try John 16- Always best to read about 7 verses before and after to get context. This avoids cherry picking a verse and expounding on it. Best yet, take it to the Lord that e may lead you in ALL truth, as He promised.
blessings
Well, that narrows it down to 33 verses. Now please specify which verse in JN 16 you have in mind, because I cannot find it either.

Thank you brother!
Getting so in my ministry He showers so strongly people around experience Him as well, John Wimber spoke of how Jesus "Oozed" Holy Spirit presence, such as how the woman with the issue of blood knew she could touch the hem and be healed, Jesus was aware Holy Spirit power had gone out of Him. Peter walked to the synagogue and the power flowed out that the people lay their sick out and were healed as He passed.
blessings
That is what I am after I have only met one person who just oozed the holy spirit like that in fact if I recal I wrote a poem speaking of this but it happenning to many others as well a time coming when his spirit and power will be abundant even more so than the apostles

He has spoken this to me many times even given me dreams about it I saw on the horizon a citry of sin covered in trash and filth rodents were everywhere and everyone walked around as if unaware of the filth.

But in thyis dream the land was bare and dead nothing could grow but like a small whisper at first singing could be heard and it got slowly louder and louder until it was like a trumpet and I saw on the horizon a army of people covered in a gold mist glowing with radiant light singing and marching towards the city of sin a golden city also followed behind them

Every step they took life sprung forth rivers ran and each step they took became holy ground.

shittim..

You know I once replied to a man of God not to long ago and I thought I was agreeing with him. He came back said it was his channel and he can say and do what ever he wants and told me my post was mumble jumble incoherent. Again.. I thought I was agreeing with him. I at 63 for over 50y in the lord I am reminded of how I write, spell, talk, grammar not by the world no only by "Christians".

Were all human and it can be very hard to talk to some when they play the "God card". Well it seems others have heard from GOD and a.... which one are listening to because others can also back up what "GOD" is saying to them by His word. Just sharing thats all :)

As for the OP well no offense all you did was share what you personally believe "fire" is and is not. To say we can be easily deceived yes but you know that door swings both ways right?

I think by now most have heard of "gold falling from heaven". Yes I am one that needs chapter and verse. I do remember this man of God and his team would walk streets of major cities all over the world praying and I mean every street. “Gold is falling on the Gentiles,” said the stunned rabbi. The preacher had just finished prayer walking throughout Jerusalem and had been resting on a bench when this rabbi sat next to him and began a conversation. The preacher asked the rabbi what he thought about how in 1989 gold was falling from heaven upon people who were worshipping Jesus, and was Henry surprised by his answer! The preacher was surprised by the rabbi's answer. “Gold is falling on the Gentiles,” said the stunned rabbi. In the ancient Hebrew, replied the elderly rabbi, before the bridegroom comes to take his bride, he always sends her a gift of gold by midnight.” And that rabbi said he had to go and go now!

This is one of those things I just put on a shelve. I will not speak evil or doubt just because I have not see it or heard it or it goes against what I personally believe. Why? I can be wrong. So the op believes in Christ as lord that is what matters. I will say if we tell GOD or the sweet sweet holy Spirit was is and is not of Him..in things like this then you have no thing to worry about for you will never see it. HE will never go against our will. In the forums I am on.. I always have to walk very softly....I like hearing from other believers.. we need to sing more together and uplift each other more not tell each other what is and is not of God just because we don't believe or see it or hear it

Jesus most would hold to an outward denying the power, we see that now. most would rather talk about Him than with Him, CC is no exception, the fields are white, the laborers are few.

no I understood you were saying he can appear like fire but that also isn't the only way he uses fire it is not just for judgement it also is a certain kind of fire that gives life.
And yes I learned the hard way to be careful what you ask or say I prophesied my own demise with my eyes saying to him that I didn't need these eyes to see and that I would be willing to give up these eyes in order to see through his not long after my eyes went almost completely blind and have been struggling with them ever since

I have actually seen the holy spirit appear in the form of fire before it was the first and only time I met the holy spirit personally he was a flame that was made out of rainbow colors that were so vivid and deep it was almost like the colors themselves were burning and upon touching this fire I was filled with life and felt God's power for the first time

So yes fire is used for judgement but also for life and empowerment
I know many Christians who have been affected by a similar phenomenon. For none has it turned out well. I will say it again: Jesus said the Holy Spirit and fire If they are the same thing, what Jesus said is unnecessary.

By the way, I was handed over to the devil, inadvertently, at birth. I know something about the occult. I know that Satan can appear as an angel of light.

and again yes I know he can appear as fire and that fire is not the holy spirit but again he also can appear in the form of fire as well, there is the real thing as well as the counterfiet that is why discernment is needed perhaps you may think my experience for instance is not the real thing and is satan or something but I have never heard of satan filling someoen up to the brim with life

Fire is symbolic you just have to be able to tell what this fire is that Jesus spoke of and it clearly is not a bad thing or else he wouldn't say to be baptized in it

I'm not saying that fire is a bad thing. I'm saying that it is not something to seek, any more than we should ask to be persecuted or to be put through hard trials. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is a once off experience. Fiery trials are something we go through from time to time. There is no need to ask for it, that's for sure.

And John never said to be baptized with it. He was warning the pharisees that 2 baptisms were coming to Israel: one a blessing and one a curse.
John never said the baptism of fire was a curse.

“But who can endure the day of his coming? Who can stand when he appears? For he will be like a refiner’s fire or a launderer’s soap. He will sit as a refiner and purifier of silver; he will purify the Levites and refine them like gold and silver

We should never ask for it. No child, loved by his/her Father, needs to ask for discipline.

“My son, do not despise the chastening of the Lord,
Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him;
6 For whom the Lord loves He chastens,
And scourges every son whom He receives.

7 If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? 8 But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons."

That's one way to look at it, but John was referring specifically to the fire of judgment that would burn up the chaff in unquenchable fire (Luke 3:16, Matthew 3:12). Wheat isn't touched by fire

Yeah, I don't see fire as the judgement. I see it as the separation required for refinement:

"For the word of God is living, and active, and sharper than any two-edged sword, and piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit, of both joints and marrow, and quick to discern the thoughts and intents of the heart"

Furthermore, the reference to immersion in fire is to the royal "you" as in "all of you". Surely the wheat and tares are separated, but the kernel from the wheat needs refined, hence the threshing floor. And gold, and silver, and children of the Father...

The threshing floor was where the wheat was tossed in the air to separate wheat kernels from the stalks. I agree that that process can be seen as refinement, but is wasn't fire
