It turns out that Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses have completely distorted the image of Jesus. The first one believe that he is the son of God but they insist on saying that Mother God exists and that the tree are a happy family on heaven, making short the story, they believe that God and Jesus are not the same and the others (JW) say something quite similar. So evidently the Jesus they believe in is the same thing as believing that Allah is God. And on the other hand, in the Catholic Church it is possible to find people who do not believe in saints or pray to them and also people who do not believe in Catholic rituals or at least, not like the indoctrinated sheep, people whose prayers are more than a simple Our Father or a Hail Mary.
They are only Catholic by custom or inheritance. So yes, I believe it is possible to find saved people in Catholicism. Happen that that pope want to be friendly to all religion just to no offend nobody. He always has been a clown, since the first day.
If they don't belive those things, why are they still there?
How can true saints go to a house of demons & find peace there? Their 'priests' follow the teachings of the Pope, & teach them to their members.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be deceived: “Bad company corrupts good morals.”

I don't hear any of the members saying they can go to the Mormon church & be a christian. Neither the Jehovah's witnesses.
Yet I hear that people can go to the RCC & be saved. If you get saved while in the RCC, it can possibly happen.
the RCC affirms the deity of Christ, that He was born of a virgin, having taken humanity on Himself, that He died as a propitation for our sin, that He rose, that He ascended, that He will return again, that He purchased for us salvation by grace through faith with His blood.

the mormons and the watchtower society deny these things.

so.

how closely do you examine your own congregation, brother?

we all argue with each other on this website day and night, yet we keep coming back.

i can't speak for every catholic, but i think some of them do what they do so as not to offend - we are free, through Christ. Paul went to synagogues even though he knew the teachers there were antichrist, denying Jesus is Messiah. do you think he spent the time there cursing them? or trying to reach them? did he worship while he was there? or did he spit on the dais?

but fundamentally there is quite a difference between the beliefs of a catholic or an orthodox, and a member of an hundred year old american cult.

As I told you, many due to tradition or custom. They do not feel the need to change religion because they are accustomed to Catholic creeds. Furthermore, perhaps many have not been preached to and have been made to realize that Catholic doctrines are not entirely correct, so they feel comfortable or satisfied with continuing to attend the Catholic Church.

It's still no excuse to associate with a religion that teaches damnable heresies on a daily basis.
Paul taught about the sin of association when he scolded the Corinthians for fellowshipping with a man in their church who was committing sin with his step mother.

@posthuman has a good approach, which if i were to translate it into a lovely American idiom would be "Don't throw the baby out with the bathwater". :D
I love this idiom. It's so absurd and cruel.

The Gospel offends everyone who chooses to keep living in sin.
As far as my church, I may find a dozen sins if I search, but how does that compare to THOUSANDS of sins the RCC has & does keep committing???
HOW can a true believer continue to sympathize with the false doctrines of every priest, cardinal, & pope that's ever lived?
A christian who constantly surrounds themselves with the enemy on purpose cannot win.

I'm sorry but the RCC has distorted the image of Christ, produced a works salvation, & the Pope can make up new commands at his lesiure that equals the commands of God. And I'm just warming up.
It's apparent to me you don't know the whole history/facts of the RCC.

Honestly, I don't think it's a topic worth continuing to discuss. The history of the Catholic Church and all its atrocities is well known to everyone. They have distorted the mechanism for salvation, saying that works are necessary. They have not distorted the image of Jesus as such.
I already told you the reasons why I believe you can find saved people even in Catholicism and I also gave you certain reasons why many of them do not change their religion.
Protestantism is not perfect either, no religion is, and just as you can find good Christians and bad or false Christians in Protestantism, I also believe you can find good Christians in Catholicism.
In the end, God is the one who searches hearts and He Himself says that He will have mercy on whomever He wants to have mercy on.

Would YOU leave your church if you caught them teaching such things? Could you live with yourself if you didn't?
I have left some I went to for a lot less.
Pastor worship and a "look at what we're doing" attitude was in the last one about a year ago.

Of course, yes, if someone preaches to me and opens my eyes and makes me realize that the religion in which I take communion has a lot of bad doctrines, but as I told you in a previous comment, many of them are not aware of it. Nobody has preached to them and they have not made them see that their religion has all those false doctrines that God does not like at all. Now, if one were to preach to them and they insisted on continuing to take communion in Catholicism, that is another thing for which they would have to answer before God.

It's not easy to let go of traditions. I try to let go of traditions that go back millennia but those traditions are also the very things that define me.
I remember an American in this forum who permanently left USA and went to some Asian country, can't remember where.
He was very changed and almost a new man, but he still couldn't let go of his support for guns and the second amendment despite not being in USA.

It's not easy to let go of traditions from the culture where you were raised.

Could you survive if you were surrounded by demons every time you went to church?
I couldn't. How can you expect baby christians who supposedly don't know any better to do it?

Precisely for that reason, because they are innocent and spiritually immature and do not perceive the bad feelings that must be there. They are also accustomed to that and they don't see it as something completely bad because they grew up going to those churches since they were children.

Oh, so you don't support Trump then, because a thousand sins are worse than a an hundred? Lol

But the scripture says one sin makes you just as guilty of breaking the entire law as a thousand.

we have to show mercy - there's no way around mercy. it's required, because no one is without sin and error.
we should not be selective about mercy, showing favoritism, but give it to all.

A christian who constantly surrounds themselves with the enemy on purpose cannot win.

ah that part. "on purpose"
that's questionable when we talk about whether all RCC attendees are fully aware of the nefarious history and the details of dogmatic error in that church. do they all fully know all these things? heck at least half of protestant churches don't know ver basic things about the scripture.
so how much is really on purpose?

but i should remind you of Lot, who Peter says is righteous, and who stayed in Sodom on purpose, and even hesitated when angels commanded him to leave.
righteous Lot had a reason - the decision to leave wasn't easy, even when he knew it was about to be destroyed.

...It's not easy to let go of traditions...
But not for pope Francis. He is not afraid to say this: Every religion is a way to arrive at God’. ...Notwithstanding any comments to the contrary, the Catholic Church has consistently and clearly taught that it is the only true Church, the Body of Christ..."

But... NO born again christian can continue to worship in a cult after Christ has gloriously saved them.
Those who say they can are in error & need to repent of their sin.
So many have forgotten the history of the RCC & forgot that NO POPE ever repented for all the dead saints they killed, NEITHER have they repented for all the Jesuits they still send out into the world today to steer Protestant religions back to the RCC.
NEITHER did they repent for all the Knights Templars they sent out to bring the damage they did, & still do.

If you DON'T think the RCC is evil, watch this.

Universalism is the Doctrine of demons that's being pushed hard by the RCC today.
At best, the pope is a heretical false teacher, at worst he could be the forerunner or the false prophet himself.
So how it can be that someone who claimed he has the baptism with the Holy Spirit for empowerment and is speaking in toungues in the same time defends and teaches the practices of the RCC?
How can truth and lie work together?
Many believers from the evangelical background run after Him. Johannes Hartl is his name. An RCC bishop calls him the bridgehead in the evangelical movement.

Why, brother? I’d rather read and study the Bible alone rather than attending a RCC.
