I FINALLY found a news story that confirmed that the bill was set aside aka defeated because of outrage from some republicans.

I also learned that trump was for it.
Doesn't sound like fiscal conservatism.
IF that's true, that's a disappointment.
However that disappointment is far outweighed by the victory!

We already do have some socialism. Like the fire department and law enforcement as we all pay for it collectively
I don't know why we can't extend that to healthcare like the rest of the civilized world
Actually, I'm all for extending that to healthcare. You have raised some valid points.

Trump wanted the debt ceiling out of the way for 2 years so he could accomplish his immediate agenda without confronting that impediment.

Whether this is a good or bad thing is debatable.

The democrats should take this deal since it will give them a little W instead of a big L to end their regime. They already dropped the ball once on an incredibly easy lay-up, if they drop it twice they're really foolish.

Zero funds for the Global Engagement Center scam.
Zero funds for Ukraine war.

Looks like it's bare-bones. Definitely not business as usual.
Yea I mean it's not a big W, but it'll get the troops their holiday pay and the disaster relief for the hurricanes. Democrats should be commended for working with Trump to get a little W except for old skeezer Jasmine Crockett.

Ironically, or perhaps unironically depending on your view of them, the democrats would have been better off passing last night's bill and would have been commended more highly, but they let their rage get the better of them so now they have to settle for less. It's all good for now though let them take a minor W and when Trump and the new Congress assume office they'll be able to make up for it and help the American people much easier.

Yes, Biden has done a wonderful job of lowering expectations so now that we know how truly terrible things can be, the new standard for acceptable is "not as bad as it could have been"

BTW.........all there are now are spending bills. That's the habit nowadays.
There has not been an actual budget tabled in decades if I recall correctly.

But what was passed is vast improvement over the old omnibus pork-fest insanity spending bills.

And the Democrats have been essentially defeated in that regard. No more gravy train where every whistle stop is a lobbyist, special interest, or crony.

I hope he and the reps in both houses will find agreement to reduce gt costs .
He was talking about eliminating income tax and going to tariffs instead. Hopefully he will keep his word on that one.

He's talked about it in detail on the Joe Rogan show. That's censored by my search engine. He's brought it up in October- November speeches.

I think we should pray that he will accomplish this. It will be a major miracle if he survives because the enemies he made with that announcement. Always remind your people to keep him in prayer for safety, that he will choose better advisors and appointments.

Nah I already know that. See now at the end here you have a big if-statement. So logically what we need to do is just raise tariffs on BRICS and raise tariffs on all slave labor countries. Sorry big neocolonialist slave owners, ya'll might have to invest in building some infrastructure in America again instead of scramble from one unstable country to the next colluding with their evil governments to enslave millions of their people. Then there is the angle that no one has really mentioned yet on the purpose of tariffs which is as a tool of driving foreign policy. They can play our game, or they can collapse inwards on themselves. Oh boy do I hope they try to play the hardball and get smacked down. We might see some of the most wicked regimes in alll history get torn to shreds from the inside out. China is already on the edge, let's push those godless communists over it.
The US companies importing the product pays the tariff not the manufacturer. What incentives would the company's making the products have to move manufacturing to America? American manufacturing would cost more money and the product would sell for the same price to the importers. It makes no economic sense.

This is why even Republican economists are warning that the prices are going to go up and Trump himself is now backpedaling and unable to promise that the prices won't go up.
