When I was gifted an iPad, the pencil wasn't functioning but that was okay with me since I didn't really have any percieved need for it. However, it was always there in its place for me to notice. Well, I finally looked into getting a replacement and it arrived recently and, to test it out, I used it on a FreeForm app that came stocked on my iPad.

I also noticed that the app offers a grid format that I used to default to utilizing if I want to achieve a more precise rendition of such as portrait work. The ambition to do portrait work on it will develop with more experience in learning the workings of the app but I was satisfied with my initial doodle and wanted to share it, possibly displaying it as my avatar. But I can't figure out how to save it to an image file. If there anyone here familiar enough with it to advise, I would greatly appreciate the help in advancing this venture with this new to me medium.

You need to save it in a format which can be posted here, which is either jpg, png, or gif. Gif is for animations, though.

There may be a number of options similar to jpg, like jpeg or jpeg2000. Stick with jpg if you can if you go that route. I save to png most of the time. A jpg file will degrade over time as it is opened and closed and being saved over and over again, as what happens when changes are made when you continue working with the file. That is due to compression, which does save space on your hard drive, but overall, and for the most part, a jpg file is not a good option for multiple resaves. You could save it as a tiff also if that is an option, in order to keep working with and making changes to, and then save as a jpg to upload to an image host or post directly from your device if on a thread and the file is not too big. In photoshop I work in layers as a document and then save as a flattened png which I also make other edits to for sharpening and sizing, mostly. My recommended image host is postimages.org and they allow you to resize on upload also.

The easiest way to get a picture from the FreeForm app is to take a screenshot of your drawing which will then save it under Photos, which you can later crop.
To get the screenshot press the Home Button or the Power Button and Volume Up on your iPad depending on the version and model of your iPad.

Now that you mention it, I don't think it coincidental that, each time I've had a dream with a strange doo-doo occurring in it, it turned out prophetic of eventful movements. ;)

At the materialization of one such example, of which my friend, Kimmie, was there to witness, after I told her of the dream that had immediately preceding such the event, she wistfully sighed, "I want to have s****y dreams..."
