I've read this whole thread and it's simply amazing how many different views there are.
In fact some of what has been spoken here has been fulfilled right before your eyes....if you been following Israel's war.
At the time of the prophets and also the revelation from John most of what is written could not come to pass because the world did not have the population, technology, communication, as we do today. Let alone the weapons that yet will be revealed to be used.
In fact just 100 yrs ago there was no Israel.
John along with the prophets describe what they saw according to what the knew it to be in their day. Yet they also described many things yet to come.
We are in the last days. God is regathering his chosen, the enemies are gathering against Israel. Salvation and redemption will come to Israel.
I have found that if you study the old testament and the history of the jews you will see the hand of God undeniable.
The culture, the customs, traditions, of not only the jews but also the pagan ways.
Some may say all I need is to study the new testament ......or...... culture, traditions, and customs especially pagan beliefs are not of God and no need. Think again....know what the enemy is up to.
Our society has become more pagan in the last 4 yrs than I have seen in 65 yrs. Know your enemy.
Israel is the example of the true and living God that keeps his word and loves his children. A just and righteous God. A Holy God.

Act 11:25
Then departed Barnabas to Tarsus, for to seek Saul:
Act 11:26
And when he had found him, he brought him unto Antioch. And it came to pass, that a whole year they assembled themselves with the church, and taught much people. And the disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.
Yes, and it was Roman soldiers that gave them the name.

Actually Christian means little Christ, like little Johnny. It was an endearing term Christians used to refer to themselves

G5546 Χριστιανός Christianos (chriy-stiy-a-nos') n/g.
1. (literally, familial) “Little Anointed” (as family name of endearment, like “Little Johnny” or “Little Susie”).
I have several historic sources that say it was meant as a derogatory name for followers of Jesus. One of the sources is James Ussher. The fact that it is a Latin name is evidence as well. The Christians took it as a badge of honour.

I assure you no offence taken!

Men invent terms to describe concepts such as messianic age, millennial kingdom but is not important, what we think is not important.

What matters is what the bible says, the written word of God. the millennial age or millennial kingdom is to me the same means when Jesus returns in the end times at the end of Jacob's trouble this age will start and will last 1000 Years according to revelations.

Jesus the messiah, is describe in many terms such as;
Old Testament: Mashiach (Messiah), Son of David, Emmanuel, The Branch, Servant of the Lord.
New Testament: Christ, Son of David, Lord, Son of God, The Anointed One, King of the Jews.the alpha( begining) and the Omega( end) as written in the book of revelations.

they all point to Jesus Christ and prophecy about Him from the beginning of time to the end of time, he is one with GOD.

I will try to provide words and the proper scripture in the future so we may have a reference point.

I will write for you tomorrow about Jesus second coming and rephrase question in post 185 and explain with references and will keep short.

It is a bit late for me now, lets discuss tomorrow.

Blessings
Thank you vassal.

I have already provided you with the correct answer to this question with several different proof texts in different responses of mine, but I will reiterate a couple of truths now.

Dan 7:11
I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame.
Dan 7:12
As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time.

When the little horn, or when the beast, or when the Antichrist is slain as his body is destroyed and given to the burning flame (Rev. 19:20), the rest of the beasts, or the rest of the kings (Dan. 7:17) and their kingdoms (Dan. 7:23), shall have their dominion taken away, but their lives will be prolonged for a season and time, or for 1000 years, as Christ and the saints rule over them during his coming Millennial Reign.

The very popular belief that all of the wicked will be destroyed immediately at Christ's second coming is a totally unscriptural belief. Do millions of people currently believe that totally unscriptural nonsense, even as millions of people in ages past have similarly believed the same? Unfortunately, yes, they do, and, unfortunately, yes, they have, but it is totally unscriptural nonsense just the same.
Keepingthingsreal, I removed a good portion of this post not to avoid considering it, but rather to consider one portion of text at a time.

Would you agree that the fourth kingdom in both Daniel 2 and Daniel 7 represents the Roman Kingdom?

Would you also agree that a "1,000 years" is not found in Daniel 7, but rather you assume it is implied?

No you can't believe everything you read or hear. At one time the chronology of James Ussher was inserted in the margins of the King James Bible. It doesn't mean he was always right. He did possess a library of 12,000 books. Many had trust in his words.

