(You do not know God because you do not seek God. Without faith in Jesus, you are still dead in your sins. All righteous acts are seen as filthy rags if done without the atonement and covering of Christ.)

Isaiah 55:7 English Standard Version
7 let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts;
let him return to the Lord, that he may have compassion on him,
and to our God, for he will abundantly pardon.

(God can be as close as your beating heart within but only once you turn to the Lord.)

Proverbs 15:29 English Standard Version
29 The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

(I can recall only two accounts in the Bible where God responded to an unbeliever. God as a righteous holy being purposely distances Himself from sin.)

Revelation 3:15-16 English Standard Version
15 “‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot! 16 So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.

(God doesn't accept halfway as He desires full surrender to Him. Only then will you begin to truly experience God. Only then will the veil be torn that gives you a direct line to God without the separation of sin. Only then as you operate in the will of God, will He 100% hear your prayers.)

John 9:31 English Standard Version
We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

(Two requirements for God to listen to us. We must be a worshiper of Him and do the will of God that is written in the Bible for all Christians.)

Jeremiah 29:13 English Standard Version
13 You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.

(God challenges the sinner to seek and they will find Him. A seeking that requires the mind, heart, and soul. All in a complete surrender type of seeking. One may ask where do I seek? The mountains? A monastery? Meditation of the mind? No. It is as simple as seeking Jesus.)

Colossians 1:15 English Standard Version
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.

(Jesus Christ is the image of the spiritual immaterial God that most think of when we think of God. We seek God by seeking Jesus. We learn the characteristics of God through the Old and New Testaments of scripture. Especially the New Testament as we see the personhood of Jesus. We see God’s incarnation in the flesh provide us with a God who can relate to the humanness of humanity. God became a personal God who dealt with human emotions, human pain, human fears, and worries. But He provided an example for us all in a personal way. Seek Him today, do not just stand from afar, knock and the door shall be opened to the experience of a true relationship with God. If you seek to have this type of relationship but need further guidance please reach out and I will help you.)

When you "search for Him with all your heart," means all the good, the bad, and the ugly. That is an "unveiled face," no pretenses of "okay, there's no sin now, we're all good, right?" If the veil was the separation between the unclean and God, and it was torn at his death then how can we "sew it back up" again?

Sanctification is a life long process.

In that passage in Jeremiah, He isnt admonishing the lost or sinners. He is admonishing those in covenant with Him. This is more a directive for the Christian to seek God.

Look at salvation.

The way of salvation was brought through the cross and resurrection.

But does everyone obtain salvation?

No.

There is a response required.

The veil was indeed torn in the physical temple as an example. But that relationship can only occur for the one who puts their faith in Jesus Christ.

Physically dead I agree. But when God calls for the wicked to turn to Him. It is on them a choice.

I think God being close is what converts a person.
That is only half of it. If that was the whole story then all would convert.

Actually the Christian was not a reality in Jeremiah's day.

“Let the wicked forsake his way,
and the unrighteous man his thoughts; let him return to the Lord.”

This quote is directly speaking to the wicked.

You are correct, many don't seek God. Knock and the door will be opened, seek and you shall find, unfortunately many don't knock or seek because they are satisfied with the things the world offers them.....power/materialism/sex/etc. There is no place in their lives for God, and they prefer the darkness to the light. Sad but true.

John 3:19

This is the judgment, that the Light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the Light, for their deeds were evil.

“God that made the world and all things therein, seeing that he is Lord of heaven and earth, dwelleth not in temples made with hands; neither is worshipped with men's hands, as though he needed any thing, seeing he giveth to all life, and breath, and all things;

and hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation; that they should seek the Lord, if haply they might feel after him, and find him, though he be not far from every one of us:

for in him we live, and move, and have our being; as certain also of your own poets have said, For we are also his offspring.

And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.”

God made it as easy as you can get by the new covenant but Satan does a wonderful job promoting deception even to the point calling what is good evil and evil good.

Men by nature dont seek God Rom 3:11

11 There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God.

Ps 10:4

The wicked[all by nature], through the pride of his countenance, will not seek after God: God is not in all his thoughts.

Ps 14:1-2

2 The Lord looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God.

3 They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, no, not one.

It is God that comes to man, and not man to God. God is not the one who is lost. In regards to ‘seeking’, the Bible teaches that it is not man that seeks after God (Rom. 3:11) but it is God Who seeks after man Ezek. 34:11,12, He is the Shepherd Who seeks after His lost sheep and finds them

11 For thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I, even I, will both search my sheep, and seek them out.

12 As a shepherd seeketh out his flock in the day that he is among his sheep that are scattered; so will I seek out my sheep, and will deliver them out of all places where they have been scattered in the cloudy and dark day.

Also realize its limited to His Sheep Jn 10 for whom He seeks the lost and not all mankind !

