to make whatever laws the nation has. He doesn't get that.

He believes he's smarter than even weathermen by taking a sharpie and drawing a hurricane cone that no one in their right mind thought was where the hurricane was going to go. He is not a good fit for leader of our nation. Now, you may think that he is and you're free to cast your vote for him. Me, I'm more inclined to see VP Harris as a better leader. As we see even today, VP Harris isn't out there denigrating absolutely everyone else in the government and everyone that doesn't agree with her. The GOP contender spends a good part of his campaign appearances merely cutting down everyone he can think of to cut down. He calls people mean and derogatory names. He mocks other world leaders and pretends to think that he knows some of the worst leaders of our world as his freinds.

Sorry, I'm voting for the person who seems to have their head screwed on straight and not the one who thinks he's the only person in all of the world that can fix what ails us. And honestly, I get so sick and tired of hearing him crow about how great he is and that nothing in the world can be done better than he does it. He wants to make himself like a god and apparently there are many who want to help him do that. I'm not one of them.

God didn't send this GOP contender to save us. He sent Jesus for that.

God bless you and vote wisely,
Ted

Hi @Komentaja

And the man is such a bold-faced liar. He went on national television and had his assistant hold up a fairly thick folder that he said contained his greater than great, cheaper than cheap, best healthcare plan the world has ever seen. It did not. And he knew it did not, because he hadn't ever put down on paper what his greater than great, cheaper than cheap healthcare plan is. And he knew that when he tried to tell us all that the assistant over there was holding the folder that contained his plan.

He promised to build a wall, but he didn't have the leadership skills to get the legislature on board to get it done. The only thing he was able to accomplish was what he could do by EO. In other words, the things that he did have some leeway in to say, "Well, I'm the king and this is how it shall be!"

Yes, I'm voting for a more seasoned person in the workings of our government. I'm not interested in voting for someone who seems to want to be a despot monarch type of leader.

God bless and vote wisely.

"Disagree"? Just like you "disagree" about Kamala and Willie Brown?

Since you are suffering from Trump Derangement Syndrome, you will never see that this mental, emotional, and spiritual condition is rooted in hatred. All the persecution that Trump has endured FOR NOTHING since 2016 is rooted in hatred for him and what he wants to do (which is to make America Great Again).

So all you have to do is follow the events following his winning in 2016, and see what was done to him (if you are prepared to be objective). Not a single one of your opinions of Trump has any merit, since you did not look at his performance fairly and how his enemies went after him for no reason. And fairness and righteous judgment is demanded of every Christian.
Hi @Nehemiah6

I'm confused as to why you quoted my post. Your following response didn't seem to have anything to do with it.

Honestly, I don't know what the Kamala and Willie Brown inference is supposed to mean. But yes, I agree that the man himself is pretty much hated by a vast majority of the people that he works with and comes into contact with. That's just another reason why I don't see him as a viable leader. He can't get anyone to work with him because of his general meanness and attacking towards others. Not a leader type in my understanding.

You're welcome to cry about how he's been so mistreated, but you'd be blind to not see that he brings it on himself.

God bless,
Ted

https://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2024/08/msnbc-contributor-praises-tim-walz-suggesting-he-will/

MSNBC contributor Anand Giridharadas appeared on Morning Joe this week and praised the choice of Tim Walz as Kamala Harris’s running mate.

Naturally, he made it all about race, suggesting that Walz alongside Harris will make it easier for older, white people to see the ‘joy’ that will unfold under their administration. He even suggested that Walz will make people see the “joy in having your boss be a Black woman” whatever that means.

Identity politics is everything for the left. It’s all they care about.

TL;DR for the people who don't bother reading this. This guy just called Kamala Harris a person who "have their head screwed on straight".

You said
People will be doing all kinds of wicked and evil things. Not only will people be doing such things, but others will give approval of such things.
And by voting for Harris that is EXACTLY what you are doing. You are voting for more wickedness, you are voting for more rapefugees, more scum of the earth entering into your nation, more drugs, more immorality.

