There are mysteries of which were revealed ONLY to Paul. The Bible's use of "mystery" in the contexts of Paul's revelations are defined as "hidden wisdom."
1 - Romans 11:25 For I would not, brethren, that ye should be ignorant of this mystery, lest ye should be wise in your own conceits; that blindness in part is happened to Israel, until the fulness of the Gentiles be come in.
That blindness will be lifted from Israel after the body of Christ is already removed from this earth. Just imagine, if you will, what impact it will have upon Israel in the disappearance from this earth millions who are followers of Christ and of the body of Christ.
2 - Galatians 1:11-12
11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Paul, therefore, who knew the Kingdom Gospel preached by the eleven, given that he was persecuting and killing all who taught and believed the Kingdom Gospel, is NOT what Paul preached.
3 - 1 Corinthians 2:7-8
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:
8 Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.
The Lord hid the mystery of the Gospel of Grace, whereby Gentiles could enter in without having to join with Israel for salvation, that had the demonic princes known of it, they would not have pushed humanity to crucify Christ. By grace are we saved through faith...not by works of such things as water baptism or any other ordinances that mankind created in his own vain imaginations. If it were by grace AND obedience, then it is no longer grace, but of works of obedience.
4 - 1 Corinthians 15:51-57
51 Behold, I shew you a mystery; We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 So when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
55 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
56 The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law.
57 But thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
5 - Ephesians 1:7-10
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
8 Wherein he hath abounded toward us in all wisdom and prudence;
9 Having made known unto us the mystery of his will, according to his good pleasure which he hath purposed in himself:
10 That in the dispensation of the fulness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him:
That this includes Gentiles, apart from Israel, this too was initially revealed to and preached by no other besides Paul. It was not revealed to the eleven nor to the prophets or elders in Jerusalem until Paul came to them to speak the things he had received and seen.
How can we know this is true?
6 - Ephesians 3:1-5
1 For this cause I Paul, the prisoner of Jesus Christ for you Gentiles,
3 If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward:
3 How that by revelation he made known unto me the mystery; as I wrote afore in few words,
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
Who were the apostles of whom Paul spoke?
Acts 14:14 Which when the apostles, Barnabas and Paul, heard of, they rent their clothes, and ran in among the people, crying out...
That explains the plurality, for the eleven were still in Jerusalem, having not been sent by the Lord as the apostles to the Gentiles. We are not told that the Lord revealed any of these mysteries to the eleven.
7 - Ephesians 2:14-18
14 For he is our peace, who hath made both one, and hath broken down the middle wall of partition between us;
15 Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace;
16 And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:
17 And came and preached peace to you which were afar off, and to them that were nigh.
18 For through him we both have access by one Spirit unto the Father.
That removal of that middle wall of partition is what surprised the eleven, the elders, the prophets and the Judaizers. Many do not know about that wall of partition, so here is where that was established in the word of God before even the Exodus:
Exodus 11:7 But against any of the children of Israel shall not a dog move his tongue, against man or beast: that ye may know how that the LORD doth put a difference between the Egyptians and Israel.
Leviticus 20:26 And ye shall be holy unto me: for I the LORD am holy, and have severed you from other people, that ye should be mine.
8 - Ephesians 3:4-9
4 Whereby, when ye read, ye may understand my knowledge in the mystery of Christ
5 Which in other ages was not made known unto the sons of men, as it is now revealed unto his holy apostles and prophets by the Spirit;
6 That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel:
7 Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.
8 Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ;
9 And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Once again, things hidden in God since the foundations of the world were revealed first and only to Paul by Christ, who then taught the other apostles such as Barnabas, et al.
9 - Ephesians 6:19-20
19 And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
If all this had been prophesied, then it was not a mystery, thus Paul being a liar. Not even Jesus made these things known to His disciples nor to those around them during His earthly ministry:
Matthew 15:21-28
21 Then Jesus went thence, and departed into the coasts of Tyre and Sidon.
22 And, behold, a woman of Canaan came out of the same coasts, and cried unto him, saying, Have mercy on me, O Lord, thou Son of David; my daughter is grievously vexed with a devil.
23 But he answered her not a word. And his disciples came and besought him, saying, Send her away; for she crieth after us.
24 But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.
25 Then came she and worshipped him, saying, Lord, help me.
26 But he answered and said, It is not meet to take the children's bread, and to cast it to dogs.
27 And she said, Truth, Lord: yet the dogs eat of the crumbs which fall from their masters' table.
28 Then Jesus answered and said unto her, O woman, great is thy faith: be it unto thee even as thou wilt. And her daughter was made whole from that very hour.
Notice what the Canaanite woman did NOT say. Notice that she did not lay claim to Gentiles being fellow heirs, and thus brought into being one with the Jews. It was still hidden in God, and yet many will claim otherwise when assuming it's all one and the same Gospel. I have yet to see where the apostles pointed to the cross when preaching the Gospel given to them by Christ, either before or after the Lord's ascension. Only Paul's Gospel pointed to Christ AND the cross as the center and focus of the Gospel of Grace.
10 - Colossians 1:25-27
25 Whereof I am made a minister, according to the dispensation of God which is given to me for you, to fulfil the word of God;
26 Even the mystery which hath been hid from ages and from generations, but now is made manifest to his saints:
27 To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles; which is Christ in you, the hope of glory:
Rightly dividing the word of truth is crucial in understanding the Bible. The mass confusions that have created the debates over such things as water baptism being a matter of salvation, others saying no, and others yet making it a matter of obedience to the point of Grace + Obedience = Salvation. Nonsense! Coupling ANYTHING to grace for our salvation is a corruption that injects confusion and controversy into the mix of conversation among professing believers.
