And, sometimes it can be used as an open door to present knowledge that some here need.

I redeemed the joke in a desire to redeem the time.
Perhaps you should just loosen your tie, change out of your pajamas, and come up out of the basement, and go outside and get some fresh air. And leave the horn you've been tooting.

Not until God tells me to do so....

In the mean while I would love to be able to break out my drum set and practice like I used to be able to....

If all gifts disappeared? Not good!
No one could be posting anything here!

Which ones were to cease?
The ones likened to:
A spiritual baby bottle, diapers.
And, rattles and toys needed to keep them entertaining themselves while not knowing how to live.

The gifts that ceased were only the ones required for the pioneering days of the church.
They were provided by God to compensate and offer stability for what had not yet been made known to the Church.

The temporary gifts ceased after apostles and prophets like Paul and others, supplied in writing what was needed to
explain to those ignorant of what seemed like the spiritually exotic way.
The way that would release some from living under the law.
Supplying things that held up those who could not yet understand what was going on.

Supplied with what God would later require of the Church to learn, and make a part of their very own lives.

To certain belligerent Jews who opposed the Church (like Paul had), God displayed in power to the unbelieving Jews
the counter of tongues speaking in foreign languages. Languages they understood as a second language, to stun and baffle them.

Brothers, do not be children in your thinking.
Be infants in evil, but in your thinking be mature.
In the Law it is written,
“By people of strange tongues and by the lips of foreigners will I speak
to this people (the Jews), and even then they will not listen to me, says
the Lord.” Thus tongues are a sign not for believers but for unbelievers.
1 Corinthians 14:20-22a

Tongues was a sign to unbelievers, like the plagues of Egypt were a sign to Pharaoh,
whom God knew would not believe.

For those hold the banner high for tongues, the stimulation that alleged tongues provides
for them emotionally highly addictive.
These people are ruled by their emotions.....

Sorry to say.
That is my report to home base.

THE SAD THING IS you did not provide one verse from the Word of God to support your claim. Pride and man's ability come to the forefront when one profanes any gift of the Holy Spirit.
To call what is listed as a Gift's of the Holy Spirit "of A spiritual baby bottle, diapers. And, rattles and toys."

Yet not one verse to say they have STOPPED OR NOT FOR TODAY. That is an ERROR.

1cor 14:20-22 in context doesn't say they have ceased or not for today.

You guys will stop arguing about all that when they're chopping our heads off and we can't buy food. There won't be any Baptists, Pentecostals, Methodists, etc., in those days - only followers of our Lord Jesus Christ. One of the few things we have to look forward too.
that is true but one will not be able to stand for Christ without the Power of the Holy Spirit to be a witness as Jesus said in Acts 1:8

In telling us what God has, or even has not, told you... isn't that... what prophets ... actually do?
On that basis we would all be prophets. You don't have to be a prophet for God to speak to you. Everything we need to know till the end of the age is already written in the word.

The only sad thing I see here is not me....
NOTHING will get you to repent.

Now ...keep in mind.
I did not write the following words.

Proverbs 12:1

Whoever loves discipline loves knowledge,
but whoever hates correction is stupid.

No one is going to have an excuse. The Lord Lord will show all of us that He provided the needed warnings if we end up claiming ignorance as our shield and defense for failing to do the will of His Father.

Matthew 7:21-23

“Not everyone who says to me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter into the kingdom of heaven—
only the one who does the will of my Father in heaven. On that day, many will say
to me, ‘Lord, Lord, didn’t we prophesy in your name, and cast out demons in your
name, and do many powerful deeds in your name?’

Then I will tell them to their faces, ‘I never knew you!
Get away from me, you workers of lawlessness!’

You have been warned! I did my job.
Excuses and denials will only come from you.
So? what should I do?

Titus 3:10-11

Warn a divisive person once, and then warn them a second time.
After that, have nothing to do with them. You may be sure that
such people are warped and sinful; they are self-condemned.

Ignore is what is in order......
I did what I was supposed to.

Got to keep in shape... Walls of Jericho still exist today.

Luke 6:26

Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you,
for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets.

Some here would have me to believe I am a true prophet based upon that verse alone!

Everything we need to know till the end of the age is already written in the word.
The above is a statement from ignorance. The Bible didn't tell me that my student was autistic, my basement was clear of bed bugs, or that my friends were going to be at the store on a day that I was feeling down, yet that is just a tiny sampling of the types of things God shares through prophecy all the time. Plus some prophecy isn't knowing something but proclaiming something, whether it's judgment, blessing, or God's lament for the current conditions of our world and what it is going to face.

LOL, it is sad and funny that you think disagreeing with you means one needs to repent or kiss your ring. You are not one of the authority here to correct anyone. What you can and should do is provide the text supporting your position on the Gifts of the Holy Spirit not being for today or no longer valid. You have not done so. You now result in Foolishness and try to bring condemnation on those who disagree with you, just like a troll.

In addition, those verses you provided in context are not saying Cast out the devil or Speaking in tongues is not for today.

What Matthew 7:21-23 in context, which you failed to provide because you use the word of God to attack those who disagree with you, is, first Jesus is saying :

  1. Do not Judge 7:1 speaking to Hypocrites; if you don't judge yourself first, you will be judged.
  2. Keep asking, seeking, and knocking: the lesson of Importunity is to those who are believers
  3. Narrow is the way: and Jesus is that way.
  4. You will know them by their fruits: Discernment of false teachers and Propflase prophets.
  5. I never knew you: is in context to False Prophets and those who practice lawlessness, as Jesus said
  6. Build on the Rock “Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock:
If you read what Jesus is saying, nothing here suggests or says Don't Speak in Tongues, or these who do are not of God, no.

Jesus says, "Everything you do, Build on Jesus, who is the way." Don't allow Pride, lawlessness, lack of faith, or failure to self-examine to take you from the way, which is Jesus.

That's are not looking for God..

For what you are looking for, you need a fortune teller.

You are correct. Everything we need is in the word of God. Yet Jesus provided Gifts to the Body of Christ to perfect and equip the saints. Are you saying the gifts to the church pastors and teachers are not needed? Jesus, who provided these gifts, did not mean for them to be used down through the age of the Church.

That is true. But only if we abide in growing in grace and truth, we will discover what God has given us the tools and all needed thinking to deal with everything that will come our way.....

What is written in the word is all that would be needed for the believer.
The problem is finding pastor-teachers who are capable of extracting and presenting what would be powerful and helpful.
That is the problem we face today.

Too many are demanding that we keep the teachings as simple as they wish to remain being.
No growth that way. No transformation possible.

It's from the transformation of going beyond what we used to be naturally, that makes us able to overcome.
Certain believers get angry when presented what makes them think beyond what they feel comfortable with.
It threatens them.... For, they really do not want the pressures that come when we begin becoming a threat
to the invisible and visible enemies of God.

No apologies....

Grace and peace.

The Bible didn't tell people those things of life in in the time it was written, you even admit to that within your own post. (what I put in bold)

You need more than the word of God? "It is written" was good enough for Jesus and He told the rest of us the same.

Luke 16:31
“He said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead.’”

I was talking about prophecy. How about staying on topic. :)
