Hey Sean,
Did you watch the movie?
I don't watch a lot of films so I didn't even know about this one. Dietrich Bonhoeffer wrote a book called The Cost of Discipleship,
I highly recommend it for young men like yourself.
I didn’t watch the movie, nor did I know what movie it was about. Looks like world war 2. I’ll look up the book though. Sometimes it is hard for me to read books other than the Bible, I’m not sure why that is, maybe my thought disorder. I use to read so many self help books growing up but once I started reading the Bible, everything else was discarded, as i felt like everything else was pointless. -Sean

Boenhoffer and his brother in law hatched a plot to assassinate Hitler.
The plot was foiled and DB went to prison. I presume that's a big part of the movie.

I felt the same way when I met Christ. He opened up His word to me and totally blew my mind, couldn't put it down.
Carry on, you'll get no more unsolicited recommendations from me... after this one. Ha ha. Get yourself a Treasury of Scripture Knowledge and a good Strongs Concordance if you don't already have one.

I have seen a lot of apps have Strongs Concordance. Must be worth looking at if it is literally on almost every Bible app. is Treasury of Scripture Knowledge a book? Or do you mean memorize it? Cause I’m not sure if I have the ability to memorize scripture.

The Treasury of Scripture Knowledge is a book of cross references, and that's basically it. There are over 100 cross references for Gen 1:1 alone. And so it goes. Since the best commentary on scripture will always be scripture, this is a treasure indeed. There is a newer updated version which I prefer. Its called the New Treasury, go figure.

I wonder if I’ll be able to even absorb the material and put it to use. it sure is worth a shot. There are tons of books I’ve read over the years and a lot of the material goes right in and comes right out. Even with courses I’ve taken in college, like Java programming. I got the best grade in the class but if you wanted me to create a program or even a single line of code, I couldn’t tell you.

There is just air up there!

i think what I lack in book knowledge, I like to think I dominate in the creative world. Worked on hundreds if not thousands of creative projects since I was born.

ill have to get a physical copy of both of those books though and have them next to my bible for reference. The new treasury sounds really interesting!

I could imagine those really expanding my thought life or making me utterly miserable because I would know too much. I’m not sure!
Focus your attentions on Christ and His indwelling Spirit. Focus your studies on Christ as well. This will keep you out of the weeds mentally
and spiritually. Grow in your knowledge of Christ, make this your goal. Be obedient to what you learn, and you will grow and heal. Guaranteed.

Thanks man, I truly hope so. Ive doing Christian activities almost nonstop, every day for the past year, besides the music ive been composing on the side. I truly hope something comes of it. Most of the time I just feel like I lost my mind and now Christ is in full operation.

I spent my first year in Christ in a bubble, that's what it felt like. Christ and me alone in a big plastic bubble. I was out there working and doing my thing, but totally caught up in the Spirit. I'm working my way back to that place right now. Its pretty cool.

My first year, it was while I was serving tables. A guy that worked with me named Sammy just seemed like Gods hand was on him, just the most peace filled guy I think I ever met, besides my pastor, who was also his pastor at the time before he moved away. He invited me to his church. I didn’t have a vehicle at the time, so an older couple picked me up from where I was living and brought me to Zion Christian Center which is now called Bridge Community Church in Orange, CA. If I could imagine a perfect church, that would be it. I may be super biased though cause I talk to the pastor weekly.

i haven’t gone there all year and I’ve only gone there maybe a total of 30 times since 2014 but every time I was there, up until recently, it was always a great church. I didn’t really develop any friendships while I was there, even though I talked to many great people. Just seemed like I was surrounded by angels to be honest. Then, maybe two years ago, I saw them as Pharisees. Not sure if that led me here but probably.
