God is light, in him is not darkness at all. And yet, you are claiming when he made the heaven and the earth, God
made it in darkness. Darkness is associated with sin and the power of Satan. The fall of Lucifer caused the darkness.
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void;
and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God
said, Let there be light: and there was light. 4 And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light
from the darkness. 5 And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the
morning were the first day. <= Nothing there about Satan/Lucifer falling and/or being the cause of darkness.

Nope, I know for the Bible is not a book about satan, but about man and his relationship with God. We get pieces of the mystery throughout scripture. Satan is the ruler of the darkness of this world. God placed the division between light and darkness, good and evil, in verse 4. The division stands throughout scripture.

There is zero reason to read Satan into the creation text as you have.

If you only understood what you are saying... SMH

So - you think Lucifer had power over God - such that, whatever well-lit creation God had made was immediately forced into darkness the moment Lucifer fell???

The problem with the gap theory is that it is 100% imagination and speculation and 0% biblical truth.

Exactly, darkness can be the absence of light, the true light is still being revealed. Hence darkness

Sooo, darkness is no reason to read Satan, the ruler of darkness, into the text?

Did the creation as we know it fall into darkness? Is this world dark? Is Satan the ruler of the darkness? Is Satan the god of this world?

At creation he wasn't the ruler of the earth. That didn't occur until after Adam sinned.

It is describing the physical nature of the physical earth when it was created.

I was taught that this may mean God is black.

What color is God's skin?
What color is God's skin?
It's black, brown yellow,
It's red, it is white.
Every man's the same
In the good Lord's sight.

Have you not read that there was just darkness? And God was there.

Give it up John. All those questions can be answered without resorting to Gap Theory nonsense. You won't quit in spite of all the biblical evidence. Which means you love lies more than truth.

In the song of Solomon it says I am black but comely. To me this part of the Bible is so plain to understand that a small child could understand. That in the beginning God was there by himself for eons and God was in complete blackness. I think there is a difference between blackness and darkness.

A little while ago I looked at the night sky I thought of how they say that in space there is a lot of darkness between stars and planets. And if God had not placed the Earth where he had. The third planet from the sun. Anywhere else the earth would most likely be in darkness. When I look at the night sky I don't see anything evil about it. I just see stars and Andromeda galaxy and the moon and planets and Satellite's.
