How often is the true Passover on a friday?

Passover can fall on a Friday relatively infrequently, as the Jewish calendar is lunar-based and doesn't always align with the Gregorian calendar, but it can happen occasionally, sometimes even aligning with Good Friday, depending on the year; the likelihood of it occurring on a Friday is not predictable and can vary significantly between decades.

What the church does is celebrate Easter on the first Sunday following the spring equinox and Good Friday the previous Friday. So, the timing of events are by man's quest, not by scripture, that the church celebrates! It is a reenactment to be able to get people to attend.

Your thoughts??

Days of the week are irrelevant. Passover foreshadowed the death of the lamb of god, whereas Easter commemorates his resurrection. One points to our justification, the other points to everlasting life in Christ. Both glorify God

Resurrection Sunday is the first Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox.

I do not believe Jesus was crucified on a Friday....

I know many do not but I myself have no doubt. Adam was made on the sixth day which was the original Passover. On this same day he ate of the fruit. In shame they covered themselves with fig leaves but this wasn't good enough according to the Lord's plan. What did the Lord do but sacrifice animals for covering of sin ( clothes ). This was the beginning of a blood sacrifice and fulfilled during feast days till the Lord was crucified 4000 years later.

Personally, I believe that the time to celebrate should be Thursday evening. That's when the New Covenant was introduced - if indeed Jesus was crucified on Friday. It is almost certain that Lord Jesus was crucified earlier in the week. Lord Jesus said He would be in the grave 3 days and 3 nights, the sign of Jonah. Friday to Sunday morning does not fit.

My understanding is that Easter was invented as a sop to non Christians who celebrated a pagan festival. Even the word "Easter" is taken from the word used for a pagan spring festival. I don't believe it matters when exactly. It should be taken much more seriously than Christmas. Don't expect the world to do that.

Jesus rose on the third day and not after the third day. So Jesus could not have been in the
grave for three days and three nights. Your probably referring to Matthew 12:40 for that timing.
Would be better to go for 'raised on the third day'.


1 Corinthians 15:4
And that He was buried, and that He was raised on the third day according to the Scriptures,

Matthew 16:21
From that time Jesus began to point out to His disciples that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem and to suffer many things from the elders, chief priests, and scribes, and to be killed, and to be raised up on the third day.

Friday to Sunday will fit if Jesus was raised on the third day.

Some churches I have attended do not celebrate either Easter or Christmas.

There is no law regarding these two events in the scripture.

Though Acts 20:7 and 1 Corinthians 16:2, would be evidence for a Sunday gathering.

You can break the bread and celebrate the risen Lord on every single day of the week.

Only true if you lock in Matthew 12:40 and ignore the abundance of verses that say otherwise.

We know He rose on the first day and that was the day after the Sabbath.

Mark 16:9
Now after He had risen early on the first day of the week, He first appeared to Mary Magdalene.

Jesus did not rise on the Sabbath.

Keep in mind the evening of Thursday was when begins the next day begins---First it was evening and
why the jews celebrate the Passover seder in the evening.

Simply put, Friday begins at sundown on Thursday.

however when, matters not to me, yet I see what you say there and tend to agree.
What matters to me is:"He, the Christ is risen" where new life for us is given to us by God Father of risen Son where the freedom to do right and eschew evil is real, thanks