I have zero respect for you as a human being. Be ashamed of yourself. I am not from the United States, but God help us and I do mean us, as in the whole world if Kamala Harris becomes president. She is a wishywashy liberal who approves of everything evil under the sun

Hi again @Komentaja

So, tell me. The GOP contender has already had a four year stint, what did he do to quell the immorality so that it wasn't more during his administration? Did he pass laws, no he couldn't pass any laws because he couldn't get the legislature to work with him, but did he have some initiative going to make divorce illegal? How about greed? Did any of his work in his previous adminsitration address the issue of greed that God's word addresses as a vast cause of our sin? I mean, Paul wrote a fairly extensive list of all the sin that would be coming on the world. Did any of the previous administration address any of those?

Here's the list: They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they invent ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy.

What laws were passed during the administration in question here, that addressed any of this?

God bless and vote wisely,
Ted

Oh, and for the record, immigration, legal or otherwise, isn't one of the sins that Paul writes about. Why do you think that it's a sin for someone to up and move themselves or their family to another place on the face of the earth?

Because they are violating the laws of the land they are entering. Peter said to obey the laws of the land, to obey human . So did Paul.

Hi @Komentaja

Oh, so it was ok to get an abortion when it was the ordinance of man to allow such a thing. What's everyone so excited about? It 's ok with God that we are overrun with divorce because the ordinance of man allows it.

Got it!

Ok, Jesus wasn't a refugee, that foolishness that libs started memes on was easily debunked. They had borders in the Bible. We do not say "send us all your illegals". People need to come legally. It has nothing to do with the love of God, every single country in the world has laws. Come legally, obey the laws here and you can stay.

However, I do believe that we should have more control over our border than we do, but the GOP contender had a chance to fix it and he failed quite miserably.
No, that's nonsense. Just ridiculous comment. But hey, now I know I'm dealing with a far leftist at least.

He couldn't get the legislature to work with him because of his combative and degrading attitude with which he treats others. I want a leader who can actually lead. Who understands that we're a nation of over 300 million people and we have established ourselves as government whereby generally the majority rules.
And there it is. Someone failed civics class miserably. I'm starting to see what the problem is.

Like the baby that is murdered? The loss of these innocent ones doesn't affect society? What a very blinded comment. But if libs want to keep murdering their next generation of voters and are dumb enough to believe abortion affects no one, maybe we should just step aside and let you have your way. smh Of course Jesus died for them and the aborted child too, that's why you're supposed to be standing against abortion and speaking the Gospel into their lives.

I'm also not in league with the LGBTQ agenda, but just like abortion and drug addiction, it's basically a choice that people make. Now, I've read the Scriptures. Have you ever heard of "this little light of mine"? We are to stand for what is right. Or we should have let Hitler kill the Jews because things will get worse, shrug. They are teaching this in school. So should you just let it be? I don't think the Bible says what you think it does.

. So for me, I want someone to be the nation's leader who is level headed, able to control themselves and is reasonably honest and caring about the people over which they have authority. Harris is changing everything she said she was against. That is not level headed. She joked about smoking weed after she had thrown people in prison for doing the same thing. That's not honest nor caring. And anyone can look at Cali. and know the last thing they do there is help the poor.

Yeah, I don't think you need to be telling anyone how gov't is run. I think you need a few more lessons yourself. I wasn't even born here and I know gov't isn't run by the majority.

.He believes he's smarter than even weathermen by taking a sharpie and drawing a hurricane cone that no one in their right mind thought was where the hurricane was going to go.
He didn't call north Korea our ally. Harris is dumb as a brick. smh

.He is not a good fit for leader of our nation. Now, you may think that he is and you're free to cast your vote for him.
He's already been leader. And we sure didn't have the cluster :poop: we have now.

