Good morning all. I am here searching for some good conversation and direction and most of all clarification between what I read and understand from what I am told it means and why. I feel I have been very blessed by the Father and hope to share with others. God Bless all His sons and daughters.

Welcome, Whomsoever.

I look forward to seeing some examples of what you mean when you speak of the contrast between what you read and understand and what others tell you it means.

:)

"The Christian atmosphere is as diverse as any large gathering, and then some.
"Guard the heart" should not be taken lightly. You will likely be bombarded with untold
"Divine readings" and told what to believe and what not to believe, according to each
person's opinion and/or interpretation.
'Hopefully, you bring along rationality when viewing the 'readings'.

I will be praying for guidance and the right words from the good Lord above in hopes of respectful exchanges kept specific pertaining to not only the verses themselves and the total context of the whole book while leaving my personal thoughts and opinions out, in hopes of keeping things real, as I am sure, by your name, you would appreciate.

Remaining civil seems to be one of the hardest things for Christians to be to each other, the desires of the flesh in battle with the desires of the Spirit. How to discern the filthy rags from Gods Truth with the many levels of the given gifts in one place is the fine line we walk. I pray I am maturing in the Lord and will be able to rise above my flesh desires so His will, and not mine, will be done. Prayers to be rational and kind at all times gladly accepted

for starters, know these verses: 2nd Timothy 2:7 & 15, John 14:26 & 16:13, 1st John 4:4 (discerning the spirits). whoever is telling you Bible information, make sure that person is a born again Christian & is well know for speaking the truth like Adrian Rogers, Charles Stanley, Michael Uceff, Robert Jeffres, Joseph Prince, etc.

Surely good information but how does a person who is without knowledge tell one who is born again from the one who is not but claims to be when they both use the same bible verses and sound so convincing?

This would have been ideal for the last post I replied to concerning 'the unredeemed' and made me think

8 Be not thou therefore ashamed of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but be thou partaker of the afflictions of the gospel according to the power of God; 9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, 10 But is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel: 11 Whereunto I am appointed a preacher, and an apostle, and a teacher of the Gentiles. 12 For the which cause I also suffer these things: nevertheless I am not ashamed: for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 The same was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. 4 In him was life; and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not.

Thank you for the suggestions, I will go look up the rest of them.

I am totally for interpreting verses not only in their immediate context, but in the overall context of the Bible as well, so we are in agreement there. I am also for respectful exchanges while leaving out our own personal opinions. In fact, I feel as if I am talking to myself. Did somebody clone me while I was sleeping? o_O Seriously, I look forward to some respectful dialogue in the future as the Lord leads you.

Thank you, I look forward to this also. With the Lord's help, I try to keep in mind Romans 12:1-8 and Eph 4:11-16 at the beginning of every day along with Matt 6:9-15 and God's will being that all come to repentance. Too much? Looks like it when put down in words, but that is where my heart is these days.

Too much? Not at all. All three portions of scripture are related in that they all have to do with God's will being done as we submit ourselves unto him as individual members of the collective body of Christ. As individual members, we all should be receiving something from our head, who is Christ. Not only for our own betterment, but also so that it might be shared with others for the edifying or building up of the body of Christ at large.

A big commission, but doable if we truly take the first step which is submitting ourselves to God.
