You can lose your salvation for sure. Just read the Hebrew letter and the warnings contained therein to the recently converted Hebrews. It also says that it is impossible to renew such a backsliding person to repentance again.

Hebrews 6:4-6

4For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, 5And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, 6If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.
You have to me misinterpreted scripture. It is saying Son will not ever do what is done all over again it is done at that cross once for us all to believe it or not. Son took away all the nasty nines and dirty dozen first as to reconcile us all first, as if we never had ever sinned, even though all know we have.
Col 1:21-23 yet read Chapter one and 2 please
It is time to be thankful to God Father and Son for this gift given to be new in love and mercy as is given to us first. thanks
Under Law the flesh and blood first born curse gets revealed to turn over to god and be new in the Law of Liberty, Hebrews 7:11-12 under new Law, the Law of Love to all. wow

Salvation is not a prize we must compete for!
Jesus secured our salvation on the Cross.

The following passage is what that prize is about!

And, at the end of that passage?
It tells us that those who fail to gain the prize?
.... Are yet saved!!!

Read it!

For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ.
If anyone builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw,
their work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be
revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each person’s work.
If what has been built survives, the builder will receive a reward. (prize!)
If it is burned up, the builder will suffer loss (no prize!) but yet will be saved
—even though only as one escaping through the flames.
1 Corinthians 3:11-15

grace and peace ............
1st Corinthians 9:24 has nothing to do with works. It is about the "prize" of salvation. You will either gain it or not, hence the use of "only one". There is no middle ground. It is not a "reward" for good works. It is the hoped for outcome of our faithful obedience to Jesus Christ.

Paul does not use the verbiage "prize" in this passage. I checked 63 versions and could not find one version that uses "reward" in place of "prize" in 1st Cor. 9:24. In other words, you are forcing this connection. Simply a red herring.

Salvation is a prize not a reward. A prize laid out not for the meritorious but the faithful.

A prize is a reward for having met certain conditions. It's not grace. It's based upon performance. Salvation is neither a prize or reward. It is a gift.

So are you saying before the cross he was not, in his being, God?
He was God. But, was not allowing Himself to function in the power of God.
He was to only function in the power of being a man. A sinless spiritual man.

Let me show you something that must have been edited out of the Bible?
This is what you are not seeing... Philippians 2:6-8.

Who, being in very nature God,
did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage;
rather, he made himself nothing
by taking the very nature of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
by becoming obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
You should get a new Bible.

Hello Pilgrimshope.

When you say that Gentiles are not under the the old covenant. Obviously, your referring
to the Mosaic Covenant since Gentiles cannot be physically circumcised. In addition, you must
also include the Abrahamic Covenant for the same reason. Because Abraham was commanded
to be circumcised.

This then generates some difficult questions.

Was John the Baptist speaking only to the Hebrews or was John speaking to the Gentiles
also?
“When you say that Gentiles are not under the the old covenant. Obviously, your referring to the Mosaic Covenant since Gentiles cannot be physically circumcised.”

well first what prevents a gentile from being circumcised ? The Old Testament allowed for gentiles to convert and be circumcised I don’t think you understand what I’m saying I hadn’t even mentioned circumcision bekng any reason for anything .

youll find what I’m talking about in Galatians three Paul explains it well

the gospel is Abraham’s covenant pertaining to all nations it was first announced to him in genesis chapter 12. Before the law was given to israel through Moses as thier specific covenant

what im saying is a covenant is whatever the word of the covenant says and it’s made with the people it is made with. So this covenant wasn’t made with gentiles but with Israelites is my point but specifically with the chrildren of isreal ( , jacob)

These are the words of the covenant, which the LORD commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab, beside the covenant which he made with them in Horeb.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭29:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“And the LORD said unto Moses, Write thou these words: for after the tenor of these words I have made a covenant with thee and with Israel.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭34:27‬ ‭

So my point is the old covenant made through Moses with israel of found here in Moses words in thier covenant law

“And he took the book of the covenant, and read in the audience of the people:

and they said, All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. ( those distinct fleshly people have now entered a covenant” an agreement “based on what the book of Moses law says to them then the lifeblood of animals that purchased that covenant according to those words is shed )

And Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, Behold the blood of the covenant, which the LORD hath made with you concerning all these words.”
‭‭Exodus‬ ‭24:7-8‬ ‭KJV‬‬

My point isn’t about circumcision the New Testament has its own true circumcision based on Jesus death and resurrection. It’s about the covenants themselves and the audiences for both you see how the old was spoken specifically to them ? The gospel is sent to all and is Gods covenant with mankind just as the old was his covenant with Israel which they broke

“And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭16:15-16‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m saying if god gave a covenant to israel its based on what it sa and is for who he made it with

and im saying God made a new covenant with israel and he then included gentiles in the audience that the covenant is made for and with . Whereas thenold requires one to convert to Judaism through circumcision and adherence to Moses law