Me, I'm more inclined to see VP Harris as a better leader.
So what has she done in 4yrs that proves she can run a country, let alone deal with foreign issues.

Sorry, I'm voting for the person who seems to have their head screwed on straight
I think you need to do a little more research before you back Harris. You seem to know nothing about her.

Ok, Jesus wasn't a refugee,
I don't know who you're responding to. I never said that Jesus was a refugee. I said that Jesus, and his family, immigrated to Egypt.

We do not say "send us all your illegals".
Of course we don't say 'send us all your illegals'. They aren't illegals in the place where they come from. Man!!!! You got it bad, huh! But we do have a sign on our front door telling all the nations to send us their poor and their huddled masses. You're free to make of that what you will, but to me it pretty much says that anyone can come to America. Yes, I would hope that they obey our civil laws and I think that most of them do.

But hey, now I know I'm dealing with a far leftist at least.
Yes, I would agree that based on your definition of 'leftism', that's likely true. BTW what is your definition of 'leftism'?

Someone failed civics class miserably. I'm starting to see what the problem is.
Yes, apparently someone did, but I disagree as to who. Our nation is established as a democratic republic

It is not always so easy to define what kind of government the United States has. You could call it a democracy, a republic or a number of other things.

A government that is run by elected officials is called a republic.

While it is true that democracies are characterized by the power of the people to influence the government through voting, as in a representative democracy, direct democracy would be managed by the people themselves.

This is more akin to some local governments within the United States, especially in rural areas where townspeople sometimes come together to discuss issues and vote on actions.

In those instances, the people act as both the voters and the governing body.

However, such a process would be cumbersome on a state government and federal level. Hence, citizens vote to elect representatives to speak on their behalf instead of participating in debates themselves.
(from: constitutionus.com)

Yes, our government is a democratic republic in that we each individually get to vote for our representatives who should then do what the will of the majority of the people within their district want things done. Our legislative body is established that all of those elected representatives then all cast votes that should generally be in line with what the majority of their constituents say they should vote. So, I don't know where you got your education concerning the operation of our government, but yes, it is a democratic republic. And a democratic republic form of governance is one in which the majority of the designated electors cast votes so that generally it is the majority that rules. You see, that's why Rep. Marjory Greene has such a tough time getting her way. She can't swing a majority to side with her on her issues. So she just becomes a loose cannon bouncing around in the halls of our legislature accomplishing nothing. Just making a lot of noise over issues that she can't drive a majority of people to agree with her. So she's angry and mean and vindictive because she can't get her minority way. You see, generally, in a democratic republic the majority position wins. It's really basic governance 101.

Like the baby that is murdered? The loss of these innocent ones doesn't affect society?
Yes, like the baby that is murdered. I imagine that the loss of these innocent ones does have an effect on society. Not unlike the effect that divorce has on a society. Probably not a whole lot different than the effect that cold blooded murder has on a society. Likely having an effect something like what people stealing from one another has on a society. Yeah, it's a terrible thing, but I've read the book. We're not going to fix it!! Preach the gospel. In season and out of season always be prepared to give an answer for the hope that is in you. Let the world go the way that God has already told you the world is going to go.

YOU live apart from them. That's God's command to you.

God bless,
Ted

No, that's not true either. He never left the Roman Empire. That's like moving from Kentucky to TN.

Of course we don't say 'send us all your illegals'. They aren't illegals in the place where they come from. Man!!!! You got it bad, huh!
Don't be obtuse, they are illegals when they step a toe into this country and don't come by legal means.

But we do have a sign on our front door telling all the nations to send us their poor and their huddled masses. You're free to make of that what you will,
I don't have to, the law makes clear who is legal and who isn't. It's not a matter of your opinion or what you make of it. smh

but to me it pretty much says that anyone can come to America. Yes, I would hope that they obey our civil laws and I think that most of them do.
Well if "them or they" are illegal, then they aren't obeying our laws, now are they?

