Why does God have to repeat Himself for one to obey as if God in the OT is a different God in the New Testament When He says I do not change.

The Sabbath commandment didn’t end in the NC, still a commandment for God’s faithful

Luke 23:56 Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment.

God only gave a number and a name to one day-and claimed it as His.

Exo 20:10 but the seventh day is the Sabbath of the Lord your God.

Which is why Heb 4: 9 There remains, then, a Sabbath-rest for the people of God;

Which literally translates into the keeping of the Sabbath.

sabbatismos: a sabbath rest
Original Word: σαββατισμός, οῦ, ὁ
Part of Speech: Noun, Masculine
Transliteration: sabbatismos
Phonetic Spelling: (sab-bat-is-mos')
Definition: a sabbath rest
Usage: a keeping of the Sabbath, a Sabbath rest.

The fact we see the Sabbath mentioned over 60 times in the NT shows it never ended. God kept, Jesus kept, the apostles kept, His faithful followers kept, and we should too.

While you might be looking for a commandment to obey God, God‘s people obey Him through faith and love. We have to have room for faith and to live by every Word that proceeds out of the mouth of God. No where does scripture say God abrogated His Sabbath commandment. I would be more concerned where that Text is,, especially if its the one commandments Gid said to Remember and is holy and blessed by God. The only commandment that points to the God of creation Exo 20:11 there by design.

Guess we will find out soon enough if forgetting something God asked us to Remember, will be okay with God. After all a day is just a day, just like a tree was just a tree in the garden.

1. "Why does God have to repeat Himself for one to obey as if God in the OT is a different God in the New Testament When He says I do not change." God does not change, but He says that His first covenant was fulfilled and superseded by the Gospel of Christ.

2. "The fact we see the Sabbath mentioned over 60 times in the NT shows it never ended." It took awhile for the new covenant parameters to sink in, and some folks still don't quite get it.

3. "No where does scripture say God abrogated His Sabbath commandment." And no where does God say a lot of things that would clarify many issues, such as "Abortion should be punished by stoning", or "The pacifists are correct, so all soldiers should resign."

And this raises a random question, what does the absence of clear and concise pronouncements by Scripture on such matters indicate?

We actually don't need clues, He tells us plainly.
If it's so plain, how does Jesus not know His own sheep? Was He mistaken? Did He know them?
The individuals in the passage may have made a big deal of their allegiance to Him with their mouths, but not with their lives. Otherwise, their profession would have matched their actions. They did not. The worked wickedness. No different from many throughout history who draw nigh to God with their lips while their hearts are far from Him.

You might want to read Mat 15. Thats also about not keeping God's commandments.

Exactly, so why argue against them.
Well before the new testament, those ten commandments there wasn't any second chances. Even breaking the Sabbath would lead to death, it's clearly written in scripture the punishment for breaking the Sabbath could end ones life. It's a heavy burden. 3,000 years ago people wouldn't think twice about killing someone for breaking commandments because God instructed them too. Adultery was stoned to death and alot of other killing of people for breaking commandments.

To end the madness, Jesus took all of it upon Himself. Now it's His commandments, yes the Ten are included on the heart. There is no killing people for breaking commandments, can't just split it and say well honor the Sabbath but just don't kill anybody over it. The new law supercedes the old law in everyway.

So now we can commit adultery? God punished people under the theocracy. That ended.

Now Judgment is the last day. Judgement doesn't change- the wages of sin is death in the NT, but we can choose another option through Christ and obey Him with His power by our love, faith and our cooperation with Him.

Because the 10 commandments you are obsessed with are not the commandments referred to in 1 John 5:3.

For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his [Christ's] commandments are not a burden. 1 John 5:3

Peter called the 10 commandments and all the law of Moses an unbearable yoke.

Now therefore why tempt ye God, to put a yoke [the law of Moses] upon the neck of the disciples, which neither our fathers nor we were able to bear? But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ we shall be saved, even as they. Acts 15:10-11

Jesus said his yoke, ie commandments, is not unbearable

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30

According to Scripture, the answer is yes. You really ought to know this!

Matthew 15:8: "These people honor me with their lips, but their heart is far from me".
Here's more context Jesus was condemning those who keep their own rules over obeying the commandments of God quoting directly from the Ten Commandments

Mat 15: 3 He answered and said to them, “Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition? 4 For God commanded, saying, ‘Honor your father and your mother’; and, ‘He who curses father or mother, let him be put to death.’ 5 But you say, ‘Whoever says to his father or mother, “Whatever profit you might have received from me is a gift to God”— 6 then he need not honor his father [a]or mother.’ Thus you have made the [b]commandment of God of no effect by your tradition. 7 Hypocrites! Well did Isaiah prophesy about you, saying:

8 ‘These people [c]draw near to Me with their mouth,
And honor Me with their lips,
But their heart is far from Me.
9 And in vain they worship Me,
Teaching as doctrines the commandments of men.’ ”

Which goes with

And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’

1 John 2:3 Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 4 He who says, “I know Him,” and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

If they are one of His, they will change and not be adulterous.
How many times do people have until it's to late, once, twice or three times you are out?

Does Jesus count say one time and that's it, I never knew you.

Galatians 5:14, Ecclesiastes 12:13, Romans 13:10b The entire law is fulfilled in a single decree: “Love your neighbor as yourself.” When all has been heard, the conclusion of the matter is this: Fear God and keep His commandments, because this is the whole duty of man. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.

Galatians 5:4 and 6b ~ You who are trying to be justified by the law have been severed from Christ; you have fallen away from grace. All that matters is faith, expressed through love.

Mark 3:28-29 / Matthew 12:31-32 / Luke 12:10 Truly I tell you, the sons of men will be forgiven all sins and blasphemies, as many as they utter. But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of eternal sin.

you cannot go to heaven by only obeying the Ten Commandments because what would Jesus have died for then? But celebrating the sabbath is good, and also keeping the Ten Commandments is also good.

Imo, find all in the heart "faith", the man who is working 7 days a week. His heart might be burden, he would love to spend time with his family resting on a Sabbath. Yet if he doesn't work 7 days a week, the world is banging on the door for rent.

God surely wouldn't say well better find a new Job that pays more, so you can obey My commandment. I don't believe God is making sure everybody has the best Job to take care of their family. Though certainly He does, who and why is a mystery.

You said those who don't keep Christ's commandments aren't saved, and no one is saved keeping Moses' commandments . So Christ's commandments can't be Moses' commandments because keeping Christ's commandments saves, but keeping Moses' commandments doesn't.
