Is not Christ our example?
Should we not follow that example?
Christ was unconcerned with the political system He lived under.
He had bigger fish to multiply.
Shouldn't we?

While I understand your point, He was concerned deeply and we should be as well.
He wept over Jerusalem.

It's not a stretch to conclude that voting is one way of providing for one's family. Government is of the people, so if you default on that responsibility you are leaving your family to the mercy of ravenous wolves

But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel. 1 Timothy 5:8

If Christ voted, He would do a write-in and vote for Himself. ;)

(Somehow, I just cannot see Him voting for anyone else.)

Zero. But seeing as you are here as well, maybe that's not the best way to make your point, which was what again?
Whether best or not - it was a good way to make his point:

"If Christ would not spend any time on CC - and, you want to follow the example of Christ - why are you even here?"

Also - it is an "unfair question" because of who He is.

So Gary, do you not also desire to be like Christ? And yet here you are as well. You spend an awful lot of time arguing with people about the flat earth. I'm not debating whether that's a good thing or not, because I have no idea what you do with the rest of your time. You might leave here and spend the next four hours in fasting or prayer.

I'm here for fellowship. And sometimes I actually find some.
Christ did not require fellowship.

How much time do you think Christ would sit on CC? Wouldn't he have bigger fish to multiply?
CC is not unlike sitting in the synagogue teaching and hearing the he teaching of others.

so in that light i would say He would spend no small amount of time.

but if you really think this is all worthless, what are you doing here, and what is actually worthwhile?

He appeared at just the right time. today is not that time.

"render to Caeser what is Caesers"
and "for they sit in the sea of Moses"
is extraordinary.

He did not speak against the ruler at all, nor offer any comment on who should be ruler, nor speak al anything that could have been understood as against a ruler the people did not like, even a corrupt one. if anything He taught not to resist an unpopular and corrupt government.

instead He taught of much greater things than worldly politics, and said don't concentrate on things of the world, but on things of the next.

Oh....
Jesus definitely would not vote.
Jesus simply takes what Is His and is unconcerned with what others think about it.

God is good and God is Sovereign and God is omnipotent and God is omniscient.

Why the avoidance and redirection? In the context of the discussion so far, I suggest that the fact that you are here completely invalidates any questions you might ask others about being here. Otherwise, you are to be seen as a hypocrite - or, someone who is trying to put himself above others. (I am not suggesting either - just pointing out the obvious.)

Also - it is an "unfair question" because of who He is.

Exactly! But, we do! Just think about that for a little while...

Is not Christ our example?
Yes. However, that does not mean we can "mimic" Him perfectly in every detail - He is God and we are not.

Should we not follow that example?
Yes. However, following His example does not mean "perfect copy" - it means doing in our life context (that which we can) after the pattern which He showed us. We are to "be like Him" - we cannot "be Him" - there is a difference.

Christ was unconcerned with the political system He lived under.
There are many reasons why this is an invalid comparison to make - the least of which is - He knew He would only be here for a short period of time - "to do His Father's business" - which is totally different than what He tells us to do in our life context.

He had bigger fish to multiply.
Exactly. However, while we also have big fish to tend to (spread the gospel, etc.) - in our life context - we have to tend to some smaller fish also (the things we have to do to live in this world).

We should do what He has told us to do - not try to "mimic" Him perfectly in every detail as though we were also God in the flesh.

I only asked if Christ would vote.
I'm not the one who made this discussion about spending time in a chat room.

I was asked directly how much time Christ would spend on CC.
My response was Zero.
And for this I'm a hypocrite?
Was my answer incorrect?
The very question implies that any time spent here could be better spent elsewhere.
Which would make anyone asking that question a hypocrite as well.
Seeing as we are ALL here.
No one ever asked me why I come here.
Or why I think that Christ would not.
The guy who spends 80% of his time in this forum arguing with people about whether the earth is flat or not probably shouldn't be accusing others of hypocrisy or wasting Gods time.

I expected better from you.

Jesus and Paul sought to convert "voters" to supporting God's values.

and had zero comment on who should be chosen to sit in the sannhedrin, but criticized them all.
That really wasn't my point now was it.

I believe we should vote or be involved in some way to bring about change.

There would not be wolves in the hen house if people (including Christians) did what they are supposed to be doing over the past 100 hundreds years rather be duped my the "end times" fiasco.
