What verse do you base your statement that the Antichrist "will be anointed king of Israel" on?
The kings and priests in the old testament were anointed by oil poured on their head.

Saul and David were anointed by the prophet Samuel
Solomon was anointed by the prophet Nathan

The Jews (Judaism) thus believe that the messiah will be anointed the king of Israel by a known prophet.

The Jews also believe that Elijah will come to be a part of preparing for the messianic age. As a custom, Jewish families set a plate for Elijah at their passover family meals.

The false prophet in Revelation 13, does a miracle of calling fire down from heaven, something Elijah did in his battle with the prophets of Baal.

So, it is likely that the Jews will at first mistake the false prophet of Revelation as being Elijah come a second time around. Elijah actually anointed a king and a prophet in 1Kings 19:16.

The false prophet of Revelation 13, thus, at the beginning of the 7 years will anoint the Antichrist person with oil as part of the cerimony of making him the king of Israel. Later, about 3 years into the 7 years, both will show themselves to be a false prophet and a false messiah.

The first has universal application to everyone. Anyone receiving praise from other men in order to make a name for themselves is walking in the spirit of ungodliness.
I think you disrupted the flow of the debate.

These passages are talking about Israel and the AC. Whom they will receive.

Israel in their blindness rejected their King aka "The Truth", and will receive the AC aka "the lie".

The point of my comment was that that verse is not a specific prediction of the AC. It's a spiritual principle that will eventually culminate in the AC. For that matter, the other 2 verses don't specifically apply either

That the person has to be a Jew is that as the Antichrist, he will be anointed the King of Israel, thought to be messiah by the Jews. "Anti" the prefix meaning against and instead of - Christ, Jesus the rightful King of Israel.
The word "anti" is a prefix derived from Greek, meaning "against" or "opposite to." It is commonly used in English to convey opposition, resistance, or an opposing force to something. Here are a few examples of its usage:
  1. Opposition to something:
    • Antibiotic (against life, specifically bacteria)
    • Antiwar (against war)
  2. Counteracting or preventing:
    • Antidote (a remedy to counteract a poison)
    • Antifreeze (a substance preventing freezing)
  3. Opposite in nature or effect:
    • Anticlimax (opposite of climax)
    • Antimatter (matter composed of antiparticles)

"Anti" is also used in contexts such as political, cultural, or ideological stances (e.g., anti-authoritarian or anti-globalization).
The prefix is versatile and often appears in combinations that highlight resistance, prevention, or contrasting qualities. In other words, the meaning of the word “anti” can simply mean to be against and not just the polar opposite of something. Besides, the polar opposite of a Jew is a Gentile, and not a Jew.

The apostle John says there are many antichrists (1 John 2:18). I doubt all people who are antichrists are Jewish.
Plus, in history, we see three men who are types of the Antichrist.

Antiochus Epiphanes serves as a significant type of the Antichrist. The first type of Antichrist appears in Genesis with Nimrod; the second is Antiochus Epiphanes in the book of Daniel; and the third is Titus, the Roman prince who destroyed Jerusalem in A.D. 70. To gain a complete understanding of the Antichrist, it is essential to study not only the book of Revelation but also these three key figures. Nimrod, Antiochus Epiphanes, and Titus together form a composite picture of the Antichrist, while Revelation provides the detailed definition. When we combine this picture with the definition, we arrive at a comprehensive view of the Antichrist.

You said:
Also, in Daniel 11:36-37, after he has entered his beast-king stage, claiming to be God, it says he has no regard for "the God of his fathers", a term for the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
I will admit, this is a considerable point here. I reread this passage and do see that as a strong possibility. But it is also equally possible that “fathers” here could be in reference to key early church fathers or Christians. According to Scripture, it states:

“And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.” (Galatians 3:29).

So if a person is an heir of the promise of Abraham because they are of Christ, then the phrase “Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, “ (Daniel 11:37).

There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus.” (Galatians 3:28).

It is also possible that this Gentile AC merely has Jewish lineage that is not known to the public. The person I speak of as being a potential possibility for the antichrist has sought to change the laws

Daniel 7:25 (KJV)
"And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time."

As for a clue to the possible AC I speak of:

“Through one leader’s governing will, the state’s future is written."

Another clue of this potential AC figure is his misuse of New Testament Scripture to justify the slaughter of the innocent.
Additionally, this individual has suggested an anti-free speech stance on a specific topic, as well.

The apostle John says there are many antichrists (1 John 2:18). I doubt all people who are antichrists are Jewish.
John was comparing persons who were leaving Christianity, as like the coming Antichrist, in the sense that they were denying that Jesus is the son of God.

Yes, I agree that the many antichrists that John was referring to were likey not Jewish, but Gentiles, who departed Christianity. A modern day example of someone that is antichrist, in the manner John described, is Yusuf Estes, once a Christian pastor who left Christianity to become a Muslim, denying what Christianity says about Jesus. He has several You Tube videos.

You said the person as potentially being the Antichrist in your view met with the Pope. Is the person a Californian politician ?

That would suggest that much of The Bible was not divinely inspired by God through His prophets and Apostles.

Some Church denominations still hold to the old Protestant Reformation doctrine of a Catholic pope as the Antichrist. They try to claim Apostle Paul's "temple of God" in 2 Thessalonians 2 means Christ's Church when Paul was actually pointing to a Jewish stone temple built in Jerusalem for the end when that "man of sin" shows up to sit in it and play God. Paul was simple repeating Christ's warning about a coming pseudo-Christ (false Messiah) during the "great tribulation" that will work great signs and wonders that would deceive even Christ's very elect (Matthew 24:15-26).

Since its first publication the Bible has never had the words, "God's Word" appear on its cover. Not through the work of the publisher.

Think about this.

If God wrote a book what man would touch it and alter any part?

The Bible is errant. God is not. The Bible was altered through time for political purposes.

I think that is why Jesus observed what he did about searching the scriptures to find him.

John 5.

That's why we must test the spirits. Even the 40+ authors of his word.

God is not found in structures crafted by man.

"The just shall live by his faith” (Habakkuk 2:4).

How many believe in the Bible?

I believe the Antichrist is the little horn in Daniel

Prophecy is repeated. Dan 2, 7, 8,
Revelation gives more info for the end times but does repeat things in the past.

Study, study...

There have been so many interpretations of prophecy and many have already been shown to be wrong. Today there is only one that is right. Which means 1000s must be wrong.

Pride was the devils biggest downfall and people will not admit they are wrong because of pride

We will soon see how things happen.

Mat 24:24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

Our only safety is the sure word of God.

The devil can appear as Christ. How do we know? If it controdicts the bible it is not truth

The antichrist sets themself up as Christ and therefore against Christ.

The antichrist while pretending to be for Christ will lead people away from Christ.

Let's see how it happens.

One of the b4st things said in the thread.

anti in the Greek means either to oppose, or to impersonate. The antichrist does both by pretending to be Jesus which actually is also an opposition to the real Jesus.

Spot on!
