LGW is not about us making points but rather God making points and converting all to affirming what is good and true.
So, let us continue:
TOP #7: Keep watch and do not let wolves distort the truth. [ACTS 20:28-30a] Paul evinced awareness that the “gospel of God’s grace” (v.24) was a new and fragile revelation that risked being perverted.
TOP #8: It is more blessed to give than to receive. [ACTS 20:35] Paul cited a TOJ that is not recorded in the gospels.
Following the account of Paul’s mission in Acts, we now consider his teachings in Romans.
TOP #9: The Gospel of God is that Jesus was a descendant of David, who was revealed by His resurrection to be the Son of God and Christ the Lord. [RM 1:1-4] Paul says God graced him with apostleship for the purpose of calling all Gentiles to faith and obedience, including the Romans (v.5-6).
“LGW is not about us making points…”
yeah but Lol In a
discussion you sort of need to read someone’s point and then articulate a reply with hopefully some points you’re making ….it’s part of the process of having a discussion
as for the rest of what your saying … the scriptures i shared there were making a very specific point to the comment I had replied to that Paul’s preaching was coming from the ot prophets and law
what they had foretold would happen paul was saying the same things as Moses and the prophets said would come only Paul as the other apostles were revelators of the scriptures in the ot showing the world how it applies to all of us in Christ
There’s a sequence to the Bible
the law and prophets foretold the coming of the messiah and gospel , then the gospel came and fulfilled what the law and prophets said would happen
“For
all the prophets and the law prophesied until John.”
Matthew 11:13
“
The law and the prophets were until John:
since that
time the kingdom of God is preached, and every man presseth into it.”
Luke 16:16 KJV
after this Jesus sent out witnesses and gave then his spirit and revelation so th at tbey could inderrrsnd the scriptures and how they apply to all creation through the gospel
so just one example of what I’m saying this prophecy to israel in the ot appx 700 bc
“Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand. He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.”
Isaiah 53:4-6, 10-11 KJV
Then was fulfilled when Jesus was born and lived and preached the gospel and suffered and died for sins offering salvation to all who believe then rose up again from death and ascended to heavens throne
Paul’s ministry along with Peter and John and all the apostles was to witness to all people that Jesus is the king promosed messiah of Israel and salvation in him had been extended to all people beginning at Jerusalem to all people who believe the gospels record and witness
pauls role is a revelator of Old Testament prophecy like all the prophecies of Jesus dying for the peoples sins oauls doctrine is revelation of how that applies to us in Christ now of all nations and peoples
Just to understand who paul is compared to Jesus
“
Paul, a servant of Jesus Christ, called to be an apostle, separated unto the gospel of God, (which
he had promised afore by his prophets in the holy scriptures,)
concerning his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, which was made of the seed of David according to the flesh; and
declared to be the Son of God with power, according to the spirit of holiness, by the resurrection from the dead: by whom we have received grace and apostleship, for obedience to the faith among all nations, for his name: among whom are ye also the called of Jesus Christ:”
Romans 1:1-6 KJV
And to understsnd where Paul’s doctrine came from
“Having therefore obtained help of God, I continue unto this day, witnessing both to small and great,
saying none other things than those which the prophets and Moses did say should come: that Christ should suffer, and that he should be the first that should rise from the dead, and should shew light unto the people, and to the Gentiles.”
Acts 26:22-23 KJV
It’s the same Jesus said here he was sending them with
“And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me. Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day: and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things. And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
Luke 24:44-49
one message God has been articulating for a long time was fulfilled in the gospel Paul is one of those many messengers who Jesus gave revelation so they could articulate the gospel better to the church after he ascended to heaven