James Ussher said the following------

4046 AM, 4756 JP, 43 AD

6667. Barnabas went to Tarsus to find Saul. When he had located him, he brought him to Antioch. It came to pass that for a whole year, they met together in the church and taught a large multitude. The disciples were first called Christians at Antioch. This name was derived in Latin form and not from the Greek form of Christ. It seems to have been created by some Romans who were then at Antioch.

I'd have to see his reasoning or evidence for this. The word was in the Greek texts before it was in the Latin texts. He admits he doesn't know how the word originated; just speculation

To my understanding.. "christian" meaning "Christ like" was given to those who followed what was referred to as "the way" from the roman authority.
As the first assembly of what we call church was made up of mostly Jewish decent it was to identify a certain sect of jews which believed Christ as the messiah.
This of course was a insult to Rome for they were of pagan beliefs and it justified the arresting and persecution of Christians.

Just two points. First, Ussher did not say he did not know how the word originated. What he said was, "It seems to have been created by some Romans." Second, even if it was recorded in a Greek text first, still its origination is Latin.

I had another source which stated it was Roman soldiers who coined the word as a slur against believers. I have not yet found that source in my papers.

These ideas originated in the 16th century. There is zero evidence that the term Christian had it's origins in Latin, and in fact that contradicts common sense. Everything pertaining to the NT originated in Greek and was later translated into Latin

My understanding is that the suffix is indeed Latin, but not the root word. Here is a summation of what I found—-

The term “Christian” originates from the Greek word Χριστιανός (Christianos), which is derived from Χριστός (Christos), meaning “anointed one,” and the Latin suffix -ianus, which means “belonging to” or “follower of.” Therefore, “Christian” essentially means “follower of Christ.”

Historical Context:

1. Χριστός (Christos): This Greek word is a translation of the Hebrew word מָשִׁיחַ (Mashiach), meaning “Messiah” or “anointed one.” It was used to refer to Jesus of Nazareth as the promised savior in Christian theology.

2. First Use in Antioch: The term “Christian” was first used in Antioch (modern-day Turkey) during the early 1st century AD, as recorded in the New Testament in Acts 11:26:

“The disciples were called Christians first in Antioch.”

It was likely coined by outsiders, possibly as a nickname or label for the followers of Jesus, distinguishing them from other Jewish sects.

3. Suffix -ianus: The Latin suffix -ianus was commonly used in Roman culture to indicate allegiance or association with a leader or group (e.g., Caesarianus referred to followers of Caesar).

Over time, the term “Christian” became widely adopted by believers themselves to signify their identity as disciples of Christ.

I can't find anything authoritative proving the linguistic origins of the term Christian. Some think this, some think that. So the fact is no one really knows. Just a lot of speculation.

I can't remember my second source, but I remember what they said. They said, the Roman soldiers were making fun of the Christians, (Most likely urged on by the Jews). The Christians took it as a badge of honor.

James Ussher did say it was derived from the Latin.

"When Clarence Darrow prepared his famous examination of William Jennings Bryan in the Scopes trial, he chose to focus primarily on a chronology of Biblical events prepared by a seventeenth-century Irish bishop, James Ussher. American fundamentalists in 1925 found—and generally accepted as accurate—Ussher’s careful calculation of dates, going all the way back to Creation, in the margins of their family Bibles. (In fact, until the 1970s, the Bibles placed in nearly every hotel room by the Gideon Society carried his chronology.) The King James Version of the Bible introduced into evidence by the prosecution in Dayton contained Ussher’s famous chronology, and Bryan more than once would be forced to resort to the bishop’s dates as he tried to respond to Darrow’s questions.

In 1701, the Church of England adopted Ussher’s dates for use in its official Bible. For the next two centuries, Ussher’s dates so commonly appeared in Bibles that his dates “practically acquired the authority of the word of God.

By the time of his death (James Ussher) he had amassed a library of over 10,000 volumes.)" From "Annals of the World"

keepingthingsreal,

In our examination of the scripture we can liken it to building a house. One block upon another, or one premise upon another. If one block is faulty, or if one premise is false, then it may be possible that the whole house will fall.

I believe our first building block is the book of Daniel. If not, would you present what you would consider a first building block?

I cannot multi-task. It is extremely difficult for me to maintain two thoughts at one time.

That is the reason only the first part of your post, which dealt with the book of Daniel, was included.

