When you have misfortunes after misfortunes, challenges after challenges, setbacks after setbacks, loss after loss over the years; how do you know that it's God (to strengthen your faith? to test if you will deny Him? to prepare you something coming?), the devil (demonic attack, evils spirits, satanic agenda against your life). Remember, all these happen while you are a prayerful person who reads the Bible and fasts. How do you know? Because I think this is an issue which frustrates most of us Christians.

Isaiah 54 gives a then contemporaneous perspective of the future blessing of Zion (*to which Mountain you have come-Heb 12:22)

So, then, you've arrived, in Christ.
And Isaiah 54:15 is now applicable to you.
15If anyone attacks you, it is not from Me;

Challenges are just a fact of life; but if you seem to be experiencing more than your fair share it could just be something as simple as a lack of wisdom. Consider Ecclesiastes 10:10, "Using a dull ax requires great strength, so sharpen the blade. That’s the value of wisdom; it helps you succeed." This is a very simple verse but it has profound meaning.

But wisdom doesn't just fall in your lap: "My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding,
if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God."
Proverbs 2:1-5

You don't know. You only Hope. You also have the example set by Jesus Christ who shared in our suffering in order to give you some sort of comfort that He Himself chose this path of suffering.
You can also pray for a miracle which is not a guarantee that you're going to receive it in your timeline or as you expect it either.
I didn't know if i was going to live when i was stuck in bed without moving for a year, but the example of Jesus going through suffering kept me alive and i also got a miracle.
We all have limited time but it would be nice if we didn't suffer and this is the problem.

But i still don't know why a child has to suffer, because i know why an adult might get suffering and that is to get more growth and appreciation for God.
But i still have no clue why a child needs to suffer though. But again i leave this to Christ who chose this path of suffering in order to connect with us in this most difficult question.

Brother everyone has tribulations. Where there is good there has to be evil.

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

"7But to those of you who will listen, I say: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, 28bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you."

Numbers 12:3 Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth

"4 Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted. "

Zechariah 13:9 And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say, The Lord is my God.

I always watch this testimony when I'm feeling down i hope it gives you some comfort. Woman of Faith, Darlene Deibler Rose testimony part 1 (youtube.com)

What does it really mean to
-Love your enemies
-do good to those who hate me
-bless those who curse me
-pray for those who mistreat me

may you please elaborate for me? also, is it wrong to pray against your enemies with scriptures like Psalm 35(So let sudden ruin come upon them! Let them be caught in the trap they set for me! Let them be destroyed in the pit they dug for me)

Basically, yes. Wisdom won't totally prevent hardships or challenges, but it can help a person deal with them more effectively.

"I thought, 'Wisdom is better than foolishness, just as light is better than darkness. For the wise can see where they are going, but fools walk in the dark.' " Ecclesiastes 2:13-14

That is not the same thing as what Fred is talking about. Everyone does not have that kind of experience, only some. And to say that where there is good there has to be evil is also false.

Most of the time it's just life, living in a fallen dark world. What matters is how we respond.

I agree. I have been facing a similar situation also for quite some time (as have probably a few others). We can only turn to the book of Job for an answer. God allowed Satan to utterly destroy Job, so He does the same with some Christians. But in the end He did restore much more to Job, and we can only hope that He will do the same for all. God is gracious and merciful and does not reward us according to our iniquities. Read Psalm 103.

Yeah, this is what i believe too especially when i think about the suffering in children. But at the same time i know that miracles that have happened to others, are sufficient for me to lift me up spiritually and keep me grounded on my own two feet.
But sometimes people want personal miracles and it's very understandable.
Personally i wasn't expecting a miracle for myself but when i got it, i cried.

Because the miracle of a child who was buried under earthquake rubble in Turkey who stayed without water or food for 3-4 days is enough for me. She said that a Man in a Horse fed me and gave me water.
Or when i see large scale miracles like the Fatima miracle.
So when i see all these miracles in History ( i have even opened a topic about them) i know that God is in control despite seeing children suffering.
I know that He is in control !
So that keeps me grounded.

Hi.. God based on what I know and read He does not cause suffering of any king. Satan is the one that comes to kill steal and destroy. He Satan is the one out there like a roaring lion seeking whom he can kill. Now in my life so many times just because I am reading, praying you name it I can still be out of His will. Fast note its easy to get back on it just ask Him to put you back on the path. God will never go against what we personally believe. No matter what I say or any one else read Luke 11 13. God said that.. the rest is up to you. He has been warning us for so many years to "not forget His promises". Read Isa 41 10. So we read it and do what? Remind Him of what He said? hoping He will maybe do that? Did you know no matter what Israel does God will keep every promise He made them.

