I don not know what to do. There are nearly no options for me. College is a no due to no evening courses or employment as well as God seemingly saying no to it also. No work seems to show up for me that I can do. God seems to say no to self employment. And even trading online seems to be banned for my by God.

I'm a broke loser at home with parents over 40. Why does God not give me funds or direction. What do I do other than wait another long period with next to no help or guidance even after praying? God seems silent and inactive except to tell me off. Nothing seems to get better. I'm getting too old to continue to care or live in this way of meaninglessness. I need more than nothing except an unknown dream of something that no-one knows in heaven etc. Something. What to do?

Can you work fast food? McDonald's, Burger King, Dairy Queen, Taco Bell, they always seem to be hiring.

Online college courses? You can often work on them on your own time. And if you're in the USA you might be able to get financial aid.

What do you mean when you say that God is telling you off? How so?

I believe that God is tired of hearing the "poor me, I can't work" argument from his followers. I see help wanted signs everywhere. You have to start somewhere. Get out and look.

2Th 3:10 For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.

What can happen when you start at the bottom. The Walmart CEO started as a stock boy in the store.

If you continue to set on your thumbs, and asking God for a job, you'll spend the rest of your life in misery, complaining about being unemployed.

We go through hard times but hes always with us. Id continue to pray daily for your situation to get better. You cant feel like god dont want me to do this or have bad feelings towards him when were in hard times. I am in a simular situation as well, but I apply to everyplace i can think and I pray daily several times a day not just asking for my situation to improve but to give thanks for what i do have.. just remember although it may not seem like it at times. Someone else is always worse off then we think we are..

SKILLED TRADES.....

This is construction work like trim carpentry, plumbing, HVAC, pipe fitting, welding, and electrician. You learn on-the job and get paid WHILE LEARNING. And you had better learn or else! Classes are after working hours.
Gotta keep your nose clean and pass drug tests. You WILL earn as much as those with 4 year degrees in your area if not more.

It might not be what you want....but it's a solid career with benefits. It's gonna take work, ambition, initiative, and measured improvement over time. But it can pay REALLY WELL. If you want to offer up a bunch of excuses you can and you will be broke and unemployed. If you work hard and do good work you won't ever be out of work. (Begging for vacation time so you can spend your savings)

Yep, you wear work boots, hard hats, safety glasses, safety vests, and gloves....because you are blue collar. But there are much worse things to be.

My Grandson graduated from high school, applied for and got a welding apprentice job at a shipyard within a week. It pays just over $15/Hr, but he usually gets at least 10 hours of overtime. The shipyard hired 10 people the same week that they hired him.

There are spiritual laws surrounding wealth. The laws of wealth are as follows.

Implementation- this is when people make things with their hands. It's physical work, technician, manual labor, etc. This is to help other people in a physical world.

Unification- these are supervisors and people unifying people together. They need to be skilled in something and bring people together.

Communication- language is spiritual. In the beginning was the word, and the word was with God, and the word WAS God. Communication is creating wealth with the spiritual.

Creating- in the beginning God "created" the heavens and the earth. He created us to be the image of God.

Communication and creating are the highest forms of wealth according to spiritual laws. Even though technically a sports player earns millions... but he stops when his body is no longer able to perform, unless he is creative about continuing to make money from it.

When starting you typically start at the implementation level until you gain experience. But electricians and other technicians typically make decent money. You'll have to start out entry level though with no experience or schooling so it's less.

Medical workers can make decent but probably want schooling to not be a total slave. Registered nurses do very well. So do xray techs and people who work in the lab. Anyone that requires a degree though.

Communication would be teaching. Sounds intense, but people make money playing video games or cleaning their houses online. The thing is its a marathon not a sprint. People who make a lot know something others do not.

creating- inventors obviously, but anyone who creates or owns a business has this potential. Investing is another way, real-estate, etc. The bigger the risk the bigger the reward. But the consequences are intense if not familiar. That's why billionaires in business often say they lost everything before.

There's never been more opportunities for creating wealth than right now. But also the competition is intense too. I've been teaching for 13 years. My husband has been creating and building a business for 10 years. Things generally are not easy right away. People work really hard for it.

This is not God being against you. God gave us wealth and desires it for his people. Proverbs 10:22 "The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it."

But just remember it doesn't always happen right away. There's always hope. Find something you're passionate about and see if there is an audience for it. The greater the audience the more money you make. Practical ideas are great too bc people always need certain things like construction jobs, medical, teaching, etc. Times are tough so if you're going for quick money I would start Practical and work toward creative. I wouldn't go the sell artwork way without a name for it.

My friend. Life is more precious than money and material possessions. Knowledge of God is God's greatest gift to us. You can search the whole earth and the entire Universe and you will never find a friend like Jesus in anyone or anything.

Many people who seemingly make it, who have everything the world offers, take their own lives. You know Jesus. If you know Jesus, talk to Him. Thank Him for the situation you are in.

“whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
Colossians 3:17

Never Give Up

I've done and continue to do jobs which a lot of guys I know would not do. Take whatever you get for starters. Wish you luck

", , seems to be banned for my by God.
I don not know what to do.
Where to begin? If 'dave44' is still keeping tabs on all this fine advice, although seemingly has taken leave, I would like to offer my impression of his dilemma. Having nothing more than the OP, these two examples seems to indicate something lacking for anything requiring comprehension of sound grammar construction. So, even studying online at one's own pace may even be in question?

