Rules for thee but not for me.
See, this right here is an example of the show.
The left presents this as another 'fact' that Trump is breaking laws and is unfit for office.
Assuming that even some expensive lawyers can't defend this as "intent" and assuming that Trump is 100% in the wrong, then it simply doesn't matter.
Because it's seen as an act of hypocrisy by the left who has been trying hard to de-throw Trump since his first term.
Their optics are actually pretty bad right now because they make him even more popular with everything he triggers them with.

Where does the reporter state this makes Trump unfit for office because he signed the flag?

(g) The flag should never have placed upon it, nor on any part of it, nor attached to it any mark, insignia, letter, word, figure, design, picture, or drawing of any nature.

Well Trump gives them plenty to go on about, so there is that.
Maybe he likes the bad press and seeks it out so he can go on about how he is the victim and garner attention.
Maybe that is part of the show too?

Suffice it to say Eli, this is not a good time in American politics.

The one good strong point that Trump stated during the debate is "this is a country in decline."
He needs to make it less about him and more about policy, but I doubt he can do that, the adulation is at fever pitch, he thrives on that as do most narcissists.

This is a distraction from the Trump assassination attempt that just occurred.
Putin is talking about retaliation against NATO Nations. NATO and the pentagram is sending satellite directed, made in the USA missiles to Ukraine according to publicly admitted sources. Of course writing on a flag or letting it touch the ground takes priority over WW3. 🫡 🇺🇲

It really isn't.
As i said, we are waaaay past decorum.
Have you seen some of the old debates in youtube of politicians in the 60s?
Wow, it's like a different planet.
Both sides are respectful, well measured and both seem that they want what's best for the country.
The audience is more intelligent too and they are there for the details and facts, not a popularity show.
Back then, people were held accountable by their words and actions. Now, it's a badge of honor on how many times you screw up and you get promoted.

There have been times in the history of America where political rhetoric has been worse. At the founding, people would take out ads in papers against candidates, ranting and railing against them. Even George Washington was not immune to such tactics.
At other times there have been duels and fisticuffs. Around the time the Civil, one representative beat another unconscious.

The point is that we will get through this as well. It's always darkest before the dawn.

I posted this before news of the attempt broke. It wasn't approved until after the attempt.

Being told to "go jump in the lake" seems pretty personal.

Trump is like a child that is often caught stealing candy. His supporters get upset when you point that out, because they want Trump to be able to steal all the candy he wants and tell everyone at the same time, that he obtained the candy in the most fair way possible. Infact no one else has worked hard for candy the way Trump has. Trump is the only one who put in the time, attention and care to obtaining the candy so fairly and so wonderfully.