So we that are now by what Christ did are grafted in and as Isaac was we are the children of promise. See its not what I say or any one else. Those promises are yours. See when things like you said happen in my life its not God that did it. I find what He said in His word and I stand on that.. I will not be moved. No matter what I see or hear or feel.. I stand on what He said. Its faith and most do not work, exercise their faith. Muscles.. we always have to exercise to stay in shape. We have all been given the measure of faith. That solider that just told Christ to speak the word. Christ didn't have to come to his house. That solider knew if Yeshua/Jesus said it .. it will be done. There was no question no debate it would be done. Authority that solider knew Christ had authority.

See you we need to know not wonder but know God is always for us He is never against us. He never condemns us He never is mad at us. He will turn every bad thing going on in our life for His glory. Every one that came to Christ He set free, healed you name it. He has not changed. Whats the problem? Doubt.. walking, living in this 50+ years just in the lord yet He told me again a few months ago "don't entertain doubt". See doubt always stops God. If we doubt were like ships being tossed back and forth let not that man think he will get anything from God. Ooh but He did say.. if we know He hears us then we know we have the petitions we asked for. Gods will is His word.

How is it in heaven where God is? Yeah His will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We need to know who we belong to. Its ALL Him never ever us. We take no glory nor ( I won't) the simple thanks..its all His. Sadness comes I speak His word. In the mist of sadness I stand on the joy of the lord is my strength. I am strong in the lord in the power of His might. I like how the Amp says it " In conclusion, be strong in the Lord [draw your strength from Him and be empowered through your union with Him] and in the power of His [boundless] might."

When I am unsure.. I make sure I have repented, forgiven so that I know there is nothing between me and Him. So many times the people of God wait until (God for bid) something bad happens to then try to have faith. Oh But there are times I do not understand where He moves on those that struggle so much and have little faith. All I am saying is anything bad going on is not from Him. Know not wonder know He is for you loves you happy with you. Yeah what is so hard still is not walking by listening to how I feel and what I see going on around me. You have been given by GOD the right to use that name above every name YESHUA/JESUS CHRIST. You have all power all authority over the enemy.. not over man. Resist the devil he has to flee.

Know your not alone.. life hits every one of us. So many don't use the power/authority rights they have based on just what is written. Its why I said twice so far.. don't take my word for it.. don't believe me. I hear listen to what others say but.. in the end.. I stand not on what some other believer said but what my Father said in His to me. Read Isa 41 10... yeah not my chance that verse is the 1st to come to mind. Read Psa 91. Know He is for you.. never against you. Know He is not like man.. He never gives up on you ever. Cares about every thing going on in your life. Peter and John said when the man was healed and the people were looking at them as if they had some kind of power. "why look at us as if we did this by our own power. That ..get this.. that name.. faith in that name healed this man.

Speak that name.. you can never say it enough. KNOW not wonder no guess.. know He hears you. Yes.. its all going to change .. get so much better. Not a guess

Fred, If you are a born-again Christian. You will meet people that just don't like you.

What it really means to be a Christian is to live by example of these teachings. If you have someone that abused you to be kind and forgive no matter what you have suffered. To be meek even when you're cursed at every day. To Pray for them to get better and to be saved and to think of what they have suffered and is suffering instead of your own. A Christian will have happiness even in the worst situation and that happiness will shine in the darkness of those lost in sin. "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit "

9Do not avenge yourselves, beloved, but leave room for God’s wrath. For it is written: “Vengeance is Mine; I will repay, says the Lord.”

I don't know what you've suffered and your experiences are likely different than mine but I know it's made me more patient and a better person than I was years ago.

I think you are incorrect on both. I believe the majority will suffer some tribulations in their life. Though not as bad as the saints who have to wrestle with the devil himself. Christ Jesus says"If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me" "Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

What do these parables mean then?

what does these parables mean then? "40 Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left. 41 Two women will be grinding with a hand mill; one will be taken and the other left."

"35For I have come to turn ‘a man against his father, a daughter against her mother, a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law. 36 A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household."

The Apostle Paul in Ephesians 6:10-20 makes it very clear that the evil forces will be attacking believers in their warfare against God, who uses the armor to repel the devil's attacks. I get tired of his attacks too, but I revel in God's victorious rescues as well.

