Just surfing the 'net and found this. I am a retired teacher of the Deaf. I taught some college sign language. In my last year of teaching, I taught with the aid of an interpreter. That sure was a fun and enlightening experience. I'm new so bear with me and any mistakes I make in learning to navigate the site.
I am deaf. My deaf Christian friends live in other states so it's kind of hard to share things about God. Church is difficult as I really need interpreting services and most churches don't provide them. I am hoping to make friends

Well,
Maybe you can help us...or at least me.
I am in the process of learning to write. Which centers on the methods and procedures we use for understanding scriptures. How to find resource materials that are trustworthy and what to avoid as there is literally an avalanche of books out there all claiming to have the sole voice of truth.

So where I can explain theologies...I try not to and just stick to scriptures and how I arrived at the explanations I arrived at. All of this in excruciating detail (to me at least, who used to fly through and get it without trying hard) I'm scared I'm going to skip steps and not say something vital but I think is obvious and "of course".

And without the years of sermons between your ears....it will be like a fresh look.

So if you have issues with a section of scripture that doesn't make sense or seems too flat. Just ask and let me see what I can do. I'm sure you can read....lol...that's not the skill in question. It's all that "other stuff" in scriptures that gets confusing.

I wasn't questioning or thinking you had a problem with salvation.

That's not me.

It's any of another million+ questions that arise from some of the Difficult Hebrew or Greek expressions that people trip over that I was thinking about.

Like why John 1:12 is written in past tense or some other type questions.