Yes, I would agree that based on your definition of 'leftism', that's likely true. BTW what is your definition of 'leftism'?
Oh, I know it when I see it, pretty easy to spot.

To all that I remind you that you said majority rules in the gov't. In a constitutional republic, which America is, that is not the case.

So we shouldn't have fought child labor, we shouldn't have fought a way to stop slavery, we shouldn't try to stop children and women being abused. Just let it all go to hell. I think you're sadly mistaken by the term "in the world not of it". That means we don't become like them. That does not mean we sit on our behinds and don't do anything to stop evil when we see it.

Hi @ThereRoseaLamb
No, that's not true either. He never left the Roman Empire. That's like moving from Kentucky to TN.
Sure.
Don't be obtuse, they are illegals when they step a toe into this country and don't come by legal means.
Yes, but no one sent them. And they were not illegal before they did that. Reread your comment, maybe you'll understand.

Right.

God bless you and vote wisely,
Ted

You're talking about people coming across open borders, that makes them illegal. You said you had no problem with open borders, that's why I commented. Open borders affects everyone, it needs to be stopped, should have been stopped 3yrs ago.

In this election, there has never been a clearer choice between good and evil, right and wrong. This election will largely separate wheat and tares. There appears to be a field white unto harvest. Pray ye the Lord of the harvest will send workers. Consider being one yourself.

This post sums up all the threads and posts here on politics. All of them should end with this post. It's perfectly said. It is 110% clear the choice. I pray people will see it as clearly as many of us do.

Diversity of thought

Romans 14:1 Accept the one whose faith is weak, without quarreling over disputable matters.

Christians have all been trained in the articles of the faith, the items that are not disputable. But apart from one God and Father of all, Jesus Christ Lord of all, and the faith that has once for all been delivered to us by the apostles everything else is disputable. Do we vote for Biden or Trump, disputable. Do we build a wall on the border, disputable. Do we join the Paris Accords, disputable. Now what exactly does “disputable” mean? Dispute is to argue about or debate, so disputable means you are able to argue about or debate these. However, the meaning of the Greek here is more along the lines of to “judge his doubtful thoughts” or even “to criticize his scruples”. The Bible is very clear, a “real Christian” believes that Jesus is Lord, however it doesn’t say anything about whether or not a “real Christian” would ban fracking.

2 One person’s faith allows them to eat anything, but another, whose faith is weak, eats only vegetables.

For two thousand years we have looked at this verse as being about whether or not to be a vegetarian. But the first verse is about any disputable matter, and this second verse is simply an illustration of what he is talking about. For example, there are people today who will only listen to CNN and MSNBC and don’t dare to listen to any other sources of information. If you are going to debate a “disputable” topic some people will seek out a multitude of sources. However, you can find people on the internet who will say anything, doesn’t make it true. So there are others who will only accept the “approved” sources like CNN and the NY Times. So there are some who will only “eat” what the powers that be tell them is safe and there are others who will “eat” anything.

3 The one who eats everything must not treat with contempt the one who does not, and the one who does not eat everything must not judge the one who does, for God has accepted them.

This is the issue we have right now, it is splitting the country in half. Some people are “eating everything” and claiming there was election fraud, others who do not “eat” anything that Facebook, Twitter and the powers that be say is not true are judging those who are claiming there was election fraud. Do not treat your brother or sister with contempt simply because they don’t listen to Steve Bannon or Dan Bongino. On the other hand do not judge those who do.

4 Who are you to judge someone else’s servant? To their own master, servants stand or fall. And they will stand, for the Lord is able to make them stand.

This is the key point. When you are making a decision on these issues are you realizing that you are a servant of the Lord and you will be judged for the actions you take. If you vote for Trump then you can be held accountable for the peace treaty he brokered with Israel and the UAE. Likewise if you voted for Biden you are accountable for the decision to pay for abortions worldwide and to make them legal right up until birth. Trump and Biden made it clear where they stood on these issues before you voted.