“and I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.”
‭‭Genesis‬ ‭12:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Galatians three paul explains all of this well it’s worth a good read and even a bit of a study of you believe Paul’s explainations I mean How the gospel came before the law then the law was given and it was broken and then after the law the gospel was fulfilled and that covenant came forth which is the true covenant and not this one which was added after because they sinned worshipping the calf

“Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The law was only a bridge to the gospel dealing with man’s sin in between like a rough draft

“But before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up unto the faith which should afterwards be revealed. Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.”
‭‭Galatians‬ ‭3:23-24‬ ‭KJV‬‬

I’m not sure it creates the difficult questions rether than answering them Galatians theee I mean which is what I’m talking about .

as to John the Baptist he is the fulfillment of the ot prophecies of the last prophet of Israel before the messiah would arrive for instance

Behold, I will send my messenger, and he shall prepare the way before me: and the Lord, whom ye seek, shall suddenly come to his temple, even the messenger of the covenant, whom ye delight in: behold, he shall come, saith the LORD of hosts.”
‭‭Malachi‬ ‭3:1‬ ‭KJV‬‬

The beginning of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the Son of God; As it is written in the prophets, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, Which shall prepare thy way before thee. John did baptize in the wilderness, and preach the baptism of repentance for the remission of sins.”
‭‭Mark‬ ‭1:1-2, 4‬ ‭KJV‬‬

John was soecifically preaching to Israel as was Jesus first.

It’s after they reject him that the same gospel is sent to everyone else

“And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen.”
‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28:18-20‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Who John was preaching to doesn’t matter nor does circumcision to what I’m saying there are two covenants each is made with a specific people one with Israel’s children and descendants and the other with all creation all mankind of all nations beginning at Jerusalem and spreading to everyone else through the great commission to preach the gospel of the kingdom to all people and invite thoer belief in him

Sure. You appeared to be saying that the reason God was bringing judgment upon the Jewish nation was because of unbelief. So I asked why is this the cause of the judgment and not the failure of the Jews to keep the terms of the covenant that would shortly end.
brother think of it they failed to believe the word that was given to them

The blessing and the curse based on thier obedience and disobedience they didn’t believe this the truth of what was said in thier covenant word

“Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse;

a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day:

and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known.”
‭‭Deuteronomy‬ ‭11:26-28‬ ‭KJV‬‬

they wouldn’t believe what God really said instead lol they did what Christian’s do they began saying “ God is good he will never bring the curses to pass like he warned us he would “

It’s what God actually says to us that we have to believe . Had they believed the word in the law they wouldn’t have continued on worshipping false gods they wouldn’t believe him like Adam Adam didn’t believe the fruit was deadly it’s the belief of what God said to us saves us

like this many refuse to believe this even though Jesus the lord and truth said it

“I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭13:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

“I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
‭‭Luke‬ ‭5:32‬ ‭KJV‬‬

awe instead just say “. Believe I’m already saved I don’t need to repent “ but really we are openly rejecting Gods gods word making him out to be a liar when he says unless you repent you also will perish “ it even becomes hard to hear as tbe apostles repeat the principle

“The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”
‭‭2 Peter‬ ‭3:9‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Even when we’re told that acknowledging the truth brings repentance

“in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.”
‭‭2 Timothy‬ ‭2:25-26‬ ‭KJV‬

belief needs to be in the lord this includes his word he’s always soooen to man socne we were created and it’s always the truth that will keep us safe if we will hear and believe him

they were destroyed because of unbelief of what he continually wanted then about they rejected it and claimed to be believers in God and his chosen

Gods most important principle is that when he speaks it’s going to be just like he said man hasn’t learned to believe him we seem to just say I believe and then hewr his word and swear it’s not true we have to hear and believe his word or we’re going to perish

They certainly failed at times to believe, but the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD wasn't in response to unbelief. The old covenant came to an end and God was executing the sanctions that failure to live up to terms of the covenant demanded.

Again, this is about 1st Cor. 9:24 not your red herring "reward" in 1st Cor. 3:15.

This is about staying faithful to the end not the works of man in 1st Cor. 3:15.

You are only convincing those who want to be convinced.

Grace has conditions. It is woven into the very fabric of the Bible.

A prize is a reward for having met certain conditions. It's not grace. It's based upon performance. Salvation is neither a prize or reward. It is a gift.
Amen! In 1 Corinthians 9:27, Paul is talking about being disqualified for the prize (NIV) and not disqualified for the gift of eternal life. In context, Paul has been discussing preaching the gospel. In verse 18 he says, "What is my reward, then?" In verses 24-27 he illustrates this thought of his reward by the picture of a race run for the prize. Salvation is a gift that we receive by grace through faith, (Ephesians 2:8,9) and not a prize that we race for, win and earn.

Prize (brabeion) - the prize awarded to a victor, the reward (recognition) that follows triumph. That does not sound like a free gift to me. (Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8) 1 Corinthians 3:14-15 mentions - If the work that anyone has built on the foundation survives, he will receive a reward. If anyone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss, (of reward) though he himself will be saved.