2 Corinthians chapter 4. Wicked have a unclean Spirit. Romans chapter 1, a depraved mind. They have guilty conscience. Reprobates hate the Truth, and hate God. They have the mentality of Satan. Ezekiel chapter 3, watchmen, shepherds are to warn the wicked anyway. Understanding Psalm chapter 139
Wicked speak against God in malicious intent. King David hated those who hated God. Proverbs, we're to hate Pride and arrogance. David never associated with the wicked. I personally admire King david.
Psalm chapter 26
I have hated the congregation of evil doers, and will not sit with the wicked. Deuteronomy 7:10
But those who hate Him he will repay to their face by destruction, he will not be slow to repay to their face those who hate him. Some people say God doesn't hate. Well I documented it. Psalm chapter 129 and 92, the wicked will be destroyed on judgement Day. Those who repent and love and serve God have nothing to worry about. Reprobates can't understand love, there ingrained with selfishness. They have guilty conscience. Proverbs chapter 28. The wicked flee when no one pursues. A guilty conscience is jealousy play ground.
Proverbs, the reward that the righteous receive is life, the Recompense that the wicked receive is Judgement.j
Carrying out wicked scheme is enjoyable to a fool and so is wisdom for the one who has Discernment.
10:25. When the storm passes through the wicked are swept away. But the righteous are a ever lasting foundation.
Love isn't weak. Pride is downfall for wicked. Wickedness, selfishness, hatred is Antithetical to Love. I call pride cancer of the soul.

Isaiah 5:20-21; Proverbs 26:12b Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who turn darkness to light and light to darkness, who replace bitter with sweet and sweet with bitter. Woe to those who are wise in their own eyes and clever in their own sight. There is more hope for a fool than for him.

Actually, God listens to the repentant sinner. We do not become a worshiper of God until we are saved by grace through faith... IF God did not listen to sinners, how would any sinner be saved?

That last part could be seen as "works" salvation. I do agree that believers should be obedient to God and His will for us. We are all purposed, and need to strive to fulfill the purpose He purposed us for. Job was not "doing the will" of God when he spent quite a lot of time bemoaning all the troubles that beset him. Yet, God was listening to him, and, when God got fed up with Job's whining, God spoke forcefully to Job, and brought him into line again.

Some believers backslide. In so doing, they are NOT doing the will of God, yet He still listens to them when they ask for forgiveness.

BTW: The Book of Life records every thought, word every person thinks, speaks; as well as ever act. Be they believers or sinners. So, I'm pretty sure God hears all the nasty stuff unbelievers speak. Else, how could they be held accountable at the Judgement seat?

Thank you for seeking clarification, I could have explained better.

(Two requirements for God to listen to us. We must be a worshiper of Him and do the will of God that is written in the Bible for all Christians.)

To clarify I should of added two requirements for God to listen to us 100% of the time.

There are a number of scriptures that tell us that God will ignore certain things.

John 9:31
English Standard Version

31 We know that God does not listen to sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of God and does his will, God listens to him.

I was mostly quoting the verse above.

Below is another example of instances where God chooses to ignore us. Some are pointed at Christians while others unbelievers.

What do you do when you call in for support and the line is disconnected or has some sort of
interference? We must do a self-check or location check in order to see is our communicator is broken
or if our location is in a bad reception area. There are a few prayers that God will not hear or listen to because of the methods or reasons for the prayer.

But first I would like to describe an illustration. When we dial 911 here in America, we will be directed to
a dispatcher. This dispatcher will ask you a series of questions that are very important. There is a
guideline and a structure that they are bound to and must follow in order to get as much vital
information as quick as possible. If we the caller begin to disrupt these guidelines by being over
emotional and telling them all this info they do not need or want; then the dispatcher will not take note of the information until we have given them what is within their will of importance. Once received then the dispatcher dispatches support. If we are not praying in the will or guidelines of God, then our prayers may be hindered or even ignored!

Here is a list of scriptures in detail on which prayers are ignored and why.

The Lord is far from the wicked. (Proverbs 15:29)

The shedding of innocent blood. (Isaiah 1:15)

The willingness to ignore God’s commands. (Proverbs 28:9)

If we ignore immorality in our hearts. (Psalm 66:18)

We ask with corrupt intentions (James 4:3)

If husbands dishonor their wives (1 Peter 3:7)

Use prayer as a theatrical performance (Matthew 23:14)

As you can see, before we go to prayer, we must first make sure we are in the will of God. Are we within the dispatcher’s guidelines in order to receive support? After we self-check ourselves and we conclude that we have done something sinful or living in some sort of way that is not in God’s will. Then we should confess and repent in order to reestablish the disconnected relationship. This fixes our comms unit aka prayer and puts us in the right location for perfect reception aka being in the will of God.”

IF God did not listen to sinners, how would any sinner be saved?
As in God operates in His will. So to pray for salvation is in His will. God is far from the wicked so it is vital that they make the step towards faith by belief and repentance.

Some believers backslide. In so doing, they are NOT doing the will of God, yet He still listens to them when they ask for forgiveness.
So Job was a believer firstly and second I disagree that he backslid or was going against God. That is the whole point of most of the book. He had not sinned against God. God actually got onto his friends for that. Getting Job back in line wasn't the moral of the story. Job actually passed the test.

Asking forgiveness is another request from God's will. So of course, He hears that.

I'm pretty sure God hears all the nasty stuff unbelievers speak.

Well the concept of hear in this context is to hear as in listen or act in compliance to what is being asked of Him. Of course, He can literally hear all things.