As long as you are at the center of God's will and involved in a Bible preaching and teaching church with regular attendance in worship and also involved in a church's small group, Satan can't win those battles. God will.

I think this is a good question. I dont know that there is an easy answer. I can only share with you my personal perspective, but I think this is why God gives each of us His Spirit to guide us through various trials in a way that helps us grow in our own unique ways.

However, I would say that the fundamental answer, in my mind, is that no matter what happens we understand that God is good and he loves us. Even if we are being disciplined or corrected by God in some way, it is because He loves us and wants what is good for us (cf. Heb 12). And if it is an attack of the enemy, God can use this for our good as well.

James tells that we should rejoice when we face trials of many kinds and we can be sure that God is not tempting us or putting evil upon us.

Job reminds me that no matter how hard times get, and though I might not understand exactly what is happening or why, I need to trust that God is good and I can trust Him. We may never know why something terrible happened in this life, but we can know that God is not the author of evil. He knows what it is like to be tempted, to suffer and to be treated unjustly. He is with you in whatever trial you are going through. Sometimes horrific things happen because of evil people around us, because of our own sinful actions or just because we live in a broken and sinful world. And unlike Job’s friends, we need to be cautious about trying to speak for God in these difficult situations. I think the only thing we can do is cry out to God in our times of need and when we see others suffering, to go and weep with them.

I wish I had a better answer, but I think that is why God calls us to be people of faith. He doesnt always give us answers to our situations, but he does call us to trust Him because He is good.

“Did you know no matter what Israel does God will keep every promise He made them.”

this is what he said in his covenant he made with them if you are willing to read it yourself like you would any information

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

If ye walk in my statutes, and keep my commandments, and do them; then I will give you rain in due season, and the land shall yield her increase, and the trees of the field shall yield their fruit. And I will give peace in the land, and ye shall lie down, and none shall make you afraid: and I will rid evil beasts out of the land, neither shall the sword go through your land. For I will have respect unto you, and make you fruitful, and multiply you, and establish my covenant with you. And I will set my tabernacle among you: and my soul shall not abhor you. And I will walk among you, and will be your God, and ye shall be my people. I am the LORD your God, which brought you forth out of the land of Egypt, that ye should not be their bondmen; and I have broken the bands of your yoke, and made you go upright.

But if ye will not hearken unto me, and will not do all these commandments; and if ye shall despise my statutes, or if your soul abhor my judgments, so that ye will not do all my commandments, but that ye break my covenant: I also will do this unto you; I will even appoint over you terror, consumption, and the burning ague, that shall consume the eyes, and cause sorrow of heart: and ye shall sow your seed in vain, for your enemies shall eat it.

And I will bring a sword upon you, that shall avenge the quarrel of my covenant: and when ye are gathered together within your cities, I will send the pestilence among you; and ye shall be delivered into the hand of the enemy.

And I will set my face against you, and ye shall be slain before your enemies: they that hate you shall reign over you; and ye shall flee when none pursueth you. And I will destroy your high places, and cut down your images, and cast your carcases upon the carcases of your idols, and my soul shall abhor you.

And I will make your cities waste, and bring your sanctuaries unto desolation, and I will not smell the savour of your sweet odours.

And I will bring the land into desolation: and your enemies which dwell therein shall be astonished at it. And I will scatter you among the heathen, and will draw out a sword after you: and your land shall be desolate, and your cities waste.”

‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭26:3-4, 6, 9, 11-17, 30-33‬ ‭

“And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth: and all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God. The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways. And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them: and thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all his commandments and his statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee: The LORD shall send upon thee cursing, vexation, and rebuke, in all that thou settest thine hand unto for to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the wickedness of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken me. The LORD shall make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until he have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest to possess it. And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron. The LORD shall cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies: thou shalt go out one way against them, and flee seven ways before them: and shalt be removed into all the kingdoms of the earth. And thy carcase shall be meat unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and no man shall fray them away. and thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not prosper in thy ways: and thou shalt be only oppressed and spoiled evermore, and no man shall save thee.

The LORD shall bring thee, and thy king which thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation which neither thou nor thy fathers have known; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone. And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all nations whither the LORD shall lead thee.

Moreover all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou hearkenedst not unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which he commanded thee: and they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever. If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and fearful name, THE Lord THY GOD;

And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to destroy you, and to bring you to nought; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest to possess it.”