1 Corinthians 9:24 - "Do you not know that those who run in a race ALL run, but ONLY ONE receives the prize? Run in such a way that you may obtain it." In an Olympic race, all runners run but only one receives the gold medal. So, what happens to the runners that receive the silver medal or bronze medal or finish the race with no medal? Are they disqualified from the Olympics or for the prize? Everyone who falls short of winning a gold medal is not disqualified from the Olympics.

Either one believes God and is set free in not quitting or quits, amazing what under Law does to the people, I know and remember what it did to me , to be under it and not see its purpose Galatians 3:19-26
And not that I am perfect ever, God is and I am in Thanksgiving and praise over it

We have different definitions of grace.
Okay, so what conditions does your "definition" encompass?

1 Timothy 2:4 New King James Version
who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

If the above is true, what conditions for God's grace are not being met?

In an Olympic game its the gold medal.
???

We are talking about what the Bible meant for "only one receives". 1st Cor. 9:24

P.S. The ancient Olympics did not give medals to the winner but an olive wreath.

And only the winner, there was no second place prize.

They certainly failed at times to believe, but the destruction of Jerusalem and the temple in 70AD wasn't in response to unbelief. The old covenant came to an end and God was executing the sanctions that failure to live up to terms of the covenant demanded.
Do you see any lesson here ?

“For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence stedfast unto the end;

while it is said, To day if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses. But with whom was he grieved forty years? was it not with them that had sinned, whose carcases fell in the wilderness? And to whom sware he that they should not enter into his rest, but to them that believed not? So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:14-19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

sin is because of unbelief of what he said israel provoked his anger because they rejected what he said in the covenant and changed and altered his covenant making it something it wasn’t

Like Christian’s have also done look at how the word needs to be Gods words and when we don’t do that and start altering his doctrines what happens this is how belief works brother you have to hear what God says or you could never believe what he said if we believe things he didn’t say it works against us like Israel’s folly

“Concerning the prophets: My heart is broken within me; all my bones tremble. I am like a drunken man, like a strong man overcome by wine, because of the Lord and his holy words. “Both prophet and priest are godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness,” declares the Lord. “Among the prophets of Samaria I saw this repulsive thing: They prophesied by Baal and led my people Israel astray. And among the prophets of Jerusalem I have seen something horrible: They commit adultery and live a lie. They strengthen the hands of evildoers, so that not one of them turns from their wickedness. They are all like Sodom to me; the people of Jerusalem are like Gomorrah.” Therefore this is what the Lord Almighty says concerning the prophets: “I will make them eat bitter food and drink poisoned water, because from the prophets of Jerusalem ungodliness has spread throughout the land.” This is what the Lord Almighty says: “Do not listen to what the prophets are prophesying to you; they fill you with false hopes. They speak visions from their own minds, not from the mouth of the Lord. They keep saying to those who despise me, ‘The Lord says: You will have peace.’ And to all who follow the stubbornness of their hearts they say, ‘No harm will come to you.’ But which of them has stood in the council of the Lord to see or to hear his word? Who has listened and heard his word? The anger of the Lord will not turn back until he fully accomplishes the purposes of his heart. In days to come you will understand it clearly. I did not send these prophets, yet they have run with their message; I did not speak to them, yet they have prophesied. But if they had stood in my council, they would have proclaimed my words to my people and would have turned them from their evil ways and from their evil deeds.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23:9, 11, 13-18, 20-22‬ ‭NIV‬‬

notice that it’s the same thing that happened to Adam and Eve god spoke to them then someone else came telling them it’s not true and corrrect like false prophets do the word you accept and believe becomes your faith can be built on truth or lies

“I have heard what the prophets said, that prophesy lies in my name, saying, I have dreamed, I have dreamed. How long shall this be in the heart of the prophets that prophesy lies? yea, they are prophets of the deceit of their own heart;”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭23:25-26‬ ‭

This false doctrine is what led to thoer disobedience and destruction belief is what we end up acting upon

“Then the LORD said unto me, The prophets prophesy lies in my name: I sent them not, neither have I commanded them, neither spake unto them: they prophesy unto you a false vision and divination, and a thing of nought, and the deceit of their heart.

Therefore thus saith the LORD concerning the prophets that prophesy in my name, and I sent them not, yet they say, Sword and famine shall not be in this land; By sword and famine shall those prophets be consumed.

And the people to whom they prophesy shall be cast out in the streets of Jerusalem because of the famine and the sword; and they shall have none to bury them, them, their wives, nor their sons, nor their daughters: for I will pour their wickedness upon them.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭14:14-16‬ ‭

Yes brother of course it’s because they didn’t obey the law ….they didn’t believe the word in the law was why they didn’t obey it they didn’t believe God would curse them like he swore he would if they didn’t stop sinning they wouldn’t acknolwedge the truth that he spoke to them so

To believe right leads to acting right they didn’t believe is why they were destroyed in the desert and never entered the promised land

“So we see that they could not enter in because of unbelief.”
‭‭Hebrews‬ ‭3:19‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Belief is the root of our actions they refused to believe Moses and the prophets and then refused to believe Jesus thier lord .
