I’ve always been a sucker for board games like Catan, but when it comes to video games, I’m hooked on anything that challenges my brain. Lately, I’ve been spending way too much time on math playground, haha. They’ve got some cool logic games that keep me entertained when I need a break from the usual stuff. Yeah, the kids at w*rk were talking about Warzone 2100 and I thought they were talking about something that involves planning. I was quickly disillusioned.
I'm more campaign than PvP though. The online Warzone 2100 players have become so meta that newbies don't have a chance. With the tricks they use, even the game devs would be wasted before they knew what happened.

I'd play card and board games if I had people to play with. Haven't played them in years, so can't really say any are a favorite.
I play some PC games, but I'm not a "gamer". I'm not the most talented player.
Story heavy games can bore me. I'm there to kill things. Serious Sam was my kind of game 😂
I don't like online games anymore. I played WoW for 15 years and got really tired of the people. Since I'm not a great player most people would be frustrated with me or just leave me behind. And too much can't be done solo.
I enjoyed Skyrim a lot, as many have. Mostly prefer to play as some kind of caster. Sometimes as a sneaky type.
Mostly played casters in WoW too.
I prefer shooting games to have more futuristic or something not common. Fallout 4 was fun, for example.
Also don't much enjoy straight shooting games usually. I like extra powers or other things as well. Mass Effect Andromeda, for example. Though, yes, the story heaviness of it got old fast.
Only game I'm currently playing is Minecraft. I like the building/creative aspect to it, even though I'm not very good at it.

Yeah. There were all kinds of ways to get around limitations on that game. Like the helmet and stone boosts (blanking on what they're called at the moment) with rezzing. Kill stuff, rez it, kill something else, take the helmet off and put it back on, rez the old and new stuff. Wait 24 hours to use the stones affect again. Bypass all rez limitations. Could get an army of just about everything, plus whatever you could summon. Was crazy.
I LOVE family/friends' games!

My siblings and I played a game I thought we invented... we called it The Dictionary Game. I much later saw that it's the same as a game called Balderdash.
We just use a giant dictionary/encyclopedia, notebook/scrap paper, pencils. When it's your turn you (book holder) pick a word nobody would know (ask if anyone knows it) and spell it out. Then on a small piece of paper you write the correct definition in your own words (so it doesn't sound too official), fold it up.
Then everyone else in the group writes one or more of their own definitions, fold it and give to the Book Holder who then numbers and reads all the definitions. Anyone gets a point if someone picks your definition. There's usually a lot of funny ones... so we laugh our heads off.

That actually sounds like a super fun game, but I would be such a party pooper at a game like that. I know way too many words. Sure there are some words I don't know, and I'm not going to go looking for them just to complete the set, but the game would become interminable as the book holder kept throwing out words and I kept shooting them down because I already knew them.

??? oh, sorry, misuse of word. brute as in power, not as in violence. dont get all ***OHH!!! DEMONS!!! AHHH!!! RUNN!!!*** on me, but it is very slightly similar to dnd. its story involves a lot of pain, mental, the ground is littered with corpses, there are about.... 8 people alive in the world. and several die. every monster is reanimated corpses. you can get up and fully customize your char. choosing between hacking with a dagger, shooting with a sling, and blasting enemies with magic at distance. no gore, just pre-generated corpses. implied gore. you may like it. or maybe not. it is a pint and click style movement game. (at least, I couldn't get arrow keys to work.)
