So, do we have nothing left on our minds to speak of?
It took me a little while to find this thread again.
Sometimes I don't get the notifications like I'm supposed to, even when I am very active in a thread; I thought maybe that was happening again here.

Oh, no - it is not you - it is definitely the site software that has "lost its mind" - it cannot keep up with everyone's subscriptions and tell people when a new post has been added to one of their subscribed threads.

It seems to "forget" that you are subscribed to [whatever] thread.

It happens all the time...

If anyone is looking for an exciting movie to watch, this one is about God's miracles that occurred in several different wars involving Israel. It 'Against All Odds / In Search of Miracles' on YT. They're all real stories.

sweetie, i am sorry! i was only (poorly) making a joke about the part i ought to have put in bold print, as above. but what a great illustration of the fact my mind IS gone!

thank you, @GaryA for making me aware of my gaffe. i know you didn't do it maliciously, although it certainly was helpful.

gaffe? malicious? What in the world are you talking about???

( I think you lost me somewhere, dear... )

If I have said anything to offend you - then let me apologize to you from the bottom of my heart - you know I have nothing but honest, innocent, wholesome love and affection for you. (as a sister)

I don't see any 'gaffe'; and, I don't understand the 'malicious' part of your statement - could/would you please explain it? PM me if you wish. You have me confused...

Well,
been walking through some tough things this year, but He gives a peace that passes ALL understanding.
And even though the circumstances are tough, He has been using our hard times to be an answer to someone else's prayers.
It's a long, somewhat complicated (and personal) story (stories) , but if it wasn't for some tough circumstances our paths might not ever have crossed. And so I am left in awe and praising the Lord for answering prayers and using our hard circumstances for His good!
So, summer brings along Vacation Bible School (VBS) and the family whose path crossed with ours decided to send their kiddos to VBS when we were talking about our kids going. One of the little ones (7/8/9?) asked Jesus into their heart this week, and you can just see this new glow all around them, and how Jesus is touching and healing their lives (a lot of traumatic backgrounds)

What do you have to be sorry about? Far as I can tell you were speaking your mind, so it must not be that gone.

After reading over this again, I think I now see what you meant. You "threw me" with the word 'maliciously' in your statement - and, I could only think of what is expressed in the first line of my post #96,731.

You are a dear sister on this site and loved by many - and, I think we all would agree that you have a wonderful mind - not to mention - character, disposition, heart, etc.

If anything - let me apologize for misinterpreting your joke - I normally do quite well at properly understanding what folks are saying - perhaps, in this situation, I had my mind "fixed" on the 'notifications' issue that @Godsgirl1983 was talking about.

For what it may be worth - nothing wrong with using bold to indicate what part of a post you are addressing/referencing/etc. - however - there is another method that is "risk-free" - remove all of the quoted post except the part you are addressing/referencing/etc. - and, there is nothing wrong with doing that - just make sure you leave the "header" intact so that folks can follow the link to the actual post.

(you know, i'm never sure if it's rude to snip a post. )

the fault was entirely mine, yet you're so kind to me. thank you! you've nothing to apologize for, but if the delay in my response was concerning, i am sorry!

yes, i realized too late GG's post was mostly about notifications. i've been a bit flustered the last week or so, and i ought not post under those circumstances. my darling husband needed surgery to remove skin cancer, and he's got a 4 inch incision on his right temple. OUCH, poor man. his eye was swollen shut and there's another spot on his forehead to go. i'm what you might call an emotional responder, but i couldn't display it, as i felt it wouldn't be helpful to him, but i just wanted to cry. if you've seen The Princess Bride... MAWWAIGE. :giggle:

not an excuse for my behavior here, just an explanation. thanks again for being a great brother, Gary.

Aww sweetie, sounds like it's been a rough couple of weeks.
You know what, you can come here and cry to us anytime.

Praying for you and hubby.

Au contraire, seeing that there is very compelling evidence of highly cerebral humor.

No, dear - it is not rude to snip a post - if it is done in the right way. Now - it is obviously not right to quote a post and change it up so that it misrepresents what someone said in their post. And, naturally, there is an exception to this - when someone makes a "fixed it for you" (or some similar thing) post for the sake of humor or some-other-reasonable-and-obvious-thing - as long as the link is preserved so that folks have quick-and-direct access to the actual post that was quoted - so that they can go check/see the original post if they wish.

In any case, to quote someone is to "borrow" from what they said (as a reference) to make use in your post to help folks understand better what you are saying in your post. There is nothing wrong with making reference to some specific thing someone said - about which your post relates in some way.

~ It does not necessarily mean you are "talking to them" personally.
~ It does not necessarily mean you are "against" something they said.

These two things people misconstrue often - instead of properly understanding that another member is simply making reference to something they said - and, context should tell the rest of the story.

the fault was entirely mine, yet you're so kind to me. thank you! you've nothing to apologize for, but if the delay in my response was concerning, i am sorry!
Don't be silly - the time folks spend on here is regulated by IRL schedules and events - everyone else must exercise patience until they return to CC and continue whatever forums/threads/topics/discussions they may have been taking a part in.

Do whatever you need to do, dear - and, we will all wait with patience in hopeful anticipation until you return... :)

Good Sunday afternoon, how is everyone?

Kind of wet here (normal really lol) it's 15° so not too bad 🏖️🤣

Almost time to have dinner..... And of course, and a cuppa tea to waah it all down ☕.

Have a blessed day.
