The current age of marriage consent is 18. This proposal if passed through their parliament would drop that age to 9!

That's child rape. It is also the age of one of Muhammad's wife whom he took into his custody when she was 6. He allegedly waited until she was 9 to marry and then gave sexual relations wi

I agree and it's sick, but perhaps the West would do well to sort out its own pedophilia problem so that it may see clearly to remove the pedophilia plank from the eyes of other nations such as Iraq? I'm talking the Jeffrey Epstein client list, the P Diddler client list, and undoubtedly a heap of other lists out there including the bulk of Western politicians, government bureaucrats and Hollywood "stars" who have all thus far gone unpunished. Not to mention the droves of sodomites and sexual deviants dressed as the other gender (or not) legally pushing genital mutilation and similar on children.

And a slightly different but related issue, the whole abortion saga - a little hard for a nation that legalises the murder of children in the womb to lecture others about the evils of pedophilia.

I think too often we are desensitized to the horrors committed and pushed by our own governments at home, so that the horrors pushed by foreign governments are a means by which we can try to make ourselves feel morally superior - when we're not.

If there are problems down here, they are never from His end, He gave US "dominion" in chapter one, meaning He obligated Himself to limit Himself to what we invite Him into, we have failed to take ALL things to Him for His guidance and direction, and then walk it out, leaning on our own understanding has led to most/all of the trouble down here.

America doesn't allow 9 year olds to marry. And we prosecute accused pedophiles.

Maybe empathy for Iraqi girl children would be appropriate rather than distracting from the matter by giving eye planks attention.

You obviously haven't been keeping up with the news, because many are still in government and Hollywood. Only one or two of them are reportedly fleeing the country now that Trump is coming back.

Maybe condemning the wickedness in our own governments is a more legitimate first step. Otherwise, what is said might simply be seen as hypocritical self-righteousness, and any professed empathy disregarded as war propaganda.

The, I know they are but what about us" tactic.
No empathy.

Proposed empathy for those little girls in the article is war propaganda and hypocritical self righteousness?
That judgement is an example of depraved indifference.

Someone who claims to care about pedophilia in America but condemns reporting in foreign lands is a purveyor if falsehood on the entire subject.

Christians can still pray for those little girls.
And as we know,we always pray for victims everywhere.

When a country proposed a law to make child rale law everyone with a conscience cares.

I fixed the typos so my post reads as intended.
One day. GBoard won't autocorrect incorrectly. And after I've moved on in my typing. I like auto correct but not when it does the wrong thing.

I type love,it corrects it to live.

And yet our elected representatives, judiciary and Hollywood are filled with pedophiles. The current resident is responsible for trafficking some hundreds of thousands of children.

No, I didn't. I was responding to a topic that was already being discussed.
The president has nothing to do with Tennessee lawmaking.
Hollywood also has nothing to do with Tennessee

Yes you did. You talked about a pedophile bill being defeated in Tennessee, and I pointed out that the governments and other institutions are still riddled with them, despite the law being defeated - the government turns a blind eye to the worst criminals in power, because it is run by them. I mentioned Hollywood because you probably wouldn't have heard about the bill if it wasn't for the media, and the media is filled with them also. I accept that the pedophiles in media might not have been directly related to the pedophiles in government (although they are), but I didn't want you to be misinformed by withholding pertinent information.

Mohamed's example is exactly why Iraq wants to change the age of "consent". How a 9 year old can give consent is a mystery to me. How any democracy can allow Muslims to settle in their country is also a mystery to me. Still, the West long ago forsook God. God has returned the favour.

By our default, when we each who claim Christ repent and return He will respond, He is always faithful.