Not all that many years ago, I too was in like aptitude. Study time was exhausting. Unless I was absorbed in something I thoroughly enjoyed yet knew I needed the knowledge of, oft-times my attention-deficit reduced my endurance to a single paragraph before closing the book or pamphlet. That has given way to chapters consumed nowadays after patient persistence.

If this is at all what 'dave44' is up against, I would suggest as 'JohnDB' did, get your applications out there for the on-the-job-training openings. If transportation isn't likely, I would make myself a regular at the library and possibly explain your needs to the librarian. That's a freebee many seem to miss. Find a spot and reeeeeead and jump on the bank of Library PCs there to fill out applications as well.

God our Savior always, always has our best interest in mind. If in fact, your description of a severe predicament is possibly more than you were able to pen here, I would like to remind you of His care is also in those times as well. God bless you!

After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace,
who called you to His eternal glory in Christ, will Himself
perfect, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Good post.

ALL work is honorable.

NOT working is dishonorable.

Blaming God is dishonorable.

I sympathize with this young man to a point. But this idea that because I'm not doing what I believe to be worthy work is born out of a generation thinking they are special, and deserving. Receiving the dreaded participation trophy, instead of being taught that failures can strengthen them.

I'm sorry for seeming harsh, but what this guy needs most is a good kick in the pants.

If this describes you and you're 40ish it's going to be difficult for you to change. The Lord isn't going to hand you a loaded bank account. You needed to create that via sound judgment and hard work over the last 20 years. Is there an inheritance waiting for you when your parents pass on? Are they Believers? If you do come in to some money at some point it's unlikely you'll be able to manage it in a constructive way.

Praying that you find a better way.

Bro, this is happening all over Europe and has even hit the US.

I don't know about the UK, but in America it's being caused by FRAUD, bad economic policy, and anti-competitive business practices on the part of landlords.

Your housing crisis in the UK is probably similar; although from what I understand you have more of an immigration issue than we do here. Pray for your government and participate to the extent of your capability/competency.

All work is honorable if it is done honorably.

Your observations of millenials hold some water; but I'm not so impressed by GenX or boomers myself; because while I see some older men busting their butts in the workforce- I've also noticed a lot of unethical business practices prevail in those generations as well.

1st of all, become a born again Christian if you are not one. THAT'S ALWAYS 1ST!!! God handed out talents to everyone, sometimes more than 1 talent. you have abilities to do things great. ask Jesus to tell you what they are. 2nd, fix your attitude! it sounds like a "woe is me" situation. do not condition yourself to negativity, complaining, doubting & pouting! repeat to yourself positive statements: "i will find a job", "Jesus is going to help me", "from now on, i will own a positive outlook always"! & know this, the devil has you right where he wants you. don't give into the devil. he has no power against a Christian unless the Christian lets him. what do you know how to do good? there may be 3 or 4 things you are good at. it also sound like you have to increase your ambition! know Psalm 37:23- "the steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord & he delighteth in his way"! Psalm 119:105- " thy word is a lamp unto my feet & a light unto my path"! read books on what you know how to do. have you ever heard: "if you don't get started you will never get started"? maybe you aren't in tune with God. ask Him to open your mind to listening to Him. a testimony for you: i was severely beaten by my parents but i overcame my childhood by myself with mind power & then when i became a b.a. Christian, Jesus certainly assisted me in all. i would read books in the winter time on landscaping, coins, antiques & other merchandise. i learned everything by myself. also, when i was 20, i had a full time job plus was playing in a full time band. i still felt like i could do more & became even more ambitious & started dealing in coins, merchandise & antiques. blessings to you dave44 & i hope you enjoy a God blessed Christmas!

Yes. I agree it is not all the fault of his or his generation.

Especially as it relates housing.
Something MUST be done to stop the private equity companies from gobbling up such a huge percentage of available homes, and then renting them out at exorbitant rents. Such as Blackrock.

But the mindset of not attempting to adapt, improvise, and overcoming is disturbing for this generation.

Basically what needs to happen is the UK needs to finish taking its national identity back, and slash cheap migrant labor, unless that labor is being used for construction.

Low availability for housing and algorithmic tools have made it easy for landlords, and brokers to fix prices at levels where they can easily continue to profit while having plenty of vacancies and fewer sales.

It's just like the oil industry- in the US our domestic oil companies have said they will simply reduce their own production if Trump gets us more import to keep consumer costs (and their profits/dividends) high..... well at the end of the day, the needs of a nation and its economy as whole far outweigh the "needs" of those trying to fill their own pockets. If American companies don't want to produce; then we will need some new American companies.

Give of yourself...
If you're not working, and you're not going to school, or raising a family, then you have time.
Use that time to serve and be a blessing to others.
I'm sure there are places in the UK (where, according to your profile, you are) that need volunteers.
* Food pantries to pack and distribute food
* After school programs to mentor children
* Animal shelters that need help cleaning and playing with/exercising the animals
* Elderly who need help cleaning their homes or getting to stores or appointments
The list could go on, but I hope you get the idea.