How can you.have a messianic age without a messiah. according to the scripture you provided it is evident that the messianic age will start on Jesus second advent. this has not yet happened.

Peace.
@tttallison

Here is the question rephrased and why I asked, I will also explain. sorry for the delay.

messianic age or millennial kingdom = kingdom of heaven on earth. Messiah =Jesus Christ.

Q: why would the kingdom of heaven be here on earth now or in the past?, there is no evidence of lasting peace on earth with Jesus being in control, as it did not happen yet.

Jesus did prophecy in the destruction of Jerusalem and it happened exactly as described.

However Jesus is Now in heaven with his father and preparing to come again, his second coming. Not all prophecies about Christ have happened yet as some might believe.

the Key for this second coming is approximate and we cannot know the exact time, it is found in the book of revelations.

the prophecy in your opening post desctibe;

Jeremiah;
Jeremiah 30 and 31 talk about God promising to rescue Israel and Judah from suffering, bring them back home, and heal their pain. He will make a new covenant with them, putting His law in their hearts, so they will know and follow Him. These chapters show God’s love and plan to restore His people.

I will just talk about this one the others are linked.

Not all the remnant of Israel returned to the Promised Land after the Babylonian exile. The people who returned primarily came from the southern kingdom of Judah, including some Levites and members of Benjamin. These groups were the ones taken to Babylon and later allowed to return under Persian rule. This return is described in books like Ezra and Nehemiah.

The northern kingdom of Israel, often associated with the "ten lost tribes," had been exiled earlier by the Assyrians around 722 BCE. Many of these tribes were scattered among the nations, assimilating into other cultures over time, and their specific identities were largely lost. However, prophetic texts, like those in Jeremiah and Ezekiel, include promises that God will one day regather all of Israel, including these lost tribes, to restore them fully.

these prophecies below have not yet been fulfilled, the lost tribes of Israel are still lost today and have been integrated in other populations throughout the world. However God made a promise th reunite them all under the new kingdom to come in the end days, that will be I believe this generation.

Jeremiah 30:10-11 (NKJV)
"Therefore do not fear, O My servant Jacob,’ says the Lord, ‘Nor be dismayed, O Israel; For behold, I will save you from afar, And your seed from the land of their captivity. Jacob shall return, have rest and be quiet, And no one shall make him afraid. For I am with you,’ says the Lord, ‘to save you; Though I make a full end of all nations where I have scattered you, Yet I will not make a complete end of you."
Jeremiah 31:10 (NKJV)
"Hear the word of the Lord, O nations, And declare it in the isles afar off, and say, ‘He who scattered Israel will gather him, And keep him as a shepherd does his flock.’"
Ezekiel 37:21-22 (NKJV)
"Then say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Surely I will take the children of Israel from among the nations, wherever they have gone, and will gather them from every side and bring them into their own land; and I will make them one nation in the land, on the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king over them all."
Amos 9:14-15 (NKJV)
"I will bring back the captives of My people Israel; They shall build the waste cities and inhabit them; They shall plant vineyards and drink wine from them; They shall also make gardens and eat fruit from them. I will plant them in their land, And no longer shall they be pulled up From the land I have given them," Says the Lord your God."
These verses show that God’s promises extend to all Israel, including the lost tribes, and that He will not forget or abandon His people. The ultimate restoration involves regathering and uniting them under His care.

this has not yet happened for some of the 10 lost tribes and will be only when Christ's return.

I will stop here for now.

This is both correct and incorrect. A remnant of Israel and Judah were gathered back to the land of Israel when Christ appeared. And even more from all over the world were in Jerusalem at Pentecost when the holy spirit was poured out on them, and many were baptized into Christ.

So that was a fulfillment of prophecy that continues to this day and will continue until Christ returns and gathers them all together, both the dead and a remnant of the living, at the resurrection. That will be the completion of the prophetic fulfillment that began nearly 2000 years ago

I do not believe the kingdom of Heaven is here now, or has been in the past. Jesus said "My Kingdom is not of this world." (Or age.)

It is obvious that not all the prophesies of Christ have taken place. I do believe the larger part of Daniels prophesies have taken place, but not all.

I believe the new covenant is a future event.

I believe Ezekiel chapters 34-39 is a key to the future of Israel. Both the Northern and Southern kingdoms become one. I believe God is referring to a physical resurrection for Israel, which is the second resurrection, occurring after a literal millennium.
